Baking Banana Bread | Follow Along Recipe

  • Today, we will be baking banana bread! It's a very simple recipe. Just be sure to have your bread pan ready and have at least three separate mixing bowls ready, since it is recommended.

    Ingredients & Measurements:
    -1 cup granulated sugar
    -8 tbsp (1 stick) unsalted butter; room temperature and softened
    -2 large eggs
    -3 ripe bananas
    -1 tbsp milk
    -1 tsp ground cinnamon
    -2 cups all-purpose flour
    -1 tsp baking powder
    -1 tsp baking soda
    -1 tsp salt

    Directions:
    Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F. Butter a 9 x 5 x 3 inch loaf pan.
    Cream the sugar and butter in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy. Then, add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
    In another bowl, mash the bananas with a fork, or anything you use to mash food. Then, mix in the milk and cinnamon with the bananas. And in another bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
    Add the banana mixture to the creamed mixture and stir until combined. Add dry ingredients, mixing just until flour disappears. Then, pour batter into prepared pan and bake for about 1 hour to 1 hour and 10 minutes, depending on how hot your oven gets. Stick a toothpick into the bread to see if it comes out clean or wet still. If wet still, leave it to bake a little more.
    Once it's finished baking in the oven, take it out and set it aside to cool down for about 15 minutes. Then, remove the bread from the pan and let it cool completely before cutting into it.
