    A 6gen 1le right there with a 5gen z28 its amazing what Camaros can do on a road course. Looked like an incredible amount of fun, enjoyed watching

      bingster 223 no doubt, it was an incredible amount of fun and adrenaline. You could tell the mag-ride on the 1LE made up in the corners for the horsepower the Z/28 has over it.

      Andre G the Scat Pack is gone. Traded her back in (was a lease) in August of 2018, and just purchased a 2018 SS 1LE in December 2018. She’s tucked under a car cover, as I picked up a Challenger GT as a daily driver back in July of 2018. My friends 2017 1LE was 17 seconds per lap faster than my Scat Pack at Road America. Even if I were able to squeeze 2 more seconds out of the Scat Pack that difference in time is still in a completely different class. Hell, 3 seconds difference is in a different class. For me, the 1LE is the perfect track weapon for the $

    please explain what was happening at 2:56

    • @FollowMyLine17
      @FollowMyLine17  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sure! This was an HPDE event, where passing is only allowed in certain areas, and when the driver ahead gives a "point-by" in the direction he would like you to pass and then lifts off the throttle slightly (maybe 75% throttle) to make sure the car given the pass has enough time/space to make the move. At 2:45 he gave me the point-by to the right, and then proceeded to keep his foot pegged and turned it into a drag race. This is a big no-no on HPDEs because it causes risk to both drivers. After I realized what he was doing I aborted the pass and fell back behind him onto the racing line.

    • @FollowMyLine17

      This one is tricky for me to answer, because it is not my car, however I DO remember coming back to the paddock and looking over all of the gauges, and every single one of them was in the "normal" temperature range. I'm sorry I can't give you a more specific answer.

    • @JeremyGSU2011
      @JeremyGSU2011 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The new 1LE's have tranny, diff, and oil coolers from factory. The C5 Z has nothing. You need an external oil cooler or a radiator with one built in to keep temps down.

      Mena DeVito they were actually pretty close IIRC. We talked afterward and he was only around a half second faster because of the speed he made up in the straights. I’ll ask him next time I see him. He has a 2018 ZL1 1LE now, since he wrecked the Z/28 about a year ago at Road America. I see him from time to time at different tracks. Great quality video sir. May I inquire what your camera setup is? I'm trying to mount a camera in a similar spot in a friends 1LE. Perfect position for capturing wheel inputs. Also what is the exhaust setup? Seems much louder than my friends car. Cheers

    • @FollowMyLine17
      @FollowMyLine17  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      94tegLSatMSC yeah no problem! I’m using a GoPro Hero4 Silver mounted to a CruiseCam headrest camera mount. I plan on eventually upgrading to a GoPro Hero 6 to get better 4K video captured.
      The exhaust is the factory exhaust, but I have a microphone taped to the rear bumper, right above the license plate opening. I ran it from the GoPro through the rear seat opening, out of the trunk to the rear bumper.
      The lap data comes from Harry’s Lap Timer Grand Prix Edition, and I have a GoPoint BT1 OBD2 adapter to get me more accurate info than what the phone can provide.
      I hope that helps!

      Also for harrys lap timer data, do you just upload the Go Pro video to your phone then sync it with the first lap in Harry's? Then upload from your phone back to the computer for editing? Sorry for all the questions... Trying to up my track video game

    • @FollowMyLine17
      @FollowMyLine17  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      www.amazon.com/dp/B01MSKI46R/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_pVtwAbSMF41YN

      Quick Dubbs well I’ll be at Grattan, Brainerd, Road America, NCM Motorsports Park, and Mid-Ohio in 2020 for some track days. You’re always welcome to ride along if you can make it out. The rev-match can be turned on or off. I can heel-toe, but no where near as good as a computer. It senses when the brakes are applied, clutch is pushed in and what direction you’re moving the gear selector to determine how much rpm to blip in order to get you a smooth downshift

      Bobby Wisdom not exactly. Look at all the track time comparisons between the 6th gen SS 1LE and the 5th gen Z/28. The 1LE is faster (marginally) at nearly every track. Still, the Z/28 is an amazing car.

      Luan Zeqollari wow that's great, no wonder the z/28 price dropped so much. both are great cars, thanks for sharing

      matrox I’m guessing you noticed him give me the point-by, and then proceed to drag race me? I decided it was best to not pass since the heavy braking zone was coming up...

      You could have easily made it around him with the remaining straight left in that video. Perhaps he thought you were going to go around him quicker but I understand why you backed off.

    Nice. This shows just how obsolete the 5th gen is.

    • @FollowMyLine17
      @FollowMyLine17  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      22chuman I wouldn’t say it’s obsolete, but the 6th Gen has a much improved chassis. The mag-ride helps tremendously. FWIW, I still prefer the interior on the 5th gen to the 6th gen.

      You have every right to like what you like. I am an F-body owner of since fall of 2000. I'm drooling over Corvette Grand sports and 1LE Camaros now. Dreaming.

    Z/28 is a true muscle car. Not this new gen shit. Sorry. Great video.

      Vlog like Gabe I’m not sure I follow. The Z/28 is still relatively “new gen” being that it’s only a 5th gen Camaro.

      It brings back the aspects of having a car built around the engine, not vice versa. It is like the older muscle cars in the sense of having simplicity. No fancy interior or gadgets just an expensive suspension and big ls7 motor.
      the new gens don't appeal to me as a muscle car at all just a big bodied euro sounding sports car.

    • @stantheman66
      @stantheman66 6 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      I totally disagree. The Gen6 is a different flavor of muscle car. 6.2 litters any way you cut it is a big engine.
      Using tech to get ahead has been around muscle cars from day one.
      Just 'cause it can turn doesn't make it euro-trash.
