    11:48 is one of my favourite moments. The oscillating violas below the high violin and flute harmonics creates this beautiful shimmering effect.
    Such amazing orchestration and harmony.

    Bellissimo e interessantissimo.Grande clarinettista!sembra che suoni clarinetti di diverse totalità. e portati tutti all'esasperazione tecnica.La composizione e' felicemente innescata nella migliore tradizione didattuca francese per cl., dei corsi superiori.Impressionismo evolutissimo sfociante in episodi espressionisti di grande suggestione.

    Anyone who say that modern classical composers can't write melodies, or don't care to, needs to listen to this. Yes, it's sometimes a bit reminiscent of "Rhapsody in Blue", but that's more a matter of having a similar feel than actually stealing anything.

    The ranges of expression in colour and inventon are remarkable...
    Probably the ultimate clarinet concerto?

    • @eduardomoleroillan9226
      @eduardomoleroillan9226 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      +Josue Vasquez Pinzon Actually, it is a clarinet effect. I have taken some lessons with Mr. Kriikku, and I have seen him performing this concerto in Finland and The Neterlands: there is no bass clarinet in that part. Of course, this effect is also possible on bass clarinet, but, in this case, it is clarinet.

    • @jbrandao7675
      @jbrandao7675 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      that is cool, do you know how its done? Anyway thank you

    • @eduardomoleroillan9226
      @eduardomoleroillan9226 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Sorry for the waiting. Actually, I am not able to do this effect in its fully , but you have to slide the chin on the reed a bit further from the normal place to make it sound. Also, you have to combine this with sliding the fingers. If you find a tutorial or more information, please let me know. Thank you!

    Benny Goodman plays this so much in Heaven that some of the cherubs began rolling their eyes. St. Peter wagged his finger at them, telling them to knock it off. And so they sincerely apologized and quit doing that.

    No question the composer wrote extremes on the clarinet. Cacaphony seems to be Lindberg's passion, but he also integrates a lot of augmented and compound combinations in his orchestration, which are quite beautiful.
