    I did this course when it first came out. It's outstanding. After seeing this, I think I'm going to run through it again!

    The bonus content sounds great. Is there any way to get that only, as had been signed up for the technique accelerator in a previous enrollment.
    Cheers

    So to help us decide, one idea might be to provide a sample of what one day of material looks like. Maybe not an actual day of the course, but something that follows the format closely so that we can decide based on something more than just your enthusiasm and. the fact that it is time-limited. I am actually thinking about the course, but need concrete information if I am to decide.

    There was a Kurt Rosenwinkel masterclass I saw years ago where someone asked him how to get better at playing fast because they were struggling. Kurt started talking about the symptoms of bad technique, one of which was inability to play fast - exactly what Scott's saying here

    The primary obstacle that many bass players are dealing with, precedes technique issues.
    It's the fact that so many have a fractionalized understanding of notes and intervals, and how they lay across the fingerboard.
    Until a solid grasp of basic music theory is attained, most players will continue to founder.
    This is not to say that technique cannot be worked on, simultaneously, but the primary focus for those with a limited understanding of the fingerboard, should be the notes, and their relationships.
    SBL offers plenty of focused instruction on this topic.

    That acceleration between 18-21 has a lot to do with your brain still developing. Between 0-25 your brain is a sponge. Thats why you dont see a lot of people pick up an instrument after 25 and become very proficient at it. I'm 33 and started playing 2 years ago. I play/practice/learn 3 hours a day, everyday, no matter what. i know if I played 3 hours a day for 2 years when I was 12, I believe I'd be at a much higher level. I just force myself to stay motivated and not get discouraged watching 10 year olds playing Teen Town lol.

    Dude. I wish I could afford that. Yes, I'm THAT broke. I really hope you reopen it one day. I still hope I'm able to afford enrolling (and becoming an SBL member) some time in the future. For now, I'm struggling to keep myself alive :-(

    Do you need any music theory knowledge?

    • @erickroth
      @erickroth 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      From what I’ve seen, no. This is about your playing technique, not what you play: your pluck AND fretting hand actions.

      Don't worry about theory for this course. You do use scales/arpeggios as a framework for the technique exercises but you get shown how to play them and get tab/notation to help too.

      When you are talking about technic I hope you mean neck hand , to me my picking technic is what the song calls for ,soft - hard attack
