- A live performance of Kashmir, by Jimmy Page and Robert Plant with the Egyptian orchestra leaded by Hossam Ramzi. This is from the No Quarter: Jimmy Page & Robert Plant Unledded DVD.
While it plays in 720p HD, it's a rip form a standard DVD resolution, still way better than the original video I uploaded.
My father died this night, I learned it it half an hour ago. He loved this music. Thank you.
I am so sorry for your Lost bro.

I played this song on the funeral of my father ❤

If this isn't playing at my funeral then I'm not coming.

TRUEEEE
Hi there my friend!
Just imagin being in the audience of this Experience of Absolute MAGIC in Madrid. Spain. 1995. With barely 22 years old.
I was.
And it is number one, maybe number two, it is a position interchangble for me with The Rolling Stones same year in a city in the North of Spain. Gijón. Asturias. The greener and cooler place of Spain. With probably the best food.
Always depending of my mood the day I recall 1995 and those once in a lifetime experiences...
And for me Being from Córdoba in the South of Spain. The Ancient Capital City of Al-Andalus as you already know.
For me the Egyptian Orchestra was THE KEY ingredient to add MAGIC ACCENTS that were able to take you to a distant place and time.
I just wonder where the heck Robert Plant and Jimmy Page should had lost the phone number of John Paul Jones so he couldn't been on that Tour.
Not for nothing he was the 25% of Led Zeppelin.
ISN'T HE?
I had shocking musical experiences aswell with completely different Music Bands.
Metallica. 06/18/1993
"INSIDE" the Stage in some way (they call it "Snake-Pit") under a tremendous Summer Storm of Thunder and Lightning, pouring over us an ocean of water falling from the sky.
And finally an even more extreme Music BAND.
Slayer.
2000.
A venue for just about an audience of one thousand privileged human beings.
Their Records are not between my fabs. Well. Actually I more than hardly listen to their records. Well. Never at all.
But that night I was ON MY OWN into the the photographers pit.
Just a scarce one meter away from Kerry King. Tom Araya. And the passed Jeff Hanneman.
I have never seen SO MUCH ENERGY, POWER AND ELECTRICITY in a live show.
The venue. "Sala La Riviera" in Madrid. Was just like a "Pressure Cooker" about to blow up with so much Pressure, Energy and Steam.
Because even being winter at the time of the show. There were a lot of Human Moisture in the Air.
Now a days very few live shows worth those 300€-500€ they ask you to treat you like cattle.
Rock is fading away at the Speed of Light.
And Pop ICONS are pasing, if not passed already.
Very few alive and kicking. And even fewer that worth to mention.
And I never pronounce the name of that OLD sio-cabala-whor...(you know who) cos every time you say her name a newborn in PALESTINE is crushed.
Have a nice day my friend!

This is the one of the best live performance in rock history. Actually not only in rock history, definetely in all music history.
Согласен!!!
That's a high bar. I like other live versions more. You may have an entry. "I'm Going Home" qualifies. (Live at Woodstock) "Я иду домой" квалифицируется. (Живой на Вудстоке)

Young people of today , this is how music is made, musicians actually playing instruments. Recorded live in one take. Just superb.
Not sure if young people are seeing such gems, doubt that they have that time..😔
This is still how most music is made, maybe not in one take but they seldom ever were.
@@menone9061 what does that even mean?
Get over yourself you patronising old wank. There's load of bands and musicians "actually playing instruments" today and the young people know about them, it's just YOU who doesn't. You are totally clueless.
@@menone9061 I am young and this is my music taste. Modern music is mostly trash.
As an egyptian I'm proud they incorpirated our music in the song and gave it the egyptian touch

And beinng an Asian, I can totally relate to the feel of melody and percussion by egiption style...
It is a masterpiece.
Adds more authenticity to the Kashmir aspect

But this is the most amazing belnd I had ever heard it gets u from the 1st second and you got to go till the end so amazed with the tunes
The violin solo the drums whole thing was so perfect

Is there anything as universally unifying as music?
There is no language, no religion, no race, no discriminatory anything, these beautiful people are just doing their job and touching our souls, music is the most beautiful thing in this world.
How must Robert Plant and Jimmy Page feel knowing they’re the best musicians in the whole World. They’re unique. This songs takes you to another dimension
Some of the bests....
Spot on, the song is unmatched

The best fusion of Egyptian and Rock music ever!!!!!!!!

4:25 omg.. ths violinist is on FIRE. If I wasn't watching the video would've thought it was a snake-charming flute
OMGGG I CAN RELATE WITH YOU
I was lucky enough to see this live at Birmingham, it was magical. I particularly remember the violin solo but the whole ensemble was so powerful. When we arrived our seats were so far from the stage I cried so they gave us some right over the stage! My mate Phil said "yeah, I'm gonna take a lass to concerts with me more often" 😅
😂
You took the words out of my mouth!! I remember matey'o doing his thang on that fiddle and it did then and still now sends shivers through me!!
Me too! Was it the NEC or NIA? I can't remember now. But the fusion of music was phenomenal.
It was the NEC then we went to see them again at Sheffield then Glasgow 😀

But when we're dying, this 12 minutes is more than enough than our entire lives
I love how Plant uses his voice as a musical instrument...like a guitar...
At 70 years of age I am proud to say that zepp, since their conception have been at the top of my music likes. I have watched their growth and have followed with interest their various solo efforts and collaborations. Long may they continue ❤
I miss musicians like this so much. I’m not mad at today’s music, I even enjoy it a lot. But nothing, absolutely NOTHING will EVER compare to the feeling this type of music gives me. Rock made like this, at a visceral, spiritual and emotional level, doesn’t have a match in today’s music in my opinion. There’s just nothing being done that resembles this. There’s great music, just different. Also, the level of skill and physical/cerebral synchrony put into just this one song…just blows my mind. Had I been there, I would have definitely cried of emotion.
Music doesn't have fronteers.. like the Human beings
I was one of the very lucky people who was there when this was recorded. Two of the best gigs I have ever seen.
I'm very very jealous!
You were in the heaven and angles were singing and playing music for you.

Kashmir is one of my favorite LZ tracks. This version is just awesome!
GOD.....This is seriously the best live version of Kashmir ever!!! Awesome! Genius! Absolutely brilliant!
Tini Suhartini no. The beat is not right, only Bonzo can get it right, it’s more a “still” groove, this is too much “forward” pushing
@@millmoormichael6630 bollocks. I love Bonham as much as the next guy, but this song is 'driving through kashmir' - it's meant to have a sense of forward movement, regardless of what lies ahead - that sense of dread, but we keep pushing on toward it. Also reference No Quarter.
And for the record, that drummer, Michael Lee, was the best drummer the UK ever saw after Bonham, which is pretty much why those guys got their hands on him. I love watching him, but he was lost in 2008.

Robert Plant's singing is authentic. More of an homage to Egyptian culture than just a cover with the Egyptian Orchestra.

You're my hero! You saw the best band ever and you could be my friend, at least here on Internet. Just one question, Did Bonzo destroyed everything with his technique when you watched them?
I agree , 70 to and love our Music . I´ve heard this Version the first time in Tunesia on the Radio , wend back home to Germany , and buy the CD very soom
@ Agustin, his technique and his application to the other players is what made them. It for that reason they did not carry on without him. He played loud when that was required, quiet when that was required.
I love the way the musicians of different cultures united in one to play this masterpiece
Music is emotion. Doesn’t matter what style on genre. This is so brilliant on many levels, not the least of which is the Egyptian flavour. Makes one feel alive and positive. Wonderful

Greetings from Egypt glad you loved it. I hope this gets revamped with a music band from Egypt today it would be on a whole different level. Now and during the 70’ we were using much heftier rhythms with much more oomph and slower. In the 80’ and 90’ we used light and fast rhythms these are less suited for such a song.
