      Cartoon Critic I'm sorry, but golf is so boring, that if it ever gets put on the TV at my house, everyone instantly falls asleep, regardless of whether we can see it or not.
      I know, complete exaggeration, but still, it's golf.

    I got picked so last once that the team captains actively argued about who was stuck with me. Then I proceeded to pull all the weight of the team and even though we lost and they blamed me (assholes), the coach said I didn't have to play anymore for the rest of the year. I got to be the assistant.

    I personally think that the worst players in the class should be the ones to pick the teams. That way, they could compensate for lack of skill with knowledge of your own classmates.
    Or just have the pickers rotate across the entire class, so that noone ever got picked last *every single time.*

      My high school required you bring a permission slips to your parents every single SEMESTER you had gym for the full 4 years and get signed parental permission to play dodgeball.
      Thankfully I hated dodgeball and you could choose to walk the track instead so I didn't care too much as long as my parents didn't forget to sign the paper.

    • @nyahnyahson523

      At my school (USA) we are able to have archery due to the teacher being certified to teach the program...
      And yet there's no dodgeball. Probably because high schoolers would take the chance to beat the crap out of someone.

    • @ianluk6385
      @ianluk6385 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      My school system was adamant about the dodgeball ban, but the day after a P.E test (because we had those in high school P.E) the teacher walked up to us and said "if you want to, you can use the auxiliary gym to play dodgeball."

  • @LilChuunosuke
    @LilChuunosuke 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Not-so-fun story to go along with the being picked last thing at the beginning.
    One time when I was in middle school, not only was I the last one to be picked, but the two team captains were actually fighting with my gym teacher, both absolutely refusing to have me on their team. Both teams were standing on opposite sides of the gym and I was just standing in the middle, alone, as the teacher counted the two teams to decide which one she would force them to add me to.
    And when she decided, the team captain actually started yelling and saying it wasn't fair that they had to take me. It was so humiliating.
    And for an added bonus: this was a game where we had to all get to the other side of the gym, but we could only stay on the other side if we were carried over. Being fought over because nobody wanted me was extra worse because I had anorexia so I assumed nobody wanted me because I was so fat when I really wasn't at all. I was also the last person left on my side and my team almost forfeited the game because they didn't want to carry me. I think the guy even said he didn't want to touch me. Definitely one of my worst childhood memories.

      That dodgeball story reminds me of one time in 9th grade, where all the freshmen students were playing essentially Mega Dodgeball and participants were picked based on random things, like what color shirt you were wearing or whether or not you had a specific pet. I participated in one of the rounds, and I basically stood in the corner until it was me and 2 other students left, when I went for an elimination but bungled it.

    • @SamTheMarioMan

      Reminds me of the time I got hit square in the face with our (foam) dodgeballs while playing what is essentially kickball but with one base and home. Made it to base (which was at the far opposite end of the gym), turned around and had a ball greet my face. For some reason I broke down laughing my ass off.

    • @LilChuunosuke
      @LilChuunosuke 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah I was always one of the last ones left in dodgeball. Both because they forgot I was even there and I have a really crappy throwing arm so it was a quick and easy win at the end.
      Man, this video is just reminding me of all the times people treated me like shit in gym class.

    Funny story, I was usually one of the last three kids picked last during elementary school. And I was usually stuck with defender, when playing soccer or hockey. And I was actually pretty good at sports as well. Elementary school was understandable because bullying issues back then. High school made no sense, you would think a 5'10, 230 lb. guy would be at least the top four choices... And since I was part of the NH school system. We didn't get the cool sports like archery or anything like that. We were stuck with flag football, dodgeball, you know the usual stuff you see in high school gym class.

    I can't remember if I was picked last or not, but... I do remember how much we played floorball. It reached a boiling point after we finally would have had something fun and exciting in such a long time, only for it get torn away because the dumbasses in my class *broke the thing we were supposed to play with.* My heart broke in the moment. I was very upset and I cried. *We played floorball instead.* I was indescribably furious and full of pent up rage, begging to be released. Hell, it went as far as me hitting someone with the ball as hard as I could on accident and barely feeling an apologetic twinge in my heart. Never again have I been excited to do something... With one exception.

    I hear ya about being picked last in PE and being paired up with some random person. I too was always the goalie, even though I sucked massively at it. For some reason, however, they rarely let me play in the field, even though i had a fast sprint and rarely had anyone covering me. Sadly, my classmates were selfish jerks and almost never passed the ball to me, even when I was close to the goal and had no one in front of me but the goalie.

    My P.E. basically cycled through basketball, health, volleyball, and tennis, with the occasional fun game, like capture the flag. As far as picking, I was usually picked last until I befriended some of the more athletic kids.

    I was always picked last. And not just in PE. Nobody ever picks me when people form groups in class. Being put into a group by a teacher makes it feel worse.l because it feels like I’m there just to fill space for a team lacking enough members.

    I was around the halfway point of getting picked on a team, probably because people knew me well enough to know I could stay out of the pros way but kick the ball when needed. My friends who did P.E (Physical Education) said all they did after it wasn’t required was juggling and rock climbing with a bit of track and field in between.

    This might be a little more exciting if each player got to choose team members from those who haven't taken their turn yet. Maybe if each player started with only 2 players on their team, plus the 5 in the middle... then the first player has a pool of 13 to choose from, and can also make moves to sabotage the other players by giving them "bad" members. That might get a little complicated for some players, though, I s'pose.
    ...Just the concept of this mode brings back bad memories for most folks, anyway. :x

    I wasn’t really picked last for teams, since teams were usually either picked by the teacher, we just split off into our own teams, or the class was split in half. When we formed our own small teams, I usually couldn’t find another group, so I get put into the smallest group. The reason that happened is mainly because I didn’t talk to a lot of my classmates, so they didn’t really know me. Luckily, I’d gotten to know some friends later, so it didn’t happen much later.
    Oddly enough, even though I wasn’t great at most sports, I was the ‘clutch player’- through sheer dumb luck, I was the last remaining player in dodgeball and would manage to rescue my entire team, I could score critical points in things like hockey, kickball, tennis, or basketball, or, even if my team lost, I’d somehow survive in capture the flag or anything like that. I seriously don’t know how that stuff happened.

    My school divided itself into houses that competed against each other. For anything with running I was high priority, because there was only one person faster than me and he was also the fastest in the school, so between the two of us our house always won running events...

    “...And the teamwo-“ “BWOOOOOOAH!!!” - Stephen Georg and Emile Rosales 2015
    0:50 That’s some coordination going on in the preview video.
    5:25 Ideally, you’d make the choice that covers both of those outcomes.
    12:52 So it’s just “Same is Lame” mixed with the stair minigame from MP9 (or some car MP minigame) and Wii Party.
    17:56 So Fruits of Doom only without the ridiculous text scroll.
    19:34 It totally is just a tamer Fruits of Doom with veggies/fruits.

    I was never picked for P.E. to begin with. I had an alternate class that was just me. I didn't have Special Needs or anything. I was just too inept and hot-headed for anyone to reasonably handle. I wasn't violent, but I got flustered easily and refused to play sports because I was either confused or my eyesight handicapped me because of near-sightedness. Eventually, I got back into it and played football. I made sure that I never had the ball thrown near me, but I could run the ball down the field effectively and even became the "MVP" of my class, as I was apparently doing quite well!
    I learned to try something new and enjoy a sport in a new way that year!

    Last two was myself and a kid with a broken arm, an eye patch, and shakes, due to a car crash they were part of. They got picked ahead of me.
    Another instance was when it came to me, the captains kept saying “pass”. For HALF AN HOUR. Got fed up, and went to the library, instead.

    This game Mode is fantastic in terms of strategy. Not only do you have to figure out the best hand from the first row. But if there are no cards on the first row then you have to prioritize getting 2nd place. I wish more board games played more with what position you get in order to receive a favorable outcome.

    My PE for my school systems were all different
    I was usually picked last or near last (rarely was I last) until in Middle School during our football unit for 7th grade, our captain (our teams were like teams of 4) decided to do a trick play. I sucked at catching any sport ball back then, so he decided to toss me the ball. I could run fast, so I caught the toss and ran passed all the defenders and got a touch down... the captain then just tossed me the foot ball and I always got big gains and touchdowns, even when they had someone cover me for once. That carried over and I got picked higher up, more and more depending on the sport. Usually a sport that required arm strength I still got picked near last, but any thing else I got picked in the middle.

    There was a moment for you to look at what first place gets, so you could know if you wanted to get first or second place. However I'm guessing it was Emile who clicked through it every time. Basically there was a chance for strategy on whether or not you wanted to win.

    I wasn't picked last in anything except basketball, but that's mostly because I was just too thin and short to effectively catch in football, and too nimble to get the ball stolen from me in soccer. So I had that going for me, which was nice.

    Actually in (edit: MY) gym classes no one got picked for anything for teams. You were chosen by when you finished 3 laps (sometimes more if we were misbehaving) around the gym, and divided everyone either by even-number-odd-number, or by two-and-twos, etc. The only thing that was chosen was turn order for kickball and such, which was essentially “you want first, you sit closer to the base”, so you more or less chose when you went.

  • @mitchellbunny673

    My school made gym mandatory for all years. They had tests based on pre-existing sports knowledge and had "participation" which based on your performance. We spent three units on bodybuildng, and the gym teacher openly bullied nerds like me, and hit on all the girls and gave em perfect scores even if they just stood there. I did, however, beat him in badminton, which got me a prefect A for the unit.

      Lucas Martinez It’s not that he didn’t notice; he wasn’t properly informed by the game. He thought that he could trade out only one player before passing it on (likely didn’t know that each player gets their own pool to pick from too rather than from the same batch. Seemed like all of them thought the same thing given Emile’s comment about taking someone that an opponent would want).
