Just a heads up for anyone watching this video currently.....the centercaps now come in a set of 4 for $20-$30....they come in solid black or black with a silver trim bow tie. You can also purchase black lug nuts in a set of 20.
I bought some wheel skins for my 2019 Subaru outback. Love them. No rattle. And they look great. Highly recommend them to any Subaru owner who wants black wheels instead of painting your grey wheels with plastic dip....
I just bought a Corolla and I’m getting skins for it because while I was at the dealership I saw a man come put some on a lady’s Camry and I was so shook! Haha I ran over to him and long story short he’s coming to put mine on! I think it’ll look better for sure. But I was curious how it was done up close so your video showed me and it’s neat! The truck looks great dude!
Actually, OEM wheel caps from Chevy are $30+ per cap. I found out when I thought I was ordering all 4 and then got my confirmation email that specifically called out that it was for a singular cap. I canceled that order and opted for an aftermarket replica set of caps that were about $35 delivered. ;)
I just got them for my truck but I don’t know how I feel about seeing the oem rim lip around the black wheel skin. Any suggestions how to make the lip all black without painting the lip
Nice Spencer... I need to look at the center cap wrap that you did. Can you buy that vinyl on Amazon or did you go somewhere different? Looks very good.. glad you did a video on this!
Freddy Sosa They might eventually, our tucks being all new in 2019 means it will take a while before we get the full selection of aftermarket parts. I just got my side steps in that I preordered in the spring lol.
Man I tried to use your method, but could never get a good pull, so I had to take the wheels off. Also I learned that opening for the lug nuts does get smaller than the factory opening on the wheel, so you may want to find a socket that fits into the holes. Also I had to take the wheel off remove the the center cap then put the wheel put back on to install the skin without scratching. Over all my truck looks awesome I'll post a short video.
This is a game changer I really didn't want to spend almost 3k just to keep a truck for only about 4 years I did that with my camaro & was practically gave away my original rims
That sliver-lip disappears if you have a little bit wider tire. I have 295/75/20s and you can’t even tell. It’s a little harder to put on but none the less it looks great! Just a FYI the 20s are 150 bucks.
Ak_Mick3y Anybody casually looking at them hasn’t noticed. True wheel heads will notice for sure, but so far I’ve been satisfied with the investment. You could play around with wrap or plastidip to hide that outer rim of aluminum.
Andrew Kellman I cleaned the stock alloy wheels to get any dust from the road off them for the install. I didn’t need to clean the skins. As far as general use goes. Foam cannon, pressure washer, microfiber cloth. No scrubbing while their is grit on them.
@@TruckOwnership101 yes i cleaned mine thoroughly before the install. I figured all I needed was the foam cannon when I do my normal wash and a microfiber towel but I just wanted to hear what you did! Thanks!
Awesome Video...Exactly what I'm looking for...Any issues (Loose, Cracking, Etc..) with them since the install? Just need for them to last about a year until I upgrade to 20's or 22's.
Okay am I the only one that got some with a center piece in them? They look like a perfect fit to what I have but when I add the pressure it almost seems like I'm going to break them. Do I need to take the lug nuts off first?
Negative to the lug nuts. I removed the original center cap on mine to wrap it. Maybe that made room? I’ve never heard of stacking a cap in front of another cap….
They did great , but I sold them with the wheels and tires for some 20” Trail Boss replicas lol. Just did that upgrade a about a month ago. Still recommend this mod though. Great look upgrade for the price. No regrets after the purchase.
You did a good job on vinyl covering those caps and all in all it looks OK but as soon as you can and able to save some money invest in a rim upgrade you definitely will feel better about it
The impact sockets I previously bought still fit, but there wasn’t a lot of room for them, maybe some heavier duty sockets wouldn’t fit. Certainly something to test first before fully committing. I did have to take my tires off with them once and was able to do so.
Sweet Gotta 04' jeep wrangler .Adding these asap. Hopefully a set is available in my make and model to match the rim design I'll try for a set of 5 to add to my spare or I'll just cover the spare with jacket Maybe a shot of black rustoleum spray paint would hide the silver background Just sayin Thanx
hybridsaiyan I’m sure some people who haven’t bought them will scream they do from the rooftops lol, but they didn’t for me during the six months I ran them. (I eventually bought a set of 20” rims) they grab the rim from the back, and the front have foam pads, so at least they try to prevent rubbing. Plus they also protect your rims from rock chips, so who knows if they actually do more harm then good in the long run lol.
😅 yeah... to be fair, I didn’t “plan” to do the upgrade so soon. It was a combination of discovering the 20” replicas, getting a good deal for them + trade in, and really liking the look of all black once I had the skins.
@@karbs76 better? Their are pros and cons to both. Powder coat would be the best look. But at the cost you might be better off looking to trade for some TB wheels.
DON'T PUT THESE ON. THESE ARE GOING TO SCRATCH THE RIMS UP UNDERNEATH. Also the balance of the rims are going to be off. Valve stems are free at Americas tire.
No they won’t/didn’t. Just took mine off to do my wheel upgrade and they were perfectly fine after months of use. They have foam padding to create separation from grit and to prevent vibration. And balance... really? Cars have snap on hubcaps too that don’t effect balancing. I drove these for months and had no vibration or any other issues.
Silverado Ownership: 101 Dude. You are wrong. Blanco is correct. These will scratch the rims underneath. Now they won’t do it that fast(will take a few years and you can just snap on new ones later). Also the rim/wheel assembly will be off balanced, not much but still off.
YZ250Yamaha969 🙄, whatever. Didn’t make this video to argue with my viewers lol. Even if they did leave small scratches on the inside of the rim where they snap on after years of use they are still worth in my option. Still great for a short term solution, or to hide corrosion of old wheels. They also can protect your rims from chips and scratching so the all caps warning is a little over the top to me lol.
Just a heads up for anyone watching this video currently.....the centercaps now come in a set of 4 for $20-$30....they come in solid black or black with a silver trim bow tie. You can also purchase black lug nuts in a set of 20.
A small pick or pocket snap-on screwdriver and a steady hand get those center caps out easy. Thank for the tip with the skins. 👍🏻
Never heard of wheel skins, but now i know how to remedy the awful looking alloy wheels on my vehicle! And you made it look simple.
That's Awesome!!!! Had no idea this product existed. Thanks for posting!

Awesome!! Didn’t think about vinyl wrapping the center cap. You just saved me some money! Getting some for my Impala!
I have the exact truck and i gotta say. That was a great idea and it looks good
4:14 The caps come in sets of 4. You would have spent $30 in total on a set.
Actually, OEM wheel caps from Chevy are $30+ per cap. I found out when I thought I was ordering all 4 and then got my confirmation email that specifically called out that it was for a singular cap. Suction cup works great
Bill Dunston I had one, but the emblem kept it from getting any suction. It’s gotta be a pretty specific shape/size.
It bothers me that you can still see the silver trim around the black rim
Same
What you can do is throw some black plastidip on the outer rim only so when the covers go on no silver shows👌
5:47 I’m considering plasti dip too for the rim edge on mine. I love my skins but hate that exposed rim edge.
I’m glad I found your page
Nice Job on Center Caps. Love my Wheelskins on 2016 Jeep Patriot.
Looks good ...like the Trail Boss!
Hymn... maybe light layer of black plasti dip around edges then install the skins. Looks great, had no idea these existed
Just what I’ve been looking for thanks.

Me too. Waiting to see if they put one out.
Yeah I have a 2019 RST with 20" wheels. If you guys find some please share a link.
Great budget upgrade! Reminiscent of the old hub caps. Do you think the center caps can be removed after the wheel skids are on?
You remove the factory cap and install center caps after skin. I have them and so far so good
Did you paint your calipers
Looks like caliper covers.
Man I tried to use your method, but could never get a good pull, so I had to take the wheels off. It was a pain for sure lol. I bet the perfect suction cup would have made quick work out of that step.
About to wrap my center caps
@@samsonsuarez2367 good luck! It’s a pretty easy one honestly. The contours of mirror covers have been the hardest thing for me. 😅
Just finished and it goes perfect with my black wheel skins for 2024 Suburban. Thanks for the video.

I use a plastic pry bar to get the center cap out
Did you have any balancing weights on your rims? Did you pull them off too?
I’m sure I did, and no I didn’t. This just snaps on the face of the wheel like a hubcap. It’s balanced and doesn’t interfere with the weights.
How long will it last ?
Wait, what, there are wheel skins now? That is awesome.
Beautiful
Has anyone noticed that you have wheel caps and is that aluminum that goes around noticeable
Ak_Mick3y Anybody casually looking at them hasn’t noticed. True wheel heads will notice for sure, but so far I’ve been satisfied with the investment. You could play around with wrap or plastidip to hide that outer rim of aluminum.
I can't seam to find them for my 22 silverado lt refresh, can you help?
That came out amazing! Damn good job!
How did you clean them without scratching the gloss black plastic? Just got mine today and wondered how you did it. Thanks

Center cap puller tool!
This is great, do you have the item code and name for the wheel covers. I would like to get a set for my Silverado. Cheers
Looks actually damn good
Great job, thank you
Do they come in flat black?
do they have one for 20 inch wheel regular 5 spoke chevy Tahoe suburban Silverado 2015-2020
Glad I found your channel really helpful
I think I'll give it a try if I find the skins for my Hyundai Santa Fe. Thanks
Will the tire changing machine scratch up the wheel skin when getting a flat tire fixed?
did you have to take of the center cap to install the wheel skins? Or can you can get the caps on when installing.
Great option and to save some money and get a 2" lift in the front
Can you tighten the lug nuts with a wheel skin on? Or do you have to remove the skin first?
You can still get at them. My impacts were a snug fit, so their is a chance some bulky ones might not fit...
How did these work out
? I saw you got real rims. Wondering if these just looked cheap and stupid?
Any luck getting these wheel skins off?
I actually upgraded wheels and sold these with the skins on. You’d have to take the wheel off and pop the tabs from the back.
@@TruckOwnership101 any troubles getting a lug wrench on with these installed?
@@johnsonja329 maybe with some extra heavy duty ones, but my normal impact sockets tucked in there fine.

Wow. Didn’t know they make such a thing nicely done... btw why not plastic dip?
TheMostHated 808 I don’t think you would get the high gloss look from plastic dip, plus this should be more durable.
Silverado Ownership: 101 they have glossy dip. But nicely done
Looks way better than dip
Long term speaking, does this do damage to the rims?
