August Burns red is basically a progressive metal band that decided to play metalcore. They have the single tightest live show I've ever seen, and some of the most technical and well-composed music in the genre.
That's my fave part and I never miss the chance to headbang to it when I listen to and relisten to the album version over and over. So no, you're not the only one.
Very true. But yeah, I saw August Burns Red at Warped Tour a couple years ago and this was the song they opened with and Matt did the EXACT same things (vocally) he does in this video.
@buckethead77 Jake was sick the week of this show, not to mention this is the last song of the night after a huge set. He's absolutely incredible live just like the rest of the band, go to a show and see for yourself.

@mlceltic i asked Dustin (rhythm guitarist) on twitter, and he said they both use Ibanez RGR 121's (but i think he meant RGA 121)...but it could've changed since then (i asked him about 6 months to a year ago)

@REVPR0DUCTI0NS That is what some vocalists do to add spiff to vocals that would otherwise be a bit boring. What he did there was the equivelant of a 'wah-effect' which made his mouth look out of sync because his lips move before he articulates each consinant.
I am not saying anything against Jake or ABR. The band is one of my favs and his vocals are superb. But I was just contradicting what 'plokainacan' said. But if you have noticed at the end of this video, one of the guitarist is screaming that line 'wave goodbye to the past'.

Jake only haveing one in ear monitor as opposed to two can make for lots of problems. he'll constantly be turning up the one that's in to fight with stage volume and we'll cause hearing damage. if anyone knows jake personally tell him what im saying.
@themelski he actually commented on one of these videos himself saying he was just coming out of a "rough spot" with his vocals and they filmed it right as he was getting over it. but yeaa idk they probably could have filmed a different show for better vocals.

There are people comparing ABR and Parkway Drive, and it makes me lough , because I dont even Think about who is better, even though I like more songs of Parkway Drive, they are more commercial than ABR, But you just need to hear this music, ABR is way better Than Parkway Drive.This people are the SHIT, The Guitars are sick and the drumer is a Beast...The progressions are sick and Breakdowns UFFF! Guys, don't judge Jake for him having bad vocals in Home, he was sick and STILL came out and put on a amazing show.

while you may be correct, keep in mind that jake does ALL of the vocals for abr. tim splits the vocals up with josh so that alone helps save his voice
