Great job on these. Mine showed up looking great. Awesome as an Espee fan to have Paul Ellis at ScaleTrains….bringing things to life that I never dreamed would exist in plastic!
Hey, how come you guys don’t seem to have any operator locomotives anymore? Like most recent runs for the Es44s and Et44s was 2021/22. Would love to see some new action.

My all-time favorite EMD locomotive. My second order of ScaleTrains SD45Xs should be arriving shortly in the mail. Thank you Paul Ellis and ScaleTrains! Bring on the rest of the regular SP SD45s!!
I missed the first run of these Southern Pacific SD45X. I hope that you do a second run of these locomotives. Definitely will get one of these locomotives.😊
I finally got to take my SD45X to the club display today, and let me tell ya, it put on a show! A 43-car train and it acted like there was nothing behind it. I'm not sure what the max is, but we're going to find out soon! My only, I guess you could call it "gripe" is the railing on one side is a bit wavey (but this is something I've seen with virtually every manufacturer that uses derlin plastic handrails). Other than that, this might be the best performing locomotive you guys have put out yet, not to mention the sound and lights are amazing! Also, the EMD demonstrator scheme is one of the best-looking schemes ever created, I would even go so far as to say it goes toe to toe with the Santa Fe warbonnet scheme, but thats just me!
@@Scaletrains I know, but even dcc ready costs so much. They are out of stock always anyways. I just wish there was a good csx or bsnf like y’all make but dc silent and won’t put a giant dent in my bank account. I have searched your website, and everything that’s appealing is out of stock anyways

Awesome looking locomotives. What other Railroads had this beautiful monster. Also I’m thinking about getting some for my future In model railroading and my Ho Scale music videos.
Question to those who know this, when they release these particular models of locomotives, once they sell out do they continue to make more for sale, or are these types of engines strictly limited runs only?
I grew up with the SP as a teen in northern California where these SD45X's roamed, although I don't have specific memories of these diesels, SD45's and tunnel motors were the most common loco's passing through Davis, across the rice patties on the way to Sacramento and up to the Sierras. I've been an SP fan since those days so have purchased a number of SP diesels - I hope to see the most common SP SD45 offered with the L-windshield and high mount brake cylinders. To this very date, they haven't been offered with all the correct details. It's a crime!
@@Scaletrains For some reason the classic Peas in a Pod SP SD45 has still not been done in a detailed model. They were bread and butter SD's in northern California and over Donner Pass, to be supplimented with tunnel motors and mixed freely. Athearn's first scale hood SP SD45 in the RTR line was from the 8900/9000/9100 series SD45's but thad a generic plow and lacking pilot details. Thats the best "common" SD45 SP fans have gotten right up to the present. ScaleTrains has offered the earliest production SD45's and the SD45R rebuilds - I sure do hope the next run of SD45s includes the classic SD45 - and Paul Ellis surely knows what I mean being an SP fan also, but of a later time period than myself - I am a mid-1970's through mid-1980's fan. SP SD45 from the 8900/9000/9100 series with L-windshield, high mount brake cylinders, etc. It's a no brainer to SP fans, but still waiting!
Are there any news on a future SD40-2 run in H0 in the future. Maybe one run with modern UP and NS units? It feels like an eternity since the last run.
Would love to see some modern, super-detailed, N Scale BNSF Geeps please. Or at least modern BNSF Geeps with ditch lights front and back plus operating roof beacons. Leave the roof detail to me as I love adding all the roof details to mine but ditch lights are a pain for people like me that don't have the right tooling. Geeps like the GP-60M, GP-38s, GP-35s, etc. Also, will you do an AC4400CW Ferromex in N scale like the 4572 with the window and windshield protectors? I could probably do it myself by kitbashing something like that in one of your current N Scale versions of this but it would be so much nicer if ScaleTrains did it instead.
My biggest concern at the moment is what happens to prices if President Trump enacts you tariffs? I have several things on order atm but am considering canceling if the prices will now increase due to tarriffs?

Morrison Knudsen rebuilt one SP unit into a quasi-SD40-2, replacing the long hood with one from a retired DD35. It was numbered 8301.
