I followed exactly as you showed. The brown rice came out beautifully finished. Better than I ever had brown rice before. And I’m 90 years young.
As a diabetes doctor, I recommend brown rice to all my patients over white rice... it has lower glycaemic index (rate of increase in blood sugar), so better for health and lower in inflammation!
I love how you explain everything in details.Thank you
+Dalia Rivera You're welcome :)
Hi Dani! I'm so glad I found your channel. I"m a cancer patient searching for healthy foods to eat during my natural cancer treatments. On my first visit I found at least four that will work for me, and another few that will work with just minor alterations. Thank you. Seems so insignificant, but it comes from my heart. Blessings.
Are you alive?
Great screen presence and a no nonsense presentation. EXACTLY enough information without prattling on and on. Thumbs up. Also subbed.
This is the best explained brown rice video. I'm used to making white rice is amazing
I think adding a little butter or oil is great... adds yummy flavor and definitely prevents sticking. And I've got nothing against some good, whole healthy fats... got for the body and the taste buds!
Very well done . I had watched a video earlier of a man who went through a thorough washing process before cooking his. You clarified that for me .
Try this: Puerto Rican Style Rice with....
We call it "Arroz con..." or "Arroz Guisado" (Rice Casserole)
What you need:
1-2 tbs Extra Virgin Olive Oil (or vegetable oil)
1-2 tbs Cooking Ham diced
1-2 tbs Sofrito (onions, garlic, green peppers, cilantro [coriander leafs]) minced or puréed
4-6 tbs. Tomato Sauce (Spanish Style)
6-8 Olives
½ cup Cooking Wine (or half a can of beer) optional
2 to 2 ½ cups Chicken Stock (or 1 chicken bouillon cube)
2 cups of Long Grain Rice
1 Can of Pigeon Peas (you can substitute the Pigeon Peas for a can of beans, corn, chickpeas, lentils, an extra ½ cup of cooking ham, or any other legume you like)
Procedure:
On a pot with oil over high heat, sauté your cooking ham until crispy.
Add the Sofrito and sauté being careful not to burn it.
Add the tomato sauce and olives and cook for a little while.
Add your wine or beer to deglaze the pot and add your rice. (If you are not using wine or beer, you can deglaze with water).
Add enough water to cover the rice about the thickness of one finger over the rice, cover, and bring to a boil.
Once it comes to a boil, lower the heat to low and cook covered until you see the liquid is almost gone and you have dimples on the top of the rice.
At this point you want to turn your rice ONCE. DO NOT STIR ANY MORE THAN THIS or you’ll get very bad clumpy rice… not good. (This is NOT risotto.)
Continue to cook until the rice is fully cooked through.
Serve with your favorite meat, and fresh green salad.
Goes great with pork chops, steak, roasted turkey or chicken; also great with potato salad or pasta salad.
Hope you try it and make a video on this.
Great videos and tips, congratulations!
Thank you! :)
Quick. Informative and straight to the point great video for brown rice 👍👍

Explain so well and clear! Thank you so much
I like to boil my brown rice or quinoa in some organic vegitable broth.
You are so awesome 👏 Miss Dani. Your video was easy to understand, informative. IE; when you said that brown rice 🍛 can spoil. I didn’t know that!! You see ! Amazing! Keep making videos.
Lots of brown rice info in this clip that I never knew. Thanks so much!
GREAT VIDEO! Love Brown rice, thanks
Very informative video. Brown rice is one of my favorite foods but didn't know much about them. I've always wondered what's the difference between short and long, thanks for explaining!
Thank YOU for watching :)
Thank you! This will help me out. I am thinking about freezing my brown rice. I notice it gets very warm in my apartment complex
You read my mind! I just bought brown rice the other day and was wondering what kind to buy and how to prepare it...thanks!
This was the best video about brown rice.
Thanks for this video. I've been wondering what brown rice was all about. I will ad it to my list of healthy foods to try.
Thank so so much for this video! Very helpful!
I always soak brown rice overnight before cooking it. It reduces the cooking time by half and also activates the nutrients in the grains. Then I use a pressure cooker.
Soaked in same water to cook? And how much time in cooker
Great information! I didn't realize that brown rice can go rancid. As they say - you live and learn!
Awesome video. Very detailed and great info
Thanks for the okay on the success minute brown rice. My family is always on the go so I know I have to use things that cook quickly.:)
I learned alot from your video now my rice is absolutely perfect
Great video. Excellent information
Hi, Dani! If you soak brown rice in the night, the cooking time will be much less!
Thank You for the awesome video 🥰
Thanks for all the info!!!
Your video was awesome! Very easy to follow, very thorough! Thank you. Just a thought... because the arsenic level in brown rice is so much higher in brown rice, I definitely think rinsing it (multiple times) is way better. :-) Perhaps the arsenic level in organic rice is lower, but, because the arsenic comes from the dirt it is grown in, it being organic may not help lower the arsenice level. Try
a Google search and find reliable sources that warn about the arsenic. I really appreciated this video.
I like the way she cooks! 👍
Enzo Ponon :)
Ty ty ty 🙂 love your videos 👍
1 love your explanation which was in detail i soaked 15m with warm water
I gotta tell ya... rinse or no rinse... it's still nutritious in my book. I can't get too caught up in the details because I'll go crazy. So even if it does wash aways some nutrients, there are still some intact... and that works for me;)
Sir Alfred Lawrence housewife doctorate
Have to be completely honest I had a really really excellent time understanding and comprehending your instructions
My first time on your page; I hope you’re still giving instructions
God Bless

Thanks for the info!
Thanks excellent video Very good information thanks a lot
Hey Dani, your videos are so informative! Do you think you can do a 101 video about seaweed?
Loved the tap at 3:12....Thanks for sharing!
;)
thanks for explaining
I just found your channel. I'm trying to eat healthier. So thank you for making your videos.
You must rinse and cook brown rice in lots of water because brown rice has high levels of arsenic. You should really avoid cooking it to absorb all the liquid because it locks in the arsenic
Love this info, thanks for adding the point about rinsing, and quick cooking rice...it was stuff I was wondering about. I wasn't sure if rinsing rice was just washing the nutrients down the drain....What do you think? Also do rinsing beans wash the nutrients down the drain??
as lame as the picture and description looked to view this was by far the best knowledgeable video of brown rice compared to every other boring lame Rice video thank you and I love the music thank you for all the tips thank you
How about giving some instructions on how to cook it and flavor it in a rice cooker 😊 thanks. Love your videos 👍🏼
Hi Dani . Is it safe to store cooked brown rice for a week or so? .. Thanks. Love your videos
Thank you my dear.
Purple rice? I never heard of it...lol Thanks for the 101 Dani, I learned a lot :)
Hi Dani, can you do a segment on arsenic in rice? Or what are your thoughts on it?
never knew the difference between long and short will definitely try short next time. my family has never been a fan of long.
wow, finally i know and can see the difference between long and short grain. i never knew rice could be stored a week (!) in the fridge? i thought bacteria multiplies quickly. or maybe i'm getting mixed up with white rice at room temperature...
thanks for the great video :-)
Thank you 😊
fantastic video
I noticed that if you wash and soak your rice, especially white short grain, that it is less likely to dry out as badly if you should refrigerate it.
Thank you so much
So glad I found you. There is oodles if great info. Thanks 🙏
I need help with frying brown rice, what do you find is the best way ? Do you cook it before you fry it ? I have fried white rice with onions peppers and it works great, but brown rice seems to different.
Oh and then when you kept trying to remember all the stuff that you can make at the end. Adorable.

What's your thoughts on cooking the rice with butter or oil? I had sticking problems and found a little bit of oil helps
Rinse my rice 2-3x bring to boil and shut off . When it cools put in small 1 cup container in freezer . 1 cup in blender for a few seconds and drink same with oatmeal when i’m in a hurry to get to work . Yes my doctor thought that was different also .
Never thought about choosing brown rice of white rice before this video! Do you happen to know the nutrition facts of the short grain brown rice? What is a serving sive and how many calories are in the serving size? Thanks so much!
Short and very informative video; just what I needed. Thank you! Also, you look like a blonde Emily Deschanel.
What brands do you recommend?
Sometimes I see green rice mixed in
What’s the simmer time after the 30 mins, with your method?
Hi :).
I haven't gone looking yet, but should short-grained brown rice be just as easy to find in stores like the long one?
Hi, can you do a demonstration on how to cook red rice? Thanks
2:35 I have always hated cooking brown rice. This did the trick.
Does par-boiling fix the oil going bad problem or does it still persist?
If I cook 1/4 cup of short grain brown rice. How much water should I put? I always mess it up! Sometimes the water is too much or too short that it burnt on the bottom of my pot! Also, how many minutes should I cook it?
Thx.
Thank you so much for your clear instructions. I've watched many other tutorials that say to cook for 40 minutes and the rice always ends up burnt on the bottom of the pan so I'm going to use your method. Thanks!!!
Do u store the rice together in the freezer or by portion sizes
Nyce sharing big lykee 👌 thanks
How long can most rice last till cook.6 months?,what dry food could last the longest.
do you just heat up the rice in the microwave
so cute
Is this going to cook right in a rice cooker?
This was good, but I have long grain brown rice, will use 2 1/2 cups water next time I do the rice, I cook for 50 minutes and then let the pan rest for another 10 minutes. I make mexican rice with the brown rice, comes out really good, any southern rice dish would work well with brown rice, like jambalaya, adjust liquid and cooking time.
Hi Dani, I loved this video. Do you by any chance have a video where you talk about parboiled rice? I want to learn a little about this kind of rice before I buy it, I have never used it before. Can you please let me know and thank you in advance. :)
