Step by Step Oil Catch Can Install on Ram 1500!

- In this video I will be installing a oil catch can on my 2013 Ram 1500 5.7. Oil catch cans are installed in line with the PCV hose to prevent dirty oil from re entering the intake manifold and back into the cylinders. The install is relatively easy and straightforward.

Dan Morrissette I learn something new everyday at work. You are welcome. Direct Injection engines definitely need this and those engines come in most cars now.
Nice video! I had a catch can installed on my Acadia...stupid direct injection...but I check mine every 3,000. Just a little bit of dirty oil at the bottom of the can. But better there than back inside the block. Great video FAB!

Would you recommend running sea foam through the engine after installing a catch can?

I'll check it every oil change which is like 1200-1500 miles. Really helps keep my intercooler system dry👍👍 when i didn't have one I'd take the inlet to turbo off and oil would just puddle up and all my intercooler pipes would be oiled up. 😯 haha Great video Pizza man! Good vid, I've debated converting the vehicles to amsoil. Girlfriend drops the truck off 5k past due for oil change..that's giving it upto 5k when to change lol. All interstate miles

I need to do this to My 99 Dodge Ram 1500 I think it needs it. I've fix the oil pressure gauge switch change the oil and it still random beeps some days or when I slow down I don't know why
Does the chamber with the metal shavings go on the side where the air flows in or exits when you put the can together?

I have a 06 dodge ram 1500 and from my pcv valve there's a medal line there is no rubber hose is there a kit ?

Did you just change the air filter? Do they make a magnetic or suction cam mount, that you mount to the hood? Good info Brian.
Keith Firebird No I installed a cold air intake. That video will be out next week. The hood is fiberglass so a magnet wouldn’t work. Thanks

Yes you can install catch came on pretty much any vehicle.
Brian, should I bother with one of these on my '12 5.3L silverado? Should I do a '12 traverse with the 3.6L SIDI?
Honestly I plan to put them on all our vehicles. I would definitely install one on the Traverse because they don’t breathe very well at all. The Silverado’s did have PCV problems and they were replacing the valve cover because of it. It wouldn’t hurt to install one on both.

I put and JLT oil catch can on my 2018 f-150 ecoboost 3.5 I checked it on 1000mi.an got an oz.So I will ✔it on 2 an 👀see what i have. It bolted to the battery box very easy.Thank you enjoyed the video. Are you going to put one on your wife's car 🚗?

Fixing to install mine today but wasn't sure if the filter side is to the intake or to the pcv valve.?? Great video
Paul Popp I put the filter side on the PCV side. From what I understand it doesn’t matter which way you install it.

Do you just leave the valve on the bottom open?
There is no valve on it. You have to unscrew it to remove the cup and dump it out

U drain it like wat u do when u change ur oil what do u do with ur engine oil

Preston A cording to UPR it doesn’t matter. I put it on the outlet side on mine.
