    I noticed two different Type S haters. One is the Type R drivers displaying sibling rivalry attitudes. Second is the guys who say it’s too expensive. But all cars in 2024 are too expensive.

I just recently got it next to a tyger eye Teggy which I wanted originally and was so underwhelmed it actually made me ten times happier with my purchase. I think another reason the type R is special is cause all the body panels except the front doors are unique to the type R and not from regular civic. Can’t say the same for the type s and regular Teggy. Not to mention that numbered badge on the type R 👌 it’s the little details that count.

I got the A-Spec over the Type-S bc of price plus it has the memory seat, power passenger seat, and moon roof. The 1.5 liter engine has just the right power, and I get 35mpg mixed driving. If you’re a true car enthusiast, you don’t hate on any enthusiast driven car. Type S and Type R are virtually the same car. They’re both amazing. And you said it right, Que, to completely dismiss a car because it’s FWD is close minded. There’s room to appreciate all drivetrains. They each have their own nuances that make them fun to drive. The haters are just close minded and uneducated.

  • @MrStip14

    Que, all us ITS owners feel that pain with you. It’s crazy how the car community is so full of hate. It’s one thing being respectful and disagreeing with opinions but the full on hate makes me wanna not be active in the car community. I don’t understand how the ITS being just a civic is a bad thing either. Civics are great! The ITS is basically just a Type R touring, of course it’s gonna cost more. Haters are gonna hate. Only thing that matters is how you feel about your car

    • @lionary
      @lionary ปีที่แล้ว

      Seems to me the most likely sentiments that could cause such hate are jealousy and the feeling one might get when, for example, he has been the only one to have a unique and desirable thing in his neighborhood for a long time, and then one day one of his neighbors gets a very similar one, and so the former might lose some of that feeling of pride that he had being the sole owner of that unique item. Jealously and wounded pride.

  • @jimsgaragetoys
    @jimsgaragetoys ปีที่แล้ว

    It's not about hate in any way for me. I'll start by saying the car is okay and the performance is good, while the interior is nice. I'm not a fan of the styling, it's way too expensive, it's only FWD, and that front emblem is huge and ugly as all get out. And to clarify it's not that it's FWD, it's because of the price they want for it being FWD. It should be AWD for the money they are asking and it will then be able to get the power down. I also feel the same way about the Civic Type R, too much money for a FWD with a crazy red interior and no heated seats and no heated steering wheel. On top of that I saw $10k-$15k ADM on the CTR and ITS so for $55k to $70k the cars aren't worth it in any way possible. The cars would be nice if the prices were less for what they are giving the buyer. I don't care about fluff, I want substance. But then, you already know that! 🤣🤣🤣

    I own one, I get everything is expensive now a days, Type R IMO is properly priced now, but the Type S is too expensive (I even paid MSRP with zero add-ons) for what you get amenity wise. But mechanically speaking, nothing else "NEW" at that price point checked all the boxes for me. I don't like the screaming red interior of the Type R, and prefer the overall look of the Type S. That said at this price point, I expect it at least have a few "luxury features" which some the AType Tech has.
    Memory Seats (AType Tech has this)
    Tilting mirror when going into reverse (AType Tech has this)
    At least add some USB charging ports for the rear (AType Tech has this)
    Built-in GPS (my android auto sometimes disconnects at random times and other times i'll need it in an area with no cellular signal and forget to download offline maps) [Only the Honda Civic variant gets this]
    Homelink Mirror [Honda Civic variant gets this] - at least it's an easy swap into the ITS
    Fine, i don't care that it's missing 360 camera, but geez they could have added a high-resolution back up camera

    Most enthusiast are mad because it looks nothing like the dc2 Intergra Type R’s from the 90s and early 2000’s. Their also mad that the Civic in general is huge now with no VTEC. At first, I said the same thing. But in 2024, im just thankful to have Honda and Acura (same company) still make new manuals in a world thats growing with Electric cars and ppl who don’t even care about driving. I remember being a Tech at Acura and being bummed out that i missed the golden era of being able to watch new manual transmission cars come out. And i was so hyped that they bought them back. A lot of people don't understand what this car was built for which is slightly more luxurious and performance. Yea the price sucks we all can agree on that but how many people over paid for the type r a lot im sure. People complain about it not it being AWD. Why would you want more weight when the purpose of this is awesome light weight performance. FWD LSD is just fine for this car. People complain about it not having a sun roof who cares. A sun roof isn't performance related it's the opposite because it adds weight not much but enough to deem it unnecessary and takes away from the head space in the car and could potentially leak eventually but I could go on and on but I will say I think they could of slipped in memory seats for the driver but definitely not a deal breaker this car was built for the driver not the passengers but they were nice enough to allow passengers to experience the performance. I will take the type s over the type r anyday looks way better than the FL5 which is ugly to me the FK8 looks way better. I'll be buying the type s next week. I already got over the expensive price.

    FL5 Civic Type R...Built in Japan. DE5 Integra Type S...built in Ohio. That's all you need to know.
    Panel gaps on the ITS is piss poor compared to the CTR. Shows you the craftsmanship and dedication to accuracy that the Japanese have over the American factories. Its a known fact.
    The FL5 just feels more SPECIAL, inside and out. The seats are 1000x better and more supportive. GO to any Cars & Coffee and park these cars side-by-side. The FL5 will get more attention. And I guarantee you in 10, 20, 30 yrs from now, the FL5 will be more sought after than the DE5. When this generation of Integra first came out, I'll be honest, it was underwhelming. It looked nothing like the Integras I grew up liking in the 90s. It just looked like any other cookie cutter sedan Acura has in its lineup. Nothing special about it. So when they announced the Type S, it didn't peak my interest at all. But to each, their own.
    What I will say about the ITS is that for what it is, a highly capable FWD super sedan...its wonderful. I can't think of any FWD sedan thats better handling and provides the sporty nature than the ITS, hands down. The flared fenders and wider stance definitely help in its appearance. It gives it more of a presence than the normal Integras for sure. At that price though...there are some other more compelling sedans that I'd consider. But if you want Honda reliability, a fairly limited run car, and solid performance, the DE5 gets the job done. Be proud of your car, my guy! Big up's for defending what you believe in! 😁
    I just don't think its going to age as well as the FL5 will in the future.

      I agree with mostly all of what you said. It’s just the special feeling to me which is subjective. What makes it feel more special? Being manufactured in Japan adds to it but I haven’t noticed a difference in build quality. I’ll get some seat time in one next month. I appreciate your input.

      People think that Honda Corp will let Acura do things on their own way.
      Everyone must follow the same build protocols.
      People blast the Integra for being built in USA but forget that the heart in their car is built here too. That is the ironic thing.

      @@Marbind I'm on the forums and FB groups. Although I do see complaints for both on rattles, can't say the same for panel gaps. Not quite as terrible as Tesla, but the inconsistent panel gaps on the DE5 are inexcusable. Their QC needs to better.

    I like the 4 door cars nowadays. Before, I loved coupes, not sedans, but access to the rear seats is so much easier via a door. Especially with my GR Corolla. The rear doors are small but come in handy. Cars are expensive and with the new UAW contract ain’t going to make cars cheaper in the future. Glad I bought a new car now instead of in a few years. Bidenomics & "good union jobs" = inflation.

    Brother this real and talk real remember the Subaru wrx came out first and the Sti came out after look the wrx never ever replaced or compared to the sti ever n never replaced the Sti name. The Sti always better so you pretend in to this 2 cars, for example type r came out first n type s out after so mean type s is better car because they retune and fix all the things that type r was missing. Love both cars but type s can do more things. Remember you are not track your car than you daily so be happy you were make the right decision on your type s ❤
