Relaxing to watch… Bellini is my first color chemical kits. I made my first color print last week. Still struggling to find the correct color filter combination to remove the red/pink color cast :) I’m learning a lot from Aleksandr. Thank you!

I used the Adox and Bellini’s RA4 kits and, for me, both are good. I didn’t find any differences. For BW, Adox chemistry is very good and very cheap. CMS20 and HR50 (bw film) are incredible.

It’s only cheap, rest of the thing questionable

Just want to say thanks a million for these videos. You really opened up my eyes to how good the Jobo system is to use! I now use it to develop huge batches of film in one go, and then also will start RA4 printing this week. I've been using the RA4 chemistry from Bellini to develop my Vision 3 500T negatives and getting great results

Thx for support, glad it helps! But yes, jobo a bit old school and primitive, but for sure universal system

That's the kit I bought last year. I prepared 500 ml working solutions, and used them for 6+ months, at 20°C and also 38°C (or 35 ? can't remember what's the recommended temp). Except for the longer dev time at 20°C, I didn't find any big difference. And the developer working solutions last very long (stored in almost full glass bottles, prepared with distilled water).
Do you dry your Jobo drum between every single test strip or print ? I never do that since 1st bath is prewarming / rinsing the blueish filtration layer and never had any issue. And it enables me to reduce the printing turnover.

I just rinse it and and use microfibre cloth to dry big drops, i used to make a prewash, but for some reason on some kits development became a bit slow and image start loosing contrast, but probably it’s irrelevant - prewash also should work perfectly and it’s better for developer storage and conditions

Be careful with changing temperatures, it will cause dynamic range shift on each channel separately

So you just prepare in mini batches? whats the ratio you work with each solution?

    • @NordicLab

I make 250 or 500 ml usually, it’s a bit less precise, but also works fine. Ratios exactly the same, just smaller volumes
