Can You Beat the Porsche Cayman S 987 for $30k?

That engine is not the Mezger. Only the GT2, GT3, and the Turbo had that.

Toss up between the 987 and an S2000 in the $30K range, but I’ll go with the S2000 for long term reliability and ease (along with cheaper) of maintenance.

I've owned both. Cayman for an easy win for me. Much better steering feel & a much stiffer chassis. Also prefer the power delivery.

For 30k I’d do an ND2 with coilovers, sways, and an exhaust

Both great options. I'd probably go S2000 because more playful and razor edge than Cayman, but one could easily justify the Cayman over it

@jubbalandcars that's the thing. I've never found an S2000 to be "playful." Low slide controllabilty and they simply don't like it.

i work with a guy that has an S2000, he's always having problems with it and some parts a difficult to get.

19s kill the feedback on the 987. Drive one with 17s and you get far more feel.
