Nothing is as cool as watching a Berserker charge a squad mate, only to have a MEC rush around a nearby corner and give him a rocket boosted hi-five to the face, sending him 20 feet away.
fucking love the kinetic strike cinematics
LeBronze James Me too, I just wished there were more unique ones
im not going to lie.
there should be a movie if they can make something this dramatic.
Imagine how awkward it'd be for a mech soldier once the war is over.
they said that the base augments they wear will allow them to live a reasonable life, but yea that's bullshit. Relationships:no acceptance:maybe
TheRocketman832 i'm thinking more along the lines of metal detectors and magnets being the main problem for them...
"Those who volunteer for these procedures will sacrifice much" AKA no sex XD
crimsonhead100 the girls still have their mouths ;)
TheRocketman832 Dude they saved the world I'm sure they'll get them a good reward
well looks like I will finally have Megatron in XCOM lol
ikr. I was thinking of the exact same thing.
Yes please, was just thinking about this. Contact with hostile aliens would hyperaccelerate the human evolution. Both genetic modificiation and cybernetics. I appreciate this. Now, go make a second Beyond Earth expansion please.
"You may chose to augment your soldiers biologically, or enhance them with the latest in cybernetic technology."
But still no head protection.
Thats the only thing i dislike about this game. LIKE WTF🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
@@timstauffacher8663 10 months late but... you CAN put on helmets on your troops if you want. There's like a dozen different helmets to choose from with the Enemy Within expansion added to the base game customization. I always put generic ballistic helmets on my rookies with the badass sci-fi helms being given to the veterans.
@@Lazarultos i actuallly posted this comment befor i found out about that😅 so yeah your right
Hahaha the councilmans voice is from that guy who does honest movie trailers!!
normal? pssshhh too easy
classic? its so brutal i'm crying T_T
***** I have been crying on "normal" long war.
DeadMarine1980
my comment = vanilla xcom
long war on the other hand.....
***** i lived barely so painful
"Long war on the other hand...." yeah
Long war = Hand of hell gripping your balls.
+DeadMarine1980 you don't know hell until you've played longwar on impossible... preach the Beags.
dear Firaxis. Please remake Terror from the deep and Apocalypse.
Yes that is needed
Sovi Nice We might be getting that Apocalypse remake dude.
:O Apparently "Advent" a game announced by 2k is basically one big ARG for a new X-COM.
Glitched A.I I know this is an old comment but.. It's XCOM 2
Ciaran Brickles Why dood, why, why dredge up an old comment like this one.
Glitched A.I
I couldn't resist... i'm sorry.
YEAH! Fighting sectopods is going to be so much easier now.
*comes across sectopod with a gajillion health* WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK IS THAT?
These men and women will sacrifice the one thing they are fighting for, humanity >:D
i wish we could watch the mech troopers fight in hand to hand combat
time to kickass and eat hotdogs i am all out of hotdogs
The only thing I don't like about this trailer is the rim-lighting on the models that is not available in game.
It really makes them stand out in a way I like about them, seriously when I saw a clip of that very same mech fight in-game it was inside a building and it was so super dark.
rim-lighting is the best counterattack to that problem.
I hope they include that eventually.
Anyways, aside from that I've preorder this game and I'm looking forward to playing it once it's out.
Memories from a distant past.
Optimus, Is that you?
They've never asked for this...
bullshit they volunteered
TheRocketman832
"Volunteered"
*spoilers* take for example the final mission, you can pick any and all of your soldiers to be the volunteer, meaning they all volunteered. Plus considering the cut scenes they don't seem too surprised by their change
TheRocketman832
I'm just joking.
I agree with you that lore-wise the soldier will have his limbs chopped off only if he wants.
But it is funny that due to gameplay, they'll NEVER deny the opportunity.
If the game really wanted to live up to the "volunteering" deal, they should have put a chance of the soldier saying "No thanks, I'll pass".
"Augment Soldier: Josh Smith (70% chance of compliance) "
This would make more sense.
agreed
Great, one of my fav games this gen. I m still replaying for 4th time and I m not bored. I definitely
Ahhh they're such teasers...! The earlier version of the Enemy Within teaser had bubbly underwater effects during the intro logos leading some folks to believe it was a teaser to a Terror From The Deep remake!
I'm pretty sure the Uber Ethereal's enigmatic warning hints at a remake of Terror From the Deep, or maybe even a full blown Lovecraft XCOM.
FAH Holliday
What's a Lovecraftian XCOM exactly?
Lovecraftian XCOM would be XCOM fighting the other type of science fiction monster, the Cthulhu kind.
FAH Holliday
Well alright, I know what Lovecraft is but is this even an official thing?
True, on the PC it resembles one of the older style Expansion packs, the ones that you could by in their own boxes, than a true DLC. The amount of new content certainly helps with the comparison.
If only the game looked this good(Or its simply me).
It looks darker and more advanced then it actually is.
40 new maps, new second wave options, MEC and aug units, and new enemies.
Must be badass if Optimus is doing the narration
Looks like they're referencing Pacific Rim with that mini rocket punch at the end.
Xcom enemy unknown is one of my favortie strategic games together with the total war series :)
On PC, It is not standalone, but on PS3 and Xbox 360, They get a disk that has EU and all it's DLC.
Its amazing how alike we think
Every time I deploy a Mech troop the song from rob zombie keeps playing in my head, "More human than a human!"
Same here. I left all that rookie soldiers that died during combat.
And just when I thought it couldn't get better
This is the add on content we needed for XCOM since the beginning; waay better than Slingshot
This is like where do we draw the line between survival and become just like the aliens we are trying to defeat
Where is the buy now button?
got to say those aliens that can phase in and out remind me of the aliens from the old x com demon of the bureau they never made it in but it looks like they made it into this expansion pack I wonder if their are more others aliens
that looks awesome, i have rented, played and beaten xcom: enemy unknown but that is just wow, in a good way.
If your arms and legs are robotic then you are someone who lost their legs, and if you can turn invisible then your superman, the only thing that removes your humanity is if you are insane enough to force people to go through those things, and seeing how everyone in XCom volunteered, it could be safe to assume that even if you change everyone into superman or the terminator you are not 100% evil.
it would have to be very restricted though or else you could very easily break the balance so certain things like adding new weapons would be highly unlikely
Well.... that escalated quickly....
Is that punch from Pacific Rim?
Actually that's a custom skin thing you can do in customization... The helmets.
the name reminded me of "Terror from the Deep"
I hope they introduce a MOD pack for the community. Would it not be neat to add missions, maps, and videos to the XCOM universe.
i hope there is more then just a couple of new options other wise it would be like a DLC
I'm so getting this dlc
so their making Spartan Soldiers?
Expansion pack... Expansion pack... Havent heard that word since the time of Age Of Empires 3!
Can't wait
That way the game also puts YOUR humanity into question
Don't worry, the console editions will come with the DLC for helmets.
I am glad its a DLC at least its not just xcom 2 with roborts
Oh ya reviving xcom full blown now
better than day 1 dlc that should of been on disk imo :P
if i had to describe modern xcom with one number it would 11
Optimus Prime in XCOM ? ^^
Asides from making your soldiers a heck of a lot better, I think the choice is just moral and makes you think.
Same thing to me, you download it , it adds more content
Whole new game for consoles
expansion pack for PC
hasnt there been like 3 x coms in the past year?
this is more like Enemy Unknown, so it should be good stuff!
HELL YES!!
exactly :)
Augment hell yeahhhhh
WANT!!!!!!
At first I was like "meh" but after I found out that I could basically one shot sectopods and fuse alien genes with my troops to give them alien abilities, I went "MEH, time to clap some alien cheeks"
0:30 You may choose. This is roleplaying.
Pacific Rim reminded me abit of XCOM but with giant robots.
if it was a download only standalone title they would move more units
A new DLC? Ooh, very nice. Sign me up!
you can actually say this in a nice words but I completely concur
exactly this gen you pay £15 for a dlc map pack almost half the price of the game and get 4 crappy rehashed multiplayer maps which equals about 2% of the game's total content. Expansions are rare nowadays things like the Dragon Age Origins: Awakening expansion, gave you 15- 25 hours of extra story content (which is longer that most games these days) for only £20.
I wouldn't expect a cod fanboy to understand there's more than one genre out there.
The announcer is from honest trailers
that looks more like it now its on par as SaintsRow IV which i still consider a DLC like its original intention
This X-Com Fully realized
This is an expansion on enemy unknown
The bureau was a fun and enjoyable game despite what the critics said about it
i am making every single main Jaeger from Pacific Rim.
this is more than better by Xcom2
not sure but I heard it's a standalone, at least for the consoles
To fight this new alien material we have developed a mechsuit to beat the shit out of the alien gene.
Only after the Emperor of Man deems it sanctified... give or take a few ten-thousand years.
Cool, but what is the "sacrifice"?
You body dumbass '-'
This looks awesome
I don't believe it is stand alone, but I do believe they are bundling the the original game with the expansion pack for consoles. At least that is what I have heard I do not know for sure.
is this standalone? b/c i got xcom enemy unknown for free on ps+, but i would like to purchase it on PC.
since when does optimus prime run the xcom initiative?
It wouldn't be XCOM if your men weren't dying left and right. Also, meld's pretty hard to obtain since it can self-destruct before you reach it.
I want to get this but i'm unsure it seems like this will make you're soldiers extremely overpowered and thus defeat the challenge but maybe the aliens will be just as deadly.
yes it is.
Optimus prime.. is that you?
Well neither did I but im still getting it :P
Its an expansion pack. Why not?
lol wut?
They just released a fps xcom game and it bombed hard.
This is an expansion to the excellent enemy unknown turn based squad shooter released last year.
he sound like optimus prime with a lower pitch voice
yap but how will it affect game play?
Good old expansion pack.
Cybernetics are not the same as big giant robots
yes it should be
Yes, but isn't console going to be a whole new game? Still want to play it though.
