I work as a service technician for Dell in my country, and the G15 series (5510, 5511, 5515, 5520, 5521) are notorious for freezing and not being able to boot until you open up the laptop and reset the battery (unplugging it and re plugging it). That happens during bios update. We've had so many G15 brought to our service for that problem that I've lost count. So be aware of that problem when buying a G15 laptop.

You're get yours sooner or later, trust me I wanted a gaming laptop back in 2017 but they was so expensive for what it was and mainly stick to a desktop. But thankfully now G-Laptops ($1 Grand or less) now are getting cheaper and somewhat better over the last 5 years and isn't as limited with performance. Yes, it's not going to be 1:1 with a desktop (My 3050 in my laptop have 4GB Vram compared to 8GB Vram with the desktop version) but if you just play the games on your laptop screen it should be fine. I hope you get your gaming laptop one day! Cheers!
Not a Gaming Laptop but I recently got an Asus Vivobook 15x for just $800 CAD ($600 USD) It has a 1080p Oled screen. 12500H and 8GB Ram(upgraded to 16GB) and 500Gb ssd
Man I bought the new G16 and it was awesome, up until it started resetting on its own after 3 days. I was so upset because I loved everything about it, 1440p, 165 hz, 3060, I7, I even considered keeping it despite the issues. But at the end of the day, it's a risk I couldn't take. Especially after reading reviews of it being a common issue amongst dell owners. I settled for a less powerful, less expensive, Victus by HP and it's been everything I needed. It's simple but I've had zero issues. You can stack all these specs on it, but Dell lacks basic functionality. It shows that Dell doesn't really care about consumers, and isn't trying to hide it.

@@truthseeker6804 Doubt it, from the research I've done it was a hardware problem having to do with the battery causing it to reset and not turn back on for a couple hours. No software update is going to fix that. Even if that was the case, I like the laptop I have now better. I can game with my laptop closed with a monitor. The Dell had to stay open because the vents were above the keyboard. Additionally, with Dell I'm fairly sure so many other things can go wrong. I'm good, thanks tho.
I have 3050ti version with 5800H ryzen mine had alienware mother board in it, surprised see dell logo mother board in that one. Been gaming solid for years its held up real good
I started out with a budget build i5 10400f 6650xt, and my craze for fps had me buy a 11700k just to realize i cant overclock it on the motherboard i had. My dumbass instead of returning it, now has a meg z590 unify that i feel like i stole from amazon, and now have really decent computer. I feel like I still need more fps though, so eventually either a 6950xt or a 4070 will replace my 6650xt.
yeah I was doing a upgrade on one of my razor gaming laptops and it arched to my screw driver probably 3 inches and completely killed it so I returned it saying it was dead on arrival and got a brand new one a week later
I bought this model 2 years ago. It’s a power-hungry machine. It’ll last you 3 hours max. And the fans. They could wake the entire neighbourhood. Maybe the one that they got here was an updated model, but the one I got was just meh.
hopefully this dell is better than the ASUS Tuf I got on sale months ago with the Ryzen 7 6000 series and 3050ti. even after upgrading the Wi-Fi card, changing it too 16gb ram dual channel, and doing all kinds of troubleshooting. she still preferred using the cheap msi with a tenth gen i5 1650 combo.
Ok, first reaction to the finish on that laptop is it looks like an epoxy-coated garage floor. Nice to see different color schemes on something that could otherwise be made as boring looking as possible.

Depends on what do you want to use it for. Is it for only for games then I get a gaming laptop because mobile games mostly are just the same Ctrl + C/Ctrl + V trash that is filled with constant ads every 18 seconds you play the game, And the simplified controls, and the fucked-up paywalls if you get far enough in the game... And most of them are "Free" for a reason. I just pay the game once and have the game anytime I wanted to play without any hassle.
This thing is criminal, with these parts and the needed upgrades.... pffffff it's gonna land at around 800 if not more. Plus it has a numpad - useless on a laptop.
i can't take this anymore I'm 12 and cant get any money or a job im playing on a horrible laptop everyday a lot of my friends dumped me because every game i play im lagging i can only play Roblox i lost all my friends over my bad computer I try to ask my parent if they can get me a console or a better computer and everytime they say yea were gonna get it but when i remind them they always tell me to stop nagging I recently lost all my friends i used to play roblox with over this the only thing i enjoyed doing is gone man

G15 probably one of Dell’s worse Laptops. X15 is a lot better and doesn’t cost all that much more.

fortnite is way less stuttery on DX12 compared to DX11
