Many thanks for the informative video. The alignment hole was blocked by a punchout seal. I pierced that with a sharp tool to get the hole started. With some difficulty I punched the hole sized screwdriver all the way in. To rotate the auger clockwise took a great deal of patience. I swear it was glued in but finally moved. Removing the swash plate was easy. re-assembly was easy. Rotate auger counter clockwise and click. All of this because a bracelet of my wifes got stuck in the swash plate! If I can do this at 90 years of age it should be much easier for a younger person.🙂
my auger and auger base are loose ... is this a sign to replace them or can i just tighten them back in ? Also, once i punch the auger to remove it, can i use the same one again or will water flow in through that punched hole? Thanks in Advance.

Still cannot remove the auger. I put 250 lbs on it, about to break it ! screwdriver isn't too small etc. It just won't come off and it feels like there is a snap ring or something internally jingle'ling around when i poke with driver..

How do you know if your base is broken? My machine isnt agitating. When i turn the agitator myself the enter unit moves, agitator and base but not my drum. If that makes sense.
I have this model. Its only 4.5 years old. I have weird black/brown flecks coming out from inside the auger. I ALWAYS leave my lid open to prevent mold. I was able to clean the base, but the actual auger doesnt come apart. I have it upside down and filled with hydrogen peroxide at the moment. Hopefully, it kills whatever is in there. I will think twice about the next washer I buy with an agitator because its not a good thing that I can't properly clean it.
Here for the same reason!! Did the auger get clean with the hydrogen peroxide? I'm soaking mine in vinegar now but I ordered a new one. About to remove the base plate 🫣
9 times out of 10 it's never just the agitator. The groves on the shaft will be worn out as well. Which means you will also need to replace the gearcase and hub along with the agitator base. You're welcome
@@cldub2cw yes but some washers have removable agitators to make room for bigger loads that's why I was asking because I don't know if this is one of those

Did you do anything special to rotate the auger? Mine won't budge
No, after removing the 7/16 bolt, mine came out easily.

I'm wondering the same thing
Did you ever find the answer? lol
Following if this ever gets answered lol
You will be able to reuse, no issue for water intrusion.
Thanks. Like your video, straight forward and to the point
Would you recomend a GE profile washer or Whirlpool? Agitator or Impeller which is least likely to have issues? Thanks!
How do you take out the auger and base?
great instructions!

I'm having the same problem. Did you ever find out what the problem was?
How do you remove the tub

Is the base have a spline in it too?
Yes
Or just remove the auger with the dispenser on it
lol, yeah you are right
You do not need to remove the fabric softener dispenser. That is just an extra step that is not needed…

*can I remove it to make more room for bigger loads? Or can I not use it with it off*
@@neverknowsbest. it is never good to add more clothes than it should have. That will wear it out even faster.
