This needs to be written into “Dave”. I’d love to see some scenes leading up to this interview and after. The anxiety and anticipation. The diarrhea. 💀
I completely agree. Really deep question and such an intelligent response. With so much going for him professionally right now, it's so well reflected to not want your happiness solely tied to your professional success. You see that with so many former celebrities whose lives go down the drain as soon as they're no longer 'relevant'. Or with people you know personally whose happiness was dependent on a partner who up and left. I think it's very wise to not want your happiness tied to any one thing. Obvious, when I say it, but for someone in Lil Dicky's position, it would be easy to feel like you're on top of the world and nothing could ever bring you down, when we all know that everything has a season, and if you don't have all your eggs in one basket, your world won't come crashing down when you're no longer the person on everyone's lips.
THIS is the kind of interview that makes this show truly great. Your show has become the ultimate litmus test. Some of those A-list celebrities are so artificial and insecure that, despite Sean's skills, I roll my eyes and get bored with celebrity neurosis. But this dude, this one was great.
In the all time ranking of "most thoughtful guests", Dave has to be in the top 5. The amount of self-introspection we see here is very unusual in a talk show setting. Kudos to Sean and Dave for an amazing interview.
Sean must do his freakin’ homework, cause his questions are always so perfectly personal, relevant, and fluid. Marvelous. As always, Sean did not disappoint for one of my favorite guests.
It would be mind blowing how much information they both would have in each other 😂 Nardwuar:"Isss it true that" Sean:"alright IM asking all the questions here" lol
I mean it's a funny story to me, bit I can't imagine being in a place where you could just FORGET 20 grand in a backpack. Dave is pretty humble, but even he can't help his privilege from showing.
How is it "privilege" when he's spent his entire life so far working towards it? You gotta pull out a dictionary my man. There's nothing privileged about it, he EARNED it. And if anything it shows how humble he is, money isn't the first thing on his mind at all times.@@polymer_curiosities

See now I was not familiar with who this guest was, but the great thing about the show, and Sean’s interview style in particular, is that it makes me interested. It gets me intrigued to the point where I’m going to check out Dave’s show and music now. What more can you ask for from a show? Seriously.
