Hey Jason. The original retras have a much narrower beam so it is easier to shape their light for macro shooting. As of now, retra also has more accessories for light modifying. beam restrictors and snoots are coming for the krakens but they aren't available yet
Starting to think this is not a channel for divers like me: I dive all over the world, always have a camera and photography torch with me. But I choose to keep my photography gear super simple, a SeaLife camera, sea life torch, or maybe a point and shoot Nikon. I was hoping this channel would explore how to get great shots, when to light or not, etc. but it just seems to be gear heads discussing expensive professional equipment and critiquing award winning photography WITHOUT exploring HOW to achieve the desired image thru techniques etc. I’ll give it a few more weeks, then will unsubscribe if these two don’t pivot.
Repping the Doctor Frogfish tee.....love to see it
Very cool! Thank you.
Matt, I'm curious why you prefer the Retras for macro vs using these Krakens for everything.

Kraken=Weefine=AOI=Backscatter=Seafrogs=Supe=Scubalamp?
Very interesting but that would be much more relevant with examples and real test comparing.
you two should have the same green screen if you're going to wear almost the same colored shirt! lol
I think what you are really saying is we need some dive T shirt sponsorship!
