    I love your crocheted items. The washcloths would also be great baby doll blankets. I've never used the Dollar Tree baby dolls, but I'm going to check how durable they seem to be and I may buy some. I'll make clothing, blankets/sleeping bags for them. Thank you for sharing your items for 2022😊

      They would be good baby doll blankets. One could even make little sleeping bags for them 🙂❤️

    About the marbles, back in October 2021 I found marbles for 37cents at several Dollar Generals,but not every store had them. One store had not clearance them at all. My niece in Florida manages a store so I called her. She said the Chain had discontinued the marbles back it the summer, but left it up to each manager when to clearance them. Once I learned that ,I hit every store I could and was blessed to find about 40 bags. 28 at 37 cents the others ranged from 50 to 75 cent. They each have a shooter with I think 45 other marbles. So maybe some of your stores are just now clearancing them so keep an eye out OCC shoppers.

    Great stuff! When I saw your cupcake pouch it reminded me of a doll house. It would be a fun pouch for a peg doll family! 😍
    Also hackie sacks work better when they are a little flat so it’s perfectly fine you thought one wasn’t full enough 😊

      That ‘s good to know about the hackie sacks! Next time I won’t fill them quite as much. Thanks for the tip 🙂. Also, Jessica also said the cupcake looks like a little house. Thanks for that idea also!

    Great Dollar General haul, Val! Sorry, you didn't see any marbles. I haven't either. But you got great stuff. The ornament kits are fun and amazing you got them at 5 cents! Wow. Love the nutcrackers. You picked up some very nice coloring books. Thanks for sharing your hand made crafts! You are very crafty. I love how each bracelet goes with a specific theme. I saw the handmade cloths at the processing center and thought they were amazing. So I love yours. The drawstring pouches and stuffies you made are perfect. Thanks for sharing, Val! 🧶

    I cannot believe you got those things for 5 cents!!!! What incredible deals! This will bless so many kiddos. Praying that God blesses you with lots more sales this year so that you can bless more kiddos. Maybe some of your boxes will make it to us in Colombia one day. (We are missionaries in Colombia and have the privilege of partnering with Samaritan's Purse to get boxes for kids here.)

    I forgot to mention that I found the pattern/how to for making the drawstring crocheted pouch on Simply Shoebox’s website. It’s really great and I have linked to it in the description 😁

      See photo link attached. Is this what you mean by finishing off with double loop? I haven’t had any trouble with the bracelets coming apart. share.icloud.com/photos/0f1FODafom51gsvJxcHEWj5Bw

    Hi Val, Thank-you for sharing your crafting passions. Like many, I love your little draw string bags. The 'cupcake' is so cute with the red button - like a cherry on top. But, I can see how it could easily be a doll or a fairy house too.
    I have seen the diamond kits locally and thought of adding some to my older kids boxes too. However, the 'wax' is a concern. From AU, I can't send glue sticks, lip balms or play dough. So, I figured 'wax' would be in this category too. 🙁
    But, I do love the idea of decorating some boxes with my own diamond creations. TFS! 🧶🎨

    Love all of it!! Those loom bracelets I enjoy making, but do not love how they finish off with the double loop piece. I’ve had my daughter fidget with one and it just unraveling everywhere! How are you finishing them to pack to avoid that? Maybe I’m doing something wrong there.
    Those Diamond stickers are so cool! I had seen the big Diamond paintings but never the stickers! That is very practical and fun for boxes! Love how you have harnessed something you enjoy to better Gods kingdom!

    The crocheted hacky-sacks are a very nice toy with safety in mind. Just use fiberfill.

    Hello!! I'm thinking of making some bead necklaces for my boxes. Been looking for a hobby and hoping that it will work out!
    Also may learn to crochet or sew hats or scarves. May look for woof toys/cutouts as well. Some I may paint/color myself and others I'll leave it be for the child to do!

    Val, you have been one busy 🐝 ! How crafty you are! Love the looming bracelets and hacky-sacks. I can’t sew nor crotchet. Now, I wish I would have listened to my mother when she tried teaching me. Diamond painting looks to be fun. Yes, would love to see your video on “how to” diamond paint. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻. As far as 5 cents finds 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻. You did well, dear friend! 🥰🥰🥰

    I enjoy watching your channel. In the pass I've brought Photo Boxes on sell at Michaels to make goodies boxes for Toys For Tats I always put a crochet hat that I made in them. I'm looking forward to seeing the crochet tutorials on some of the items you showed. God bless you in all you do 💖

    I can't tell you how excited I am to see your handmade crafts Val!! As I shared with you, I'm a beginner crochetedr. Your cupcake pouch reminds me of a fairy house! Wouldn't that be so fun?!? In your opinion, what's the easiest? The hat, the hacky sack or drawstring bag? I love your little penguin! ♥️
    And your stickers are wonderful!

    • @valswain
      @valswain  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The hat may be a bit easier than the other two, but all three are similar. Working in rounds in a circle is a little different than making something square or rectangular shape like a scarf, but you just need to know how to start with a magic circle and know how to “increase”. Robynn said the cupcake pouch also reminded her of a little dollhouse. So, I guess I will put some little dolls or fairies in it 🥰. I appreciate these kinds of tips and ideas so much!

    I absolutely love love all of your handiwork! I would love to learn to crochet! That’s on my bucket list when I retire. You are so good at it! I love those marble pouches! They are perfect! My son would not wear a hat with a Pom Pom when he was young but I bet some would! I would also love to learn to diamond paint! Where is the best place to get a kit to start with? Greats finds at Dollar General today! Woohoo, gotta love only paying cents for something! This was so enjoyable to watch! I would love to see a video with the diamond painting! Thanks for sharing with us your talent and love for OCC! 💕

      Amazon has a ton of kits. All prices and quantities. A smaller kit would be good to start with to make sure you like to do it. Yeah, the hat with the Pom pom will probably be packed for a girl lol.

    I loaded up on clearance coloring books at Dollar General..going to send as fillers to OCC..definitely download the DG app for scanning

    • @valswain
      @valswain  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep the app is great! The coloring books in my store were on a table near the checkout. I saw them just as I was about to check out. I grabbed a few as I was about to check out and didn’t scan them thinking they were all 50% off as that was The sign on the table. I def will scan everything next time. Learned my lesson.

    Boo…no marbles! 😒 Yay..5 cents Christmas clearance!! 🤗 Yes, you can pack the nutcracker with the rifle. You just cannot send Army figures that remind the child of war, full size, realistic-looking toy guns that can be mistaken as real or any clothing that would put the child in danger of being mistaken as a soldier. That nutcracker is a colorfully painted wooden toy and should be fine to send. You can send superheroes with weapons (in the US), so why not a nutcracker?
