Thank you for sharing our Love Letter Fillers project Christy. I'm very excited about this and I'm thrilled that people are already participating and signing up to send a note for the volunteers at the processing centers to include in shoeboxes. Let's continue to share God's Love and our love for His children and see how we can increase the work that we do to glorify God by working together as an OCC community of shoebox packers. 💗
Thank you! May the Lord bless you and provide all your needs accordingly to his riches in glory as you show God’s love to the children so they will receive Jesus as Lord!
I love putting together filler items (never have done it before this year). I've made quite a few hygiene kits, back to school supply kits and sewing kits. Love all these wonderful ideas.
Thank you, Melody! I’m having fun making fillers too. My mind is thinking about shoeboxes and fillers A LOT! I’m so glad you made hygiene kits, school supply kits and sewing kits. Those will be much appreciated! And the children may have a chance for school that they wouldn’t have. Plus they’ll feel God’s love even more as a result! ❤️
Some great ideas for putting fillers together. I got in a bit over my head this year and have more things than boxes (that I am able to handle packing/shipping) and I was looking for ideas on how to package nicely rather than just throwing in a box. Some items will stay here to bless local children through our church’s community outreach but the rest will become filler. I have made several pencil packs and hygiene kits. But now I have some great ideas for the assorted toys, hair bows, coloring books, socks, etc.
I love that you are making items for shoeboxes, and also donating items for children in your local area. One year, I didn't have much to give, so I focused on making a couple Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes, and 2-3 treasure boxes to donate to a local children's home at Christmastime. I had so much fun compiling a "treasure box" for a teenage boy and a teenage girl, who may not have been feeling very treasured that year.
I work on fillers all year long. When I was downsized at my job a few years ago I didn't have any money to spare, but I did have quite a bit of cotton yarn, so I started knitting wash cloths for fillers. I'm working again, but still continue to knit as many wash cloths as I can to add to my fillers. They add a lot of color as well as practicality.
Myra, that’s a great item to make for shoebox fillers! I love that your passion for OCC (and the spreading of the Gospel) didn’t have to be put on pause when you were downsized. May God bless you as you knit and pack shoeboxes for OCC 2022. ❤️
Christy, this video is amazing!!! I will participate in the letter idea, I think is amazing…not sure of an exact number yet but when I do I will put it on the site and also I will do filler packs like that, this has been really inspiring to me!!! I have lots of random fillers Specifically to donate to the processing centre and was thinking of making them into shoeboxes because certain things happened to much up so well together so now I will do this as I really like the idea of having items you donate that match go with one another and also to the age group you picture as well. For example I have things that I feel would be most beneficial for certain age groups but the processing centre needs to go fast with all their sorting and might not put it in the category I had pictured…I like the idea of certain plushes etc going to the certain category I had pictured when I bought them/put them aside…it makes the giving of fillers more personal to me, for sure.To God be the glory. Thank-you Christy and Michelle so much.
Thank you Karina! It’s so good to hear your thoughts about fillers. They line up with ours for sure. And I’m thrilled that you are doing the Love Letters with us! 💌
Never thought about love notes as filler item. Now I need to think about that. I have prepared 24 pencil packs for the first time for this year. But now think I need to attach a love note to each one. Thank you for sharing these ideas! 👏👏👏👏👏
These fillers are absolutely beautiful! I have some filler done also and I am excited to send it along this year 💕 Beautiful story on the note! That’s a sweet idea for making letters to send to processing center, maybe even add a special sheet of stickers in it.
Thank you, Melissa! Stickers would be special to include with the note. Thank you for all you’re doing for the Lord and the children! To him be the glory. 🙌
Oh good! Me too. This morning I just thought of this idea-to have all my friends over for a letter writing party. Eat dinner then spend an hour writing notes , cards, and letters for fillers. I love the idea! ❤️ May Gods bless, Melanie, as you pack your shoeboxes and write love letters to send to the processing center for the children who don’t have one already in their shoebox. 💌 💌💌💌
@@christym.814 Mrs. Christy, sorry I just saw your response. Thank you doesn't begin to cover it from me. I pray the same for you and all of your friends as well.
I got some things to do, but I'll watch the whole of this video later! This is one I know will help me get some ideas for the next time I go shopping! God bless!
@@christym.814 thank YOU for these videos! It's very helpful to people like me who did one or two a year close to collection week, but now want to be more involved year round! I was wondering if you have a link for those thick rubber bands I see on some of the boxes? Sometimes the box I get doesn't have a very good lid, and we normally use packing tape, but I think the bands would be better!
Thank you so much for sharing so many wonderful filler ideas!! I love many of them, especially the love letter filler which I can do right now to send along with our boxes next week! But I am not sure about the Bible verse being quoted, I checked and the verse is from 3 John 1:4, and said by John? I love the verse and think it's a good fit here, just want to put it right. Thanks!!! :)
I’m not an expert, but after som research, I landed on these sizes: 2-4 sizes 9, 10, or 11 5-9 sizes 3, 4, 5 10-14 sizes 6, 7, 8, 9 for girls and 8,9, 10 for boys God will work it out so the shoes get to the right child. Pray when you pack. I love that you are sending shoes!!
In my experience, the workers in the processing center are careful. Pack them up so they are labeled “delicate” on the box. Also, consider putting them in a soap dish like she did the sewing kit. Add some embroidery thread and directions for making friendship bracelets (blessings in a shoebox.com) for a jewelry gift. Something already made and something for her to make.
Happy Turtle, these items are for us to send to children around the world who don’t know Jesus. We want to send them special gifts so they feel God’s love and want to receive Jesus as Lord. Most have never received a gift in their life and never will again. It’s our one opportunity to bless them and we pray they will have new life and changed hearts as a result! ❤️
I pack 30 or so boxes a year and what i was saying my boxes will never be as good as yours. I dont have the means or a friend helping. I get what i can to help.
@@happyturtle8876 thank you for packing OCC shoeboxes. We do not think of packing shoeboxes as a competition with the idea that one shoebox is better than another one. Our goal is to build a community where we work together and support each other to make more and better shoeboxes to reach God's children to the ends of the earth so that they gain access to the gospel and accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior. We are all on a journey and I believe that the most important things that I include in my shoeboxes is my prayers and personal letters.

I've sent some fillers the last two years. I like putting little packs together too.
It is fun! And the joy of including a special item like that in a box when you’re volunteering at the processing center is tremendous!
I have a similar water bottle and I love it I do gymnastics and when it falls it doesn’t brake

Can I get the link for the magnifying glasses please? Those are perfect for smaller pencil pouches.
They are perfect. The link is on our website on the bargains page: www.blessingsinashoebox.com/bargains.html
What size shoes for the different age groups? I have a really hard time figuring out the sizes.
I’m not an expert, but after som research, I landed on these sizes:
2-4 sizes 9, 10, or 11
5-9 sizes 3, 4, 5
10-14 sizes 6, 7, 8, 9 for girls and 8,9, 10 for boys
God will work it out so the shoes get to the right child. Pray when you pack. I love that you are sending shoes!!
I enjoy making jewelry, but I have never sent them as fillers because I'm worried that they will break in the bins at the PC.

Me and my grandma and grandpa are going to volunteer wham I am old enough
You will love it! I’m sure. 😊
I’m pretty sure I will😊
Can you find out where the mini chalkboards came from?
Yes! I’ll ask her.
@@christym.814 Thank you!
Where do you find the tags that were in each package? Thanks
You can print them from BlessingsinaShoebox.com Go to the page called "Printables".
You are lucky..not all of us have a friend to send us things
I like real life normal people packing boxes.
The gifts are donations for OCC to give to the children.
