In this video, I will be taking you on a brief tour of Singapore, showcasing the Chinese New Year festivities right here at Marina Bay.
The main highlight is the dragon drone show titled "The Legend of the Dragon Gate".
In Chinese Mythology, dragon gate (Longmen) is located at the top of a waterfall cascading from a legendary mountain. Carps that could swim upstream against the river's strong current and capable enough to leap over the dragon gate would be transformed into a powerful dragon.
Thus the idiom, "Liyu (Carp) jumps over the Dragon Gate" (鲤跃龙门) symbolizes an uplift in one's social status or success. It is often used to encourage students or children to achieve success through hard work and perseverance.
