Just played like a DARK, messed up version of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe haha. Just a glimpse into my DARK reality. A full stare into Jay's twisted perspective would make most simply go insane lmao.
I think this entire hack is meant to be more Sonic-inspired with some cool dark textures. A lot of the sound effects, UI elements, items, etc. are also Sonic themed.
And as we all know, Sonic is very dark and edgy XD
It seems to take a lot of it from specifically Sonic and the All-stars Racing Transformed, specifically the music.

Jay does advertising actually entertaining. If I got an ad for him on any normal video I would watch it and not skip it.
My dad (who rarely played video games at the time) enjoyed playing Mario kart but he didn't understand half of the references so he gave them ✨️unique✨️ names. We eventually started also calling them these things, my favorite was for sure "Barky ball" for chain chomp. He now plays alot of pokemon and still does this, calling jolteon "Voltron" is a great inside joke between us. I love my dad XD

On the occasion of Jay revealing his love for blue cheese, here is my favorite recipe for blue cheese sauce:
1. Put 200 grams of Gorgonzola (without rind) and 200 grams of whipped cream in a saucepan and let it melt
2. Fill the whipped cream cup to about a third with water and dissolve a teaspoon of cornstarch in it
3. Meanwhile, season the mixture in the saucepan throughly with cayenne pepper and sweet paprika and let it boil while stirring
4. Finally, to thicken the sauce, pour the cornstarch mixture into the fully boiled sauce
Goes great with gnocchi.

I was surprised that the dev of the mod didn’t make the sonic color theme since their was a sonic map (also if you want to know what item jay was holding in 19:05 is a rocket from sonic color).
They did, it's the purple rainbow road track (16:51), it's based on Starlight Carnival, you can even hear one of the level's themes. Also that was the drill wisp in his hand, though the rocket one would've made much more sense

I used to call Chain Chomps ''angry black balls on the end of telephone cords'' (Super Mario All-Stars was how I was introduced to Mario). Koopa Troopas were ''turtles'', and since my dad couldn't remember what the Koopalings were called, he just called them ''umpas''. The following years completely broke my understanding of Mario as I learned what all the characters and enemies were actually called. Also, BIG missed opportunity not using a bike with Rosalina there at the start. But still, this was super cool; cannot wait to get into Switch modding someday.
