Man, i wonder every day with your tutorials, 1st you work perfect, 2nd you are a great man doing for nothing. Since i discover you, i have change the middle housing of my note 2 that was broken. Regards from spain.
This is how all teaching videos should be made, well thought out, concise, calm, without extra noise, and organized. It helped me replace a broken screen. BIG THUMBS UP!
Thanks a lot if it wasn't for you I would've never been able to change my LCD screen, by far this is the best video on TH-cam to get this work done your videos are great
no problem, honestly i just love watching these, when my phone finally breaks some day or maybe i want to do some trick stuff with my uni-body 920 i can simply visit your awesome place and understand exactly what is needed to go ahead with the job. Really appreciate these videos, keep em coming!
This is how all teaching videos should be made, well thought out, concise, calm, without extra noise, and organized. It helped me replace a broken screen. BIG THUMBS UP! and thanks sir.....
Hi definitely an amazing video and very informative, higly professional. I'm sorry for reposting this question but i cracked my glass screen and i need to replace it. The LCD looks fine so far, so please a tutorial to replace the glass only would be wonderful. Also have a question, my NOTE2 is the SPH-L900 (sprint), is it the same glass screen than the NOTE 2 N7100?? Thank you!
Really extensive work, Thank you sir for the video.... I happen to just bought the LCD screen only which is cheaper ofcourse and your video help me in doing that more extensive work on replacing the screen.
O my God you must have nerves of steel! I would have ripped something doing that repair. Still impressive to watch the procedure. Keep up your good videos. And thanks for sharing them!
Great video!! Do you think it's possible to just replacing the front glass cover? With out Damaging the LCD? I dropped my Note 2 and the front glass shattered in pieces but the LCD and Touchscreen works just fine. Needs your Professional opinion! Thanks!!!!
Hi mate - great video. Near the middle, you mentioned that you only need to replace the S-Pen ribbon / connector if your screen didnt come with it. You mentioned that if you got one with a metal frame that you wouldnt need to do this step - can you advise where to get this? Or if one is even available? I have been looking around and can only seem to find the replacement screen+digitizer. Anything you can do to point me in the right direction would be great. Thanks
Just love your vids! I have 3 screens with only digitizer dead - Glass fine, lcd fine, can the digitizer be dealt with - if so WHERE is it and how does it work? I've wondered HOW the connection actually works since there's NO cables connecting the glass part to the rest. So strange I think... If you have time (and know) please explain some day. Thanks Liz
Thank you so much for the helpful video! My daughter recently dropped her phone and the top layer of the screen seems to be fine but when I tilt the phone to the light, the black layer underneath (lcd?) seems to be cracked. I'm trying to replace it but I'm wondering if the Galaxy Note 2 T889 LCD will be compatible with my daughter's N7100? Thanks!

I guess im screwed then and Sprint's insurance will charge me $200 usd (if it works) for a replacement. I might be able to find a cheap LCD-glass replacement somewhere thought. Man, thank you very much for the tutorials and all the extra info!.
Awesome, thanks for the quick reply. Follow up question: So that I can order the correct parts (N7105), can you give me the list of part needed from etradesupply? I just want to make sure I get the correct parts because basically, I want to replace the entire outside of the phone (minus the S Pen).
Note II glass is about $15-$20 from ebay, same quality as original glass. Results can very depending on who is working on it and how much time your willing to put into making sure there is no residue left on the screen. all of the S3's and noteII's ive done resulted better when there were fewer cracks. Shattered glass usually results with some marks on the screen since you usually have to pick out the glass one piece at a time. Hope this info helps
could you make a video on the Nokia N95 8g? many people bought this phone 5 years ago and would like to replace the flex. And great job for your videos
I've utilized a hairdryer thus far, however, i'm curious, i am about to get myself a airgun, like the one you have, but what I'm wondering is, do i need one with different settings for heat? Also do you do any soldering on your own?
Hi, I really like your videos, I have an issue that has formed after glass replacement on my Note 2. I was extremely careful in trying not to damage anything during the replacement process and I did not use excessive heat either. The issue is that about half the time the phone touch screen will stop working during normal use and then when I hit the lock button on the right side and then unlock the phone again it will be ok for a while before it acts up again. First thing I did was a soft and then a hard reset with no luck. Next, I noticed the problem is worse when the 12 small screws in the back of the phone are very tight, I loosened them all a few turns and this helped it act up less. The pen always works by the way. I installed a multi touch testing app and this proves that something is up because it sometimes reads fingers that arent there, generally in the middle of the screen and sometimes this programs just completely flips out and reads fingers everywhere. So at this point Im guessing that maybe the replacement glass is too close to the LCD? It also does seem to be negatively affected if I bend or flex the whole phone, this also sometimes causes the touch screen to flip out of just quit altogether. Is the issue with the glass touching the LCD or should it never touch the LCD? I'm thinking this might be the problem. Is there supposed to be anything like clear film between the glass and the lcd when the glass is replaced? Any input is extremely appreciated! THANKS!!
It is an unusual problem but shouldn't matter if there's a gap between the screen or not. The digitizer should only pick up a conductive item like a finger. Putting glass or plastic near it shouldn't make it respond. Although you was very careful I would suspect the digitizer has been very slightly damaged during the glass removal
Excellent video real good quality. I am half way through repairing a shattered glass on my N7100 Note II, but I need some help please. I have successfully removed the cracked glass & also replaced the home key ribbon flex (minus the white bits) oops. I tested the phone without fitting the new glass, and the touch screen element is still working. So does this mean I dont need to add a digitizer ?? With the replacement glass cover came another adhesive part with "prokit Adhesive" on it. It's all blue with a clear fork is this a digitizer ?? Do I need to fit this part if the touch screen is working anyway ? your help would be much appreciated.
uf this one looks little bit more complicated.(risky) anyway might I use also for example hairdryer? as a tool ? But I`m not sure if temperature will be OK. What should be approximate temperature pls? and THX video is as usual perfect!
hey do you by any chance have a video of replacement of the screen with the metal chassis and do I need to replace the styluss flex with the screen as well?
wow fantastic.the your diy video is for galaxy s2 i9100? I have a my galaxy s2 with only digitizer broken....the lcd no damages..... very fortunately. When you finish the video send me a message for watch the your fantastic video.thanks
Im opening two repair centers and i was wondering if you had any contacts in regards to purchasing repair parts for devices. Also is there a repair school i can send my employees that you know of?
very nice video. i have the sm- p605 and i was getting the regular purple screen one day i was fixing it turned out dropping the screen in the ground i cracked the digitizer i ordered a new one. but i don't now if i should worry about the s pen cau i will replace only the digitizer i just want to know if that would effect the s pen function or not, thanks
Hi Le55ons, Just after removing the SPEN flex, there is another circuit already attached to the removed glass screen, but no mention of the removal/refitment of it?. I have a new screen arriving soon, but it is the glass screen only. I don't think it will have this circuitry attached. What is that part? And why aren't you removing it? Can I remove it from my cracked screen and apply to the new glass? Thanks in advance
Is there a way I can just replace the digitizer? Only the glass lens is cracked and I'm experienced in fixing cracked screens but I was wondering after watching your video if its possible to replace just the digitizer and not the LCD since my LCD is perfectly fine and buying a new one is just a waste of money.
thanks to this vid the replacement was very simple, followed instructions exactly.....but now the screen is black from boot up. cant see anything. tried to call the phone and i can answer it if i slide my finger across the screen if i guess where it is so the touch screen still works...its just black. . . i also tried the volume up+home key+power button reboot but nothing apears or if it does i cant see it . . . Thank you
If I just want to replace the glass, do I have to take apart the phone? I saw that the GS3's screen glass can be replaced without having to take apart the phone at all.
What is the function/importance of those two small black "plastics" that you put over the home button ribbon cable? I mean, if i don't have them it wont work? Thanks..
I think those black things are actually the light filters for the soft keys buttons.. So anyone know if this is essential to the softkeys buttons to work?
I am not sure but it appears that in this video you replaced the LCD and digitizer as well as the glass cover. If you only want to replace the front glass, do all these steps still need to be undertaken?
You mentioned "8:31 on other video" yet didn't indicate which other video. I don't think you're referring to this video we're commenting in since you termed it "other." Sorry for the confusion/ignorance and thank you for your help.
I dropped my GN2, everything works, but cosmetically its toast. Will the Digitizer Assembly fix the following if I order? - Home Button - Speaker Grill - LCD Glass Screen - Front Facsia The Bezel is also damaged, would that be a separate part the back housing? The Battery snap on/off back cover is also scratch, does that come with back housing? Or is that separate?
Just to confirm, the OEM Samsung Galaxy Note II LCD Screen and Digitizer Assembly with Front Housing (N7100) will work\fit with the following: OEM Samsung Galaxy Note 2 SGH-i317 (N7105) Rear Housing OEM Samsung Galaxy Note 2 SGH-i317 (N7105) Battery Door Also will the new LCD Screen be a bright and vibrant as the old one? Sorry for the questions.
@LE55ONS , I totally understand :-). I will wait your video. and my friends also have the same problem as me :-). your video is incredible (quality of comments, image quality, clear and precise explanations). Congratulations for your video. I already buy the n95 8g flex on the internet then I wait for your video. I want to keep this phone (though I have samsung smartphones) but it is nostalgic :-). Hello from France. Cyril
My note 2 has a ripped home flexor and cracked lcd. If I put the phone back together and charge it, it doesn't dispay anything. Does the home flexor prevent the lcd from displaying images? Or do I need the new screen altogether?
Replacing the glass just turned into replacing the entire fucking screen so this was helpful. Can't believe how awful that was. The digitizer never de-adhesed from the glass and just snapped off a corner of the OLED screen.
Ok not bad about 360.00, its better than paying $700.00 for another phone. I see they have the AT&T (N7105) GN2 parts for the following: OEM Samsung Galaxy Note 2 SGH-i317 Rear Housing OEM Samsung Galaxy Note 2 SGH-i317 Battery Door But they dont have the ATT (N7105) LCD Screen and Digitizer Assembly with Front Housing, so I assuming the one you listed is for both the N7100 and N7105? And will it be compatible with the Rear Housing and Battery Door I listed above?
hi, I have a samsung galaxy s2 i9100 with only digitizer broken. In your opinion is possible to disassembly the touch screen from the lcd without broken the lcd? I will buy only the touch screen new from ebay. Is possible? thanks
Where can i buy the touch digitizer board? I was replacing the screen, and the stuff underneth the screen broke, i assume its the lcd display and the touch digitlizer board where can i buy those 2 things at? I already have the glass frame for the outside.
you cannot buy the display on its own, you'll need to buy the complete assembly, if you buy one with the front housing it will save lots of time and effort www.etradesupply.com/samsung-galaxy-note-gt-i9220-lcd-screen-and-digitizer-assembly-18345.html
Hi so I dropped my note 2 and the screen won't come one but you can hear the sound.. How do I fix it if I follow all of the steps you just did will my phone b fixed
I've replaced cracked glass on Samsungs quite a few times, and I've done an LCD replacement once before (where the new screen came with the frame already attached and I just had to transfer the boards). Currently I have an LCD/glass with no frame, so I'm going to need to separate the old one from the old damaged LCD, which appears to be what you're doing in this video. For the life of me though, I can't tell how you're getting under the LCD with your knife instead of just cutting between the glass and the LCD. If I just go at a sharp enough angle, will I get under the LCD?
its not so much the angle but the heat, if its about 60c the double sided tape will soften and slowly will allow you to lift the glass and lcd together
***** I wanted to know why you have the low-cut back and you have to put glue ..... I have a display to which I have to do the same treatment ..... thanks
***** I wanted to know why you have the low-cut back and you have to put glue ..... I have a display to which I have to do the same treatment ..... thanks
My wife's note 2 SCH-I605 (Verizon) wanted to turn the side to side motion feature on, I allowed the feature then her screen dimmed then went off, When I pushed the power button to turn screen back on nothing? It had been getting hot near the motion sensor so I replaced with a new one(before the shut off happened) everything was going fine, But it shutoff like I said earlier and won't come back on. I can't enter any mode as it wont come on its unresponsive. I have just purchased two OEM batteries and still nothing, Have a OEM charger new still nothing? When I hook it up to the Computer or charger nothing no battery icon or LCD light? The SKU is SCHI605ZWV if that helps. All I want is someone to point me in the right direction whether its a motherboard replacement or what ever? Can I ask would a bad power button stop it from charging or showing the battery icon when charging? Can a bad USB charging port stop it from turning on? Need a list of possible things that would stop all functions from working and not turning on? Its not rooted have the official 4.4.2 update from Verizon.
hi i accidentally cut the upper ribbon when i was changing the screen. is that the digitizer ? so do i need to buy the whole set ? any chance of getting it repaired with low cost ?
yes, the upper ribbon is for the s pen, it will work fine except the s pen wont work. You can buy a new s pen matt from the link below and use code ETS2 for a little discount which also gives me credit www.etradesupply.com/oem-samsung-galaxy-note-ii-lte-n7105-stylus-sensor-film.html
Sorry to bother you but can you help me with my question. Why is this video called "LCD" Display Screen Replacement? I thought the galaxy note 2 had a "HD Super AMOLED" screen? Is this replacing the Super AMOLED with lower tech. LCD? Or is there something i am missing? Thanks
Hi, I dropped my mobile yesterday :( and its glass is broken. The LCD screen is fine and works fine. I called samsung and they told me that I had to change the the glass and LCD as they come as 1 piece and it costs quite a lot. Is that true? I dont know what to do. Im thinking to buy a new and sell it broken... What do you suggest? thanks
hi, my screen is cracked (Samsung Galaxy Note 2) the glass is cracked from the left hands side outwards, then under the glass in the bottom left, the white area is cracked & i can sort of see inside of the phone, does this make sense at all? can you tell me what i neeed to buy aswell? so i can get my local repair shop to fix it, thank you for reading this, please reply asap if you can :)
The repair store you show doesn't really offer only the lcd. You can get a new full top unit off ebay now for like $120, and entirely good unit with a bad ime for like $200, which is what that store wants for just the repair parts. Do you know of a store that just has the lcd for a reasonable price as that's the only thing damaged with mine. Somehow it's shattered under the glass without the glass being damaged at all.
I don't think its possible to replace the lcd because the digitizer is bonded to it. The digitizer is 0.3mm glass which breaks when you try to remove it, even with wire. Here's another site that sells parts www.etradesupply.com use coupon code ETS2 for a little discount which also gives me credit
***** You mean a separate touch capacitive digitizer right..hmm. Cause you're showing removing the pen wacom digitizer in this video... What's the point of this video at all if all you can get is the entire upper module. I want to reduce costs as much as possible which this video should allow but all I've been able to find is the entire upper part with the wacom digitizer and everything...so I don't get it. It should be half the price of what they want if I do all this work to minimize the parts. That store is still around $200 for a replacement, and only seem to have the n7100 version, which I think is the wrong one for my tmobile. I guess I gotta get it off ebay. Thanks!
***** Oh I did find the tmobile one, wow they have a lot of parts, and good photos. Thanks! I don't know, the photos they look exactly the same to me. Not sure still, and still read reports from techs saying the bodies are different or something, but the photos here look exactly the same..so strange.
Hi, i bought my note 2 in the middle east, my LCD got broken, i want to buy a sprint LCD/digitizer over ebay, is that any problem to my middle east version, i am only replacing the LCD/digitizer. thanks Sami
Saludos, Una pregunta. Calentar demasiado la pantalla podria da~arla. Es que tengo un lcd con el metal frame de sprint y quiero cambiar ese lcd a uno de tmobile que tiene el lcd roto
I had my screen+digitizer replaced, and now I'm having all kinds of issues. The screen doesn't lay flush and depresses when you push on it. The proximity sensor also doesn't work unless you push on the top of the screen. So when I'm on a call I need two hands to use the keypad. Is my screen just not properly stuck back onto the frame part? It looks like at 23 minutes you just stick the screen back onto the frame and it lays flat.
And the One, please. Keep on making the best repair videos on youtube. You deserve fame for your hard work. Wait, is the One even SEPERATABLE?

Use guitarpicks bud, top keep the glass for re-attaching itself ot the adhesive, which seems a recurring problem for you in this video

Yanne Amaral You don't need it but without it, the light on the touch buttons won't look right but it will still function.
I am not sure but it appears that in this video you replaced the LCD and digitizer as well as the glass cover. If you only want to replace the front glass, do all these steps still need to be undertaken?

work\fit with the following:
OEM Samsung Galaxy Note 2 SGH-i317 (N7105) Rear Housing
OEM Samsung Galaxy Note 2 SGH-i317 (N7105) Battery Door
Also will the new LCD Screen be a bright and vibrant as
the old one?
Sorry for the questions.

Do I have to buy the Adhesive seperately? Where do i find them? I cant find any adhesive stickers for my galaxy note 2 online
Hi, what camera you use to record your videos. Thank You!!
can you just crack the front cover glass on a galaxy note 2 GT-N71000 and replace that? or do you have to replace that and the digitizer? thanks
Cyril
is the quality or brightness of this screen any different than the original?
My note 2 has a ripped home flexor and cracked lcd. If I put the phone back together and charge it, it doesn't dispay anything. Does the home flexor prevent the lcd from displaying images? Or do I need the new screen altogether?
Thanks for the well developed, very informative video!
Would the adhesive still be sticky when I put the "broken" lcd back on to the frame? Or would it not be adhesive because it has been removed already?
If you don't touch it will remain quite sticky, but why would you put a broken screen back ?

Ohh excelent video. Does anybody knows if this can be done on samsung s3 i9300. I know that Chinese use some solvent to aid the separation
If you warm to much the lcd could be damage? Im transfering a working lcd to another metal frame
I MAN I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS BUT I WANT TO KNOW IF YOU HAVE SOME VIDEO ABOUT HOW I CAN CHANGE THE LCD FOR A SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE I717
THANKS
Thanks for your hard work.
Bought a new ribbon cable (home, return, menu) everything works but won't light up? Not even when turning on?
Replacing the glass just turned into replacing the entire fucking screen so this was helpful. Can't believe how awful that was. The digitizer never de-adhesed from the glass and just snapped off a corner of the OLED screen.
Same
Ok not bad about 360.00, its better than paying $700.00
for another phone.
I see they have the AT&T (N7105) GN2 parts for the following:
OEM Samsung Galaxy Note 2 SGH-i317 Rear Housing
OEM Samsung Galaxy Note 2 SGH-i317 Battery Door
But they dont have the ATT (N7105) LCD Screen and Digitizer Assembly with Front Housing, so I assuming the one you listed is for both the N7100 and N7105? And will it be compatible with the Rear Housing and Battery Door I listed above?
hi,
I have a samsung galaxy s2 i9100 with only digitizer broken.
How do I fix it if I follow all of the steps you just did will my phone b fixed
yes, buy a new screen assembly with front housing and swap all your parts over to the new screen
I have a display to which I have to do the same treatment ..... thanks

i will know if the screen from note 2 model n7105 can fit note 2 model GT-N 7100
I accidentally broke the LCD digitizer screen and I was wondering if you know where I can get a new one for a reasonable price...
HEY I WANT TO KNO MY GALAXY NOTE 2 THE GLASS IS CRACKED CAN I ORDER A NEW ONE AND PUT IT ON THERE OR DO I NEED TO GET A DIGITIZER WITH IT
The repair store you show doesn't really offer only the lcd.
Thanks!
*****
Oh I did find the tmobile one, wow they have a lot of parts, and good photos. Thanks!
I don't know, the photos they look exactly the same to me. Not sure still, and still read reports from techs saying the bodies are different or something, but the photos here look exactly the same..so strange.
Hi,
i bought my note 2 in the middle east, my LCD got broken, i want to buy a sprint LCD/digitizer over ebay, is that any problem to my middle east version, i am only replacing the LCD/digitizer.
thanks
Sami
Saludos, Una pregunta. Calentar demasiado la pantalla podria da~arla. Es que tengo un lcd con el metal frame de sprint y quiero cambiar ese lcd a uno de tmobile que tiene el lcd roto
Actual cost of repairing it in shop????
I had my screen+digitizer replaced, and now I'm having all kinds of issues. The screen doesn't lay flush and depresses when you push on it. The proximity sensor also doesn't work unless you push on the top of the screen. So when I'm on a call I need two hands to use the keypad.
Is my screen just not properly stuck back onto the frame part? It looks like at 23 minutes you just stick the screen back onto the frame and it lays flat.
