Hi definitely an amazing video and very informative, higly professional. I'm sorry for reposting this question but i cracked my glass screen and i need to replace it. The LCD looks fine so far, so please a tutorial to replace the glass only would be wonderful. Also have a question, my NOTE2 is the SPH-L900 (sprint), is it the same glass screen than the NOTE 2 N7100??
    Thank you!

Hi mate - great video. Near the middle, you mentioned that you only need to replace the S-Pen ribbon / connector if your screen didnt come with it. You mentioned that if you got one with a metal frame that you wouldnt need to do this step - can you advise where to get this? Or if one is even available? I have been looking around and can only seem to find the replacement screen+digitizer. Anything you can do to point me in the right direction would be great. Thanks

Just love your vids! I have 3 screens with only digitizer dead - Glass fine, lcd fine, can the digitizer be dealt with - if so WHERE is it and how does it work? I've wondered HOW the connection actually works since there's NO cables connecting the glass part to the rest. So strange I think... If you have time (and know) please explain some day. Thanks Liz

My daughter recently dropped her phone and the top layer of the screen seems to be fine but when I tilt the phone to the light, the black layer underneath (lcd?) seems to be cracked. I'm trying to replace it but I'm wondering if the Galaxy Note 2 T889 LCD will be compatible with my daughter's N7100? Thanks!

Note II glass is about $15-$20 from ebay, same quality as original glass. Results can very depending on who is working on it and how much time your willing to put into making sure there is no residue left on the screen. all of the S3's and noteII's ive done resulted better when there were fewer cracks. Shattered glass usually results with some marks on the screen since you usually have to pick out the glass one piece at a time. Hope this info helps

Hi, I really like your videos, I have an issue that has formed after glass replacement on my Note 2. I was extremely careful in trying not to damage anything during the replacement process and I did not use excessive heat either. The issue is that about half the time the phone touch screen will stop working during normal use and then when I hit the lock button on the right side and then unlock the phone again it will be ok for a while before it acts up again. First thing I did was a soft and then a hard reset with no luck. Next, I noticed the problem is worse when the 12 small screws in the back of the phone are very tight, I loosened them all a few turns and this helped it act up less. The pen always works by the way. I installed a multi touch testing app and this proves that something is up because it sometimes reads fingers that arent there, generally in the middle of the screen and sometimes this programs just completely flips out and reads fingers everywhere. So at this point Im guessing that maybe the replacement glass is too close to the LCD? It also does seem to be negatively affected if I bend or flex the whole phone, this also sometimes causes the touch screen to flip out of just quit altogether. Is the issue with the glass touching the LCD or should it never touch the LCD? I'm thinking this might be the problem. Is there supposed to be anything like clear film between the glass and the lcd when the glass is replaced? Any input is extremely appreciated! THANKS!!

    • @LE55ONS
      @LE55ONS  10 ปีที่แล้ว

It is an unusual problem but shouldn't matter if there's a gap between the screen or not. The digitizer should only pick up a conductive item like a finger. Putting glass or plastic near it shouldn't make it respond. Although you was very careful I would suspect the digitizer has been very slightly damaged during the glass removal

    Excellent video real good quality.
I am half way through repairing a shattered glass on my N7100 Note II, but I need some help please.
I have successfully removed the cracked glass & also replaced the home key ribbon flex (minus the white bits) oops.
I tested the phone without fitting the new glass, and the touch screen element is still working.
So does this mean I dont need to add a digitizer ??
With the replacement glass cover came another adhesive part with "prokit Adhesive" on it.
It's all blue with a clear fork
    is this a digitizer ??
Do I need to fit this part if the touch screen is working anyway ?
your help would be much appreciated.

    Hi Le55ons,
Just after removing the SPEN flex, there is another circuit already attached to the removed glass screen, but no mention of the removal/refitment of it?. I have a new screen arriving soon, but it is the glass screen only. I don't think it will have this circuitry attached. What is that part? And why aren't you removing it? Can I remove it from my cracked screen and apply to the new glass? Thanks in advance

Will the Digitizer Assembly fix the following if I order?
    - Home Button
    - Speaker Grill
    - LCD Glass Screen
    - Front Facsia
The Bezel is also damaged, would that be a separate part the back housing?
The Battery snap on/off back cover is also scratch, does that come with back housing? Or is that separate?

OEM Samsung Galaxy Note 2 SGH-i317 Battery Door
But they dont have the ATT (N7105) LCD Screen and Digitizer Assembly with Front Housing, so I assuming the one you listed is for both the N7100 and N7105? And will it be compatible with the Rear Housing and Battery Door I listed above?

I've replaced cracked glass on Samsungs quite a few times, and I've done an LCD replacement once before (where the new screen came with the frame already attached and I just had to transfer the boards). Currently I have an LCD/glass with no frame, so I'm going to need to separate the old one from the old damaged LCD, which appears to be what you're doing in this video. For the life of me though, I can't tell how you're getting under the LCD with your knife instead of just cutting between the glass and the LCD. If I just go at a sharp enough angle, will I get under the LCD?

    • @LE55ONS
      @LE55ONS  10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

its not so much the angle but the heat, if its about 60c the double sided tape will soften and slowly will allow you to lift the glass and lcd together

It had been getting hot near the motion sensor so I replaced with a new one(before the shut off happened) everything was going fine, But it shutoff like I said earlier and won't come back on. I can't enter any mode as it wont come on its unresponsive. I have just purchased two OEM batteries and still nothing, Have a OEM charger new still nothing? When I hook it up to the Computer or charger nothing no battery icon or LCD light? The SKU is SCHI605ZWV if that helps. All I want is someone to point me in the right direction whether its a motherboard replacement or what ever? Can I ask would a bad power button stop it from charging or showing the battery icon when charging? Can a bad USB charging port stop it from turning on? Need a list of possible things that would stop all functions from working and not turning on? Its not rooted have the official 4.4.2 update from Verizon.

yes, the upper ribbon is for the s pen, it will work fine except the s pen wont work. You can buy a new s pen matt from the link below and use code ETS2 for a little discount which also gives me credit www.etradesupply.com/oem-samsung-galaxy-note-ii-lte-n7105-stylus-sensor-film.html

Sorry to bother you but can you help me with my question. Why is this video called "LCD" Display Screen Replacement? I thought the galaxy note 2 had a "HD Super AMOLED" screen? Is this replacing the Super AMOLED with lower tech. LCD? Or is there something i am missing? Thanks

Hi, I dropped my mobile yesterday :( and its glass is broken. The LCD screen is fine and works fine. I called samsung and they told me that I had to change the the glass and LCD as they come as 1 piece and it costs quite a lot. Is that true? I dont know what to do. Im thinking to buy a new and sell it broken... What do you suggest?
    thanks

The repair store you show doesn't really offer only the lcd. You can get a new full top unit off ebay now for like $120, and entirely good unit with a bad ime for like $200, which is what that store wants for just the repair parts. Do you know of a store that just has the lcd for a reasonable price as that's the only thing damaged with mine. Somehow it's shattered under the glass without the glass being damaged at all.

I don't think its possible to replace the lcd because the digitizer is bonded to it.
The digitizer is 0.3mm glass which breaks when you try to remove it, even with wire. Here's another site that sells parts www.etradesupply.com use coupon code ETS2 for a little discount which also gives me credit

***** You mean a separate touch capacitive digitizer right..hmm. Cause you're showing removing the pen wacom digitizer in this video... What's the point of this video at all if all you can get is the entire upper module. I want to reduce costs as much as possible which this video should allow but all I've been able to find is the entire upper part with the wacom digitizer and everything...so I don't get it. It should be half the price of what they want if I do all this work to minimize the parts. That store is still around $200 for a replacement, and only seem to have the n7100 version, which I think is the wrong one for my tmobile. I guess I gotta get it off ebay. Thanks!

Oh I did find the tmobile one, wow they have a lot of parts, and good photos. Thanks!
I don't know, the photos they look exactly the same to me. Not sure still, and still read reports from techs saying the bodies are different or something, but the photos here look exactly the same..so strange.

I had my screen+digitizer replaced, and now I'm having all kinds of issues. The screen doesn't lay flush and depresses when you push on it. The proximity sensor also doesn't work unless you push on the top of the screen. So when I'm on a call I need two hands to use the keypad.
Is my screen just not properly stuck back onto the frame part? It looks like at 23 minutes you just stick the screen back onto the frame and it lays flat.
