The ship to ship combat in SOA sticks with me to this game. While not expansive enough to hold up a game on it's own, it was simple at it's core, challenging, and wholly unique. I always wished there were more ship battles

Right?! Probably my favorite thing about Unicorn Overlord is that it gave the player a lot of battles + enough unique battles. Whereas games like Ogre Battle 64 (as much as I loved it!) felt repetitive after a while. So, Unicorn Overlord was a great spiritual successor. And with Horizons of Achaea, I REALLY want to make sure there are enough battles and enough complexity to make sure there's more than one way to win a battle.

wow! I love what you showed of your project here. I love the look of the ships with the bulbous hulls.
You mentioned Sonic Movie, and it made me think SoA could really work as a movie or show. focusing on the dads grand adventures would be a good place for a new game to take place, as Vyce and Aikas feel completed at the end, and i don't really want to untie that bow

Skies of Arcadia gets remastered, but for some reason it's a rhythm game based on the dancing minigames from Sid Meier's Pirates.
