Great, educational vid, Martin. Took me back to when I was 16 (many, many years ago) when i used to have my Yam Fizzy in bits - most weekends!. I bet you saved a fortune repairing it yourself at home. Cheers.
Yes, Just like me, I had a FS1E-DX back in 1980 and all the RD range as well Love those bikes and enjoyed working on them and generally having fun. I don't think the same fun exists nowadays due to laws and speed traps. Cheers Martin
Hi Martin very good job on the bike I have been looking through youtube on help on a runner I have and noticed in one of your vids that I have your old bike still going strong many thanks grate job
i see these methods a lot but why freeze the bearings?just heat up the case around 100 celsius and the bearing fit easy.same way goes with the crankshaft.
The trouble with tuning these mopeds is you have to thrash the crap out of them as all the power is at the top end so they are no good for traffic. We didn't want that. This one does 55mph which is enough.
I had a TZR125 that I tuned but the powerband was ridiculously narrow (8000rpm-10000rpm). I reverted back to the standard setup after rebuilding the engine with a 2mm rebore and it pulled really well low down and still did 70mph easily.
on the water pump kit i bought there is a big o ring included. cant for the life of me work out what its for. Any ideas? Pedparts dont know why its in there either :) Any help appreciated. Love your videos. just started to put my boys engine together :) bit scary.
+spiderroot +spiderroot No I didn't, If you look closely, you will see the clear silicone sealer hanging over the edges of the case around the right side dowel . BTW, The bike is still running great apparently. Cheers Martin
Im from holland and got a lot of help from youre vid. But the part i really need wasnt in there. I need to know how to replace the waterpump. And you skipt it in youre vid. If you have a video of this please upload. Cheers from holland

u can get good tuning/ uprated stuff for same price as standard! u can get a 13bhp cylinder kit for less than £100 and a good crank for £75!

I can't remember bud Sorry, it was a long time ago.
cheers scott. it might help someone.
Did mine recently it has to come apart again as the bearings sound awful making a horrible whirring noise
at 12:22 you forgot to put sealer in the casing engine to seal the two parts together.
+spiderroot +spiderroot No I didn't, If you look closely, you will see the clear

Ah ok then. I use black sealer. Dindt know existed clear sealer. hehehehe my bad. Nice video. Im going to do the same this week on my piaggio nrg.
It does because I use clear sealer.
cheers tim.
Yes it is true, that Martin.. 😎 is the best, learnt so much from this pom. Thankyou.. bro. 👍💪🥉
uploading tonight :)
Please do!
You didn't gasget the engine when put back together
Yes I did, look carefully, it's clear sealant.
Good stuff.
No need to heat cases up to get bearing out just tap them out and you did not put any sealant between cases
Yes I did, this has been answered before. It's a clear silicone sealant, if you look carefully, you'll see it.
better heat up a bit cuz if u just slam out the bearing u can damage the case too.

Sorry, I didn't have that footage.
Who's from south London and can do all of this for me
sure
Dont freeze the bearings it's bad for the bike
No it isn't.
Your ovs not that good at building bikes u forgot to put gasket sealant
We used a clear silicone gasket sealant, if you look closely to the smaller casing before we put it together you can just see the sealant.
I agree ,your not good at building bike engines ,you also fitted the circlips in the wrong angle in the piston
