    I’ve lived in Pueblo my whole life, left for a bit and I came back here from Vegas. I have never been robbed, mugged, etc. Yes, there is a lot of crime, but there’s crime in every city. My parents live in Salida, and there is nothing but tweekers there. I love Pueblo, and especially all the history.

    • @jordancody6047
      @jordancody6047 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Alot of tweekers? Hmm sounds like pueblo to me. Funny how per capital we are the most violent city, and our homicide rate is through the roof. Yes there are worse places but pueblo has changed and not for the good. The history here is awsome other then that I hate pueblo and I was raised her my whole life.

Also I can afford to live in Denver or anywhere but I choose Pueblo because I get to live cheap and have everything the other cities have in a short hour or 2 drive. I find people spending all that money kinda silly. I can buy a bunch of land and a house for the price people are paying for a subdivision house in Denver. Eventually, these get better because of housing demand. I heard that there are some very good government programs in or heading to Pueblo. Then, there is a great chance that with some good economic development it will attract a notable corporation to move its headquarters to Pueblo. I think anyone who invests there is smart.

      “High” is relative. For the Southwest? Yeah. But considering the fact that the Southwest is one of the least densely populated regions of the US, and there are much more dangerous cities in the Pacific Northwest, Deep South, the Midwest, and the Northeast? It’s actually not that bad. Also, the crime in Pueblo is greatly exaggerated. Property crime, and theft are our top crimes. But you’re less likely to be the victim of a drive by, or involved in a mass shooting than in Aurora, Denver, Colorado Springs, or even Boulder.

Pueblo is considered one of the top 50 most dangerous places to live in the US, though I've never directly experienced it living here, there is a quite a bit of crime and a good amount of homeless nowadays. They call Pueblo "Steel City" for the steel mill and some would call it "STEAL City". Can't leave anything out and cars are constantly being broken into/stolen/siphoned. If you don't like humid summers, Pueblo won't be your cup of tea. Pueblo rentals are NOT cheap, and there are no PROS of living here. Lake Pueblo is a joke. That's a pond compared to Lake Mead in Nevada, Lake of The Woods in Oregon... Pueblo is NOT what people say it is as far as the PROS here. The traffic on I-25 is always stuffy, there's always wrecks on I-25, because these Pueblo natives can't drive for shit. Careless drivers, and they don't watch out for pedestrians, dogs, or anything else that runs into the street. Not too long ago, there was an old man's body found by the Pueblo reservoir ditch. He mentioned Bessemer. I live in the Bessemer area off Northern and Wabash. Sucky. Stay out of Bessemer park, don't eat at Taco Stop, they don't know what real food is. Passkey, never been there, but if I want sub sandwiches, I'll go to Subway. Don't eat at the Burger King on Northern, their food will make you sick, and if you are craving McDonalds and happen to be shopping at the BIG Walmart on Northern Avenue, use the drive thru of McDonalds which is right across the parking lot from Walmart, do not go in to eat, because they don't clean off their tables, their floors are always nasty, and there are incessant flies buzzing around in there. This town is NOT good. You wanna get sick, go eat at Popeye's, drink Arby's moldy, mildew shakes, eat Adolfo's nasty wannabe-Mexican food. They don't wash their hands, nor wear gloves or hairnets in that sick place. Jersey Mike's is nasty, don't eat there. I'm telling you from experience, this town is not that great, and when he said "We don't have the loud traffic in the city", buddy I live really close to Northern Avenue, and there is LOUD traffic every night, gets worse on the weekends. Tweakers rule the streets, and heroin junkies too, you'll see a lot of beggars and addicts hanging out at each 7-11 location here. And, the question you'll hear the most when you're walking around Pueblo, is: "Do you have a cigarette?" Blech. Dude, some people love this town, and for the life of me, I cannot and will not ever understand it. I DO, however, enjoy the Riverwalk at night when it's all lit up, and The Green Solution dispensary is the shit. Best dispensary in town. Other than that, oh no, you'll tire of Pueblo very quickly. I've lived here since December of 2013, and I've hated Pueblo since I set foot here off the Greyhound bus. Just came here to get clean and sober from Oregon, and to help my mom out financially but she just recently passed away in September of 2021, so now I have no reason to be here. I just can't figure out how to get out of here. I wanna leave Colorado so bad. This town is hell. I wish I had the transportation and financial means to get out of here and go back to Las Vegas where I was raised and never look back. No offense to those who like it here, but it's not for me. Especially since it snows here. I left Oregon for the same reason. Just going back to the desert is where my heart is. Gotta go follow it. If Colorado is for you, great. It's obviously not for me.

      pretty slim most are 14-16 an hour but yet again depends on attitude and perspective. most importantly your skill set... here in ga you could get a job for 7.50 an hour even tho most fast food is about 9 now construction starting out 10-14 an hour... rent is 800 for a really shady place 1200+ suburbs (1800 in atlanta or wealthy places) for a house 3 beds 2 bath roughly and your neighbors could still sell drugs or the youth of the neighborhood could still break in or meth heads could steal everything out your car... so colorado doing minimum wage at 12 and some change isnt nearly as bad as some places all considered most people feel like they should have 20 an hour and not have to work hard for that money... when in reality a couple working 40 hours a week at 15 an hour could do well living within their means and still put up over 10k a year maybe thats not much but if your more qualified you could make 20+ an hour easily with a typical (in ga it is) 45 minute to an hour commute and live pretty well off without buying brand new cars and the biggest newest luxuries

    4.40%
    Pueblo County, CO Unemployment Rate is at 4.40%, compared to 3.90% last month and 4.20% last year. This is lower than the long term average of 6.69%. With a crime rate of 70 per one thousand residents, Pueblo has one of the highest crime rates in America compared to all communities of all sizes - from the smallest towns to the very largest cities. One's chance of becoming a victim of either violent or property crime here is one in 14. In 2019, Pueblo had the third-largest share of people experiencing homelessness in Colorado's non-metro counties with 15%. Only Larimer and Mesa counties had higher shares at 22% and 16%, respectively.
