You can have both. It takes no time to get to Pueblo proper. Living in Pueblo West you can easily raise a family. I can cut my kids loose and worry very little about what they're up to. I'd imagine living in the city is great for young couples and singles. Pueblo West is where you take your family when you want to have an acre- or five- or like country style living with the accessibility of urban living to boot. You can also jump on I-25 on exit 108 and be smooth sailing into Pueblo.
Also neglected to mention far less crime in PW vs Pueblo. No homeless dudes pissing on my car in PW in front of my kids...

Move to pueblo west if you wanna live in an unwalkable suburban desert scape. Pueblo has its rough spots, but at least you can walk to the store

I moved to Pueblo in 2014 and I love it here. I have never had any problems at all, and I love the fact that I can get anywhere I need to go in 15 or 20 minutes try that in Denver. Pueblo West is a dusty dry windy town with little to no character. It's been my experience that some who live in Pueblo West look down on those who live in pueblo. When I first moved here, I was looking for a contractor to do some bathroom remodeling. One gal came to my house, and I asked her if she lived in Pueblo she said, "oh no I live in pueblo west" Being new to Pueblo and not knowing the difference I said "so you do live in Pueblo? Again, she corrected me saying "Oh no I live in Pueblo West". Pueblo is the biggest little town you can live in, in Colorado. I have good neighbors who have become great friends and to date I have never regretted moving here. As a matter of fact, when I go to Denver to visit after a few days I have had enough and can't wait to get back to my home in Pueblo. I do feel at home here, and no city I know of does the 4th of July or Halloween like Pueblo. Like any city in America, you have good and bad areas and I for one think Pueblo gets a bad rap.
Side note: You can still open carry here in Pueblo. I moved here from Littleton where it's not allowed same thing in Denver no real freedom, Denver is like living in LA no thank you, it's not for me.

Came to Colorado looking for a home to purchase, in the week we were here to find a home. Alex was the Zillow contact, he was very nice at 1st and showed us a few homes one day. He told us to call the next day and he would be available. Sent him a few homes the next day & he left us hanging. When my husband texted him again he said he had been burned too many times showing homes. If you want someone to leave you hanging, call this guy, otherwise, find someone who doesn’t see you as a waste of time!

I guess the tweakers and homeless in Pueblo really stand out. Most week nights, downtown Pueblo is empty but not because it’s a bad city but because the locals don’t seem to like downtown. It has restaurants and a river walk but nobody comes. Pueblo has potential but locals need to actually use the city 😂

@@stevewillis1916 and i totally agree. Everytime I've been in pueblo I've had a great time and was never bothered by the homless population there. If theres a place in colorado i wont go its Trinidad. My first time there people were selling heroin on the corner and folks were getting high about 20ft away. But I live in Texas so both trinidad and pueblo honless are no where as bad as out here in Dallas

Moving there right now. Its the last affordable place in Colorado but they're trying to clean up the city and it won't be long til its not affordable. It reminds me very much of Austin Texas 30 yrs ago before it got huge. If people actually went there and saw it instead of just talking shit without even having been there, they'd see its cool. I've lived in many bigger cities and they were all more over run with homeless and crime than Pueblo. But maybe everyone says it sucks to try and keep people from flocking there. I think its a great city

Pueblo is one of the worst cities to live in the USA with a high chance of being robbed or assaulted. The schools are horrible with an average of 10% college ready. Pueblo is full of trash and trashy people. Pueblo doesn’t like people from out of town and city data just came out that most people moving to Colorado are pueblo relatives. Pueblo parks are filled with trash or gangs. Kids hate pueblo and want to leave. The drugs and alcohol are some of the highest. Folks don’t move to pueblo, most people leave within 2 years of moving to pueblo as their are no real jobs and the jobs that are here are low paying. Poverty rate is at 17 plus percent. If you have kids this is not a place that you want to raise kids.
Unless you want them to be bullied, have a high chance of drugs and gangs.
