Search Party Update 4: Susan Powell (2/8/2022)

- End of Day 8, of the excavation of the IronSides mine shaft.
Further digging at what might have been the bottom reveals that we excavated about 30 feet of material on ANOTHER birds nest. The shaft continues down through 2 more small birds nests to the bottom. We have found several bones including 2 pieces of vertebrate, which are going to be checked if human or animal.
You have a TH-cam! This makes me very happy. Subscribed as fast as I could find the button lol. Your episode on HeavyDSparks was my favorite of all time. Thanks for your work here, you are a huge asset to the search.

Brought a tear to my eye when I found out Susan father came out to the shaft. You guys are doing a wonderful project whether it's a excavation project or turns into a recovery project.

I hope this is well documented so a production of your work can be picked up by a network. Your efforts deserve to be recognized! You are working so hard towards someone else’s benefit. Susan’s family needs closure. This case was an exhausting, grueling and emotionally tragic story. I pray for you and your co workers.

I know you guys did a super valiant effort on clearing that mine shaft, but there's a possibility that the bones were from an animal like a coyote and the burning of the mine may have been a decoy, there is also a possibility that she was dismembers for easier moving and easier hiding and burying of the body parts meaning that they are hide much deeper and harder to get to. I believe this because of the video I saw of the guy that went deep into the 4 metal mine, the mine Dave showed it, in one of his videos. This mine had the vertical shaft but also had 2 side shafts that actually exited out the side of the mountain. Once inside there are so many horizontal side shafts, one on top of the other that the upper ones looked like some of them were deliberately caved in onto the lower ones. There was one spot that had loose gravel over it and then someone laid boards over it as a way that no one would disturb the gravel. The kind of passages that are in there are so narrow and dangerous that I don't even think Dave will be able to fit down some of them and then the guy would come to what he thought was a dead end, but from what I saw was a deliberate cave in. He found in the middle of the video a pair of rubber pants, like raingear that was looking really old, but 3/4 of the way through the video he found 2 different pieces of jeans that were newer looking, but they attempted to burn them, but with no O2 they didn't burn up very well. I saw a label on the jeans, but he didn't get the camera close enough to read the label, but I think they were women's pants in my opinion. He shook them off and I don't know why he did that and then put them in a rusty old can and was going to have them analyzed. The guy seemed to be smaller and went all most everywhere in there, I thought he was going to get himself lost. Please Forward this comment to Dave or show it to him. Your job has just begun, because what I saw, I think she's there. I don't want to be too graphic, but you may not ever find her skull, hands or feet or any trace of any tattoos or piercings. You guys need to team up with this other guy, he's mine savvy and is looking for spots she could be buried but burying someone in a cave is like burying someone in a crawl space, very hard to tell what has been dug and disturbed, it all looks the same. Be very, very careful in there and you'll need wood to shore up a lot of areas. If she's anywhere she's in there. Your friend Todd Swenson, P.S. You guys are on the right track. If her body is not there she's likely in a similar place in that area. He had the two boys with him so it's unlikely that he buried the body. That leaves a ready made hole like the one you're working in. God Bless You All.

Its important to raise awareness of the importance of any info ppl may have about missing persons.Sometimes folks may remember something they dont know is relevant or helpful in finding someone.PLEASE come forward with any info you may have about any missing person.If not why not write it down anonymously and post it to police...it may give closure to good familly's and friends who need answers about their loved ones.put yourself in their shoes and do the right thing today.

I seem to remember that Allen was searching for a way to make alternative energy on his mountain fortress, I was thinking about that and I have to say he's uniquely placed to make a pretty impressive setup, I can't wait to see what he picks, I know what I would do but Allen is pretty resourceful and his alternative thinking makes for some cool options.
