    I'm with you on your definition of "treasure" - if the sand and river stones are usable for tons of concreting work - that's a massive win right there! Perhaps the seam might even come out somewhere near where the Sany is parked? Keep up the amazing work Alan! Wizard stuff!

    Most people are probably thinking that's bullshit isn't treasure but if you have ever had to buy any type of aggregate you will know how expensive that it is and then you have to have it delivered extra cost especially if your place is miles away from the town this is truly a gift for this man God is good, I own a very small excavation business 2 man operation father and son so I know how much of a gift that this stone mix is good job brother keep on digging if I lived closer to you I would definitely love to come be a part of your build but I live in Maryland so it's just a little farther away good luck and God bless

      Took the words out of my mouth too! I'm wondering HOW river gravel got there too. The only 2 options I can think of both seem pretty unlikely. Either the old miners carted it up for some reason, that would be a hell of a job or, it was a river bed at some point in the distant past, both seem very unlikely but it has to be one, either way, just straight cement and yeah, treasure alright. Possibly double treasure if it's carrying gold too.

    Water smoothed rock.....interesting, especially on top of a mountain! At some point in geological history this must have been a drastically different landscape with a river that filled up a pocket in the bedrock. If that is the case, then could it be assumed that there might be gold mixed in with that material? Deposited at the same time the sand/rock was? Have you ever tried panning a bit of it?

    I think your newly found treasure might be hiding something that you may not have expected to find. You might want to pan out some of what you pulled out of that seam. With river rock, gravel, and sand all being present in the same spot, and a deep hole that could have been a waterfall millions of years ago, you just might find some gold or other precious finds. There's probably a very good reason that someone left you with those old ore carts and tracks.

    That gravel is obviously part of an old river channel. I'm wondering if it was a plunge pool beneath a water fall in the past. Guessing not due to the lack of larger boulders, but either way that bedrock has clearly been uplifted and faulted so that was not the top of a mountain in the past. You can see the upturned beds in the shots of the mountain taken from a distance. They look like spines running along the center areas of some of the shots. Materials up there are a treasure! Good work!

    Allen, this looks like a prehistoric sinkhole, eventually filled with a river gravel. If it indeed was carved out by a river flow, than it's shape would be rounded and often quite deep. So, of exploring, you would need to make sure that you gradually remove all grounded fill and get to a harder exterior to avoid a catastrophic collapse. All your activity there is literally breathtaking.

    people find a lot of gold in old rivers like that.

    • @larrytheableguy3441
      @larrytheableguy3441 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You are on the top of a mountain, unless the source of the gold starts from where he is digging there won't be any gold in it. Most ancient riverbeds with gold deposits in it have flowed through the source of the gold and carried downstream. Maybe the mother lode starts right at the top where he is digging but most likely not. ✌

    Alan. The gravel used in concrete is screened at 15 to 25mm. So i would screed it at 25mm, then 15mm then sand. I have seen gold miners here in Aus make screens out of washing machines and cut up 44gal's. What a great find.

    Dave sparks, please have a t-shirt made up for Alan and the mountain fortress, "I am being told in no uncertain terms that I'm not welcomed" as a quote on the back. 11:10.

    I love imagining where that river used to flow and how its deposit ended up top a mountain, or maybe it used to be where the water washed too as snow melted up there who knows!

    You should do a test pan on that gravel, if it's an ancient river bed there might be gold.

    If this happened to me, I'd likely break out the gold pan, and try panning some of that stuff. River rock and sand is a great place to find placer gold.

    So you're thinking of tunnels underground? Would all that material hold itself up and not collapse?? Scary stuff there. P.s. i realize that this is way before the fire that took place surely you have other things happening in your life out there. You say that you have a Patreon channel as well?

    You should test the river rock material to see if there is any alluvial gold.

    With the recent fire -- I'd be gold panning that gravel for sure. Might be sitting on the fortune you need for repairs.
