- This 1974 International 100 4x4 has been rotting away in Chin's father-in-law's pasture for 16 years. It "ran when parked" according to Hoot! But we know how that goes... Let's see if we can get this one back on the road! This pickup has been SOLD! As always, thanks for watching!

This was nearly the same as my Air Force IHC pickup. It was a picnic bench on four wheels but it never quit, went absolutely everywhere and I really miss it. It had the right height and size to perform any kind of work and was definitely not a fashion statement by any stretch of the imagination.
Those 345s were absolute work horses, just like it's 350 sbc equivalent. They'd work all day every day and keep kicking. They just wouldn't go anywhere quickly...
Love to run a ih 345 in a c20/k20 square body truck or the gmt400 trucks..
They are all tires mortske!! For all you know those trailer tires identify as light truck tires
You are really gathering some really nice rides , love Internationals
Yes, thanks
Thanks for another Mortske Monday! And thanks Chin for the great editing!🐾🍺
Thanks Stu! I do what I can!
I didn't know that. Definitely some entertaining stuff, love all the add ins.
You're quite welcome sir you got one on Mr pudding so you have a great day my friend
Our pleasure!
Puddin will be so proud of you getting an International!!!! He might swap you his Chevy truck for your Intersmational truck. That would make a heck of a tow truck at his new place!!!
Hahaha. Puddin I love Puddin.
Old Duff was all about them smells when you were unloading. That JB Weld is some amazing stuff. Didn't know it worked on gasoline too!! I can't imagine there are a lot of parts still available for this one. All in all, a relatively simple revival. Another great save. Thanks for the videos.
New Process was a Chrysler company but made transmissions and transfer cases for the big three and others too I guess. They are great transfer cases and they made awesome transmission like the A-833 4 speed trans I have two of them and they are bullet proof pretty much.
Sweet
It wont last long at that price...
Wont be long til you northerners gotta throw a log on the fire.
I remember the old int'l pickup's.
They didnt sell like hot cakes , but my uncle had one for 30 yrs.
He liked hunting in the mountains & according to him , they would "climb a tree".
They're pretty good old rigs.
Fun trucks! My buddy had a "Cornbinder" that he ran for years until one day he dropped the front driveshaft and pole vaulted into a telephone pole! Thanks for dragging your carcass into work today Mr. M!
That'll make your brown eye pucker!
@@MortskeRepair I wish y'all would have gotten that 58 Chevy!!!
@@MortskeRepair lol
I would love to buy this International. Please sell it to me for less than you paid for it, deliver 2000 miles away and when you get here I will try to trade you a beat up Kia Rio for it. I will make great content for the channel!
Email him he will make a solid up front cash deal. It's worth alot I;; tell ya that.
The NP205 is an excellent transfer case. Gear to gear. Plenty strong and they can be mated to an NP203 for even lower gearing options.
I squeezed a M400 C6 into my 59 F100 on a NP 205 with a Cardan Center Piece looks like a skidder. Also found a 79 Dana 60 High pinion KP (Snowfighter) on 32's. Looks Tough! I'll probably put 2' spacers on the 70 rear to match.
Hi Mortske,
I wanted to say Thank you to yourself and Puddin' for making the content you guys do. I've learned so much from watching the both of you and all your endeavors I was able to troubleshoot and fix my nieces 1965 Ford Falcon Fuel sending issue this weekend. Turns out it was the fuel sending unit ground connection, but without all the troubleshooting steps I've learned from the both of you I would have never touched the car to begin with. Again from the bottom of my heart, thank you! You guys ROCK!!
Glad to hear it!
Another great episode, Thanks for the entertainment and education. You are getting quite the collection going around the yard, maybe time for another list to sell off some, to start over again. It is a vicious cycle, keep up the great work yall.
I agree!
Great Job! I like to see more old vehicles on the road instead of the crusher!
What a great rescue, looks like you found a good running truck. Got me good on the spider thing. Have not jumped like that in awhile. Good one. Keep up the great work and I will keep on watching
Haha, will do!
@@MortskeRepair Do a pressure wash tune up and four used tires and youll get 27 hundred for it......
@@MortskeRepair ASHSOLE, just about jumped out of my seat, lol. Looked in the comments earlier in the vid about something else and saw this, still got me. (twice...)
what spider thing??
@@ionracer24 gotta pay closer attention
This reminds me back in the later 70's my dad was looking for a new vehicle that would double as a hunting rig. We went to several dealerships including IH. The Scout II's had paint bubbling up from rust all over! Brand new on the showroom floor. Those IH's were built like tanks but the quality really slipped towards the end. So good to see you bring one back on the road. They are getting rare!
Awesome way to start a Monday!
yes sir re bob....sista.
I agree
Best Channel Period who couldn't love Duff 💟💟💟💟
"It's a Aspen, you can tell it's a Aspen by how it is", I'd like to have been there and ask him, "well how is it then", haha, just to hear how he answers that!
I like those old international trucks
I'll make you a heckuva deal on one!
This is my favourite will it run on TH-cam by far you just keep doing what you have been doing from the beginning plus it's a history off the car you save you should have more followers
Thanks Jason!
@@MortskeRepair You don't know how much enjoyment you and duff bring to people
@@jasonpeters9390 Glad to hear it
You're probably off a bit on pricing, the truck could be worth treble that... did you see the paint marker on the firewall, looks to be a production line QC marking, lol also "OK'd by Bob".
The transfer case alone, if it were refurbed, could be worth what you're asking for the truck.
Talking about the double wall bed sides, I think it was Studebaker to pioneer that in the 50s. A lot of orphan brands like studebaker, amc, international etc often introduced innovative ideas but sometimes didnt market them well.
You're probably right.
Purple beer, what will they think up next!? ....I agree with Duff , I love old Internationals. Keep up the good work 👍
Good question!
Finally…another International! Always my favorites! Ive had a few!
Sweating a Stetson. You got to watch out for those sandwiches they can be poison.
Duff looks pretty much like he knew what he was doing, with that calf. Right back into the pasture it went!
Transfer case is a NP 205. That's a good one. Real desirable, strong, and uses gears, no chain. Rear axle appears to be a Dana 44.
I was able to visit the Red Power Roundup in June 2022 in Springfield Ohio. All International, Farmall, McCormick Deering etc. There will be experts related to that show that could answer any question June 15-117 about this truck. Next year will be in Grand isle Nebraska June 15-17. Highly recommended.
Cool!
Cool old truck, to bad IHC didn't start using corrosion inhibitor till 79 or 80 which was the end of production pickups, scouts and travelall. It was always interesting guessing what components they would have for drivetrain, carberation and such, they could pass just about anything on the road except a gas station.
yeah those scouts sucked gas and neighbor traded one in for a small s10 blazer
@@rsprockets7846 My father in law worked for IHC, so just about everyone in the family had Scouts, Terra's, Traveler's in sport and rallye configurations. Didn't seem to matter if you had a 304, 345, 392, power and torque went up with cubic inch increase but didn't seem to effect mileage. Mine were always 9mpg towing or not, the 4 bangers got a little better mpg.
Even the 304 guzzled gas lol
Hard to believe that a "southern Canada" rig doesn’t have chicken chasers and a basic Holley 2300 (early Ford V8s) would be a better choice than the 2210 and easier to find rebuild kits for
Thanks Mortske and Duff, ya'll just make Mondays more enjoyable. Have a great week 👋
Same to you!
The electrical system in this body style was GM in origin for the most part. The headlight dimmer switch and the map/cabin light were sourced from the 67-72 GM trucks. I know because I once owned 2 3/4 ton 4x4s at the same time as a "take two to make one truck" project.
She looks solid and dry underneath. Another success story Mort. Even Duff Dog approves as always.
Duff the wonder dawg IN---spector
We couldn't send you a cowboy hat without a hat size. So instead jackasses like me send you 50 1/16&1/8 drill bits lol. Great video on the international truck
Perfect!
Pretty sweet. Liked that Duff made that Cow go home that was awesome. Liked #840 That truck pretty kewl, really like the fact that is had a manual gear box for both going forward and the four wheel drive, none of that push button CRAP and the manual front locking hubs are a plus as well. Other than the manual transmission built similar to my Dads 1993 F-150 XLT front locking hubs and manual four wheels drive gear box, awesome truck!
Pretty basic rig
@@MortskeRepair Yeah, you're RIGHT it is and that's why it's awesome. To many buttons switches levers knobs in these newer vehicle's, need to get back to how they use to be made. Simple. How much wiring and relays do you think is in that Truck a heck of a lot less then the newer Trucks these days, and why for what, because people are LAZY that's why, GPS why because people don't know how to read a map. Ask your Dad how much more simple life was. I love your video's man you just make my day when you put another one out, and sometimes I get a real good laugh. I am only 36 years old, but I love manual roll down windows so much better, same with seats that you have to pull up on the lever and pull the seat forward way more simple and if it break or stops working it mechanical and pretty simple to fix. What I'm saying is that electrical just adds something else to go wrong. Plus if you add electrical and mechanical together you have to figure out witch one went BAD the electrical or the mechanical part could be something as simple as a blown fuse or as extreme as a slit in a wire somewhere or a bad relay. You see what i'm saying, LOLZ. You have a good one my friend and God Bless.
@@FeArhsma21 I won't be fixing any 2022 Denali pickups anytime soon!
@@MortskeRepair I love that comment
Hey M,
I’ve owned several Scouts. I loved this episode. Scouts, had a separate fuse for the running lights. That might be why none of the parking lights turned on. Thank you for your content, sharing your knowledge etc. My son and I watch you and that puddin guy. Love the intelligent adult comment jabs here and there.
Thanks again Bud! Enjoying the Mortski flick here in New England.
Our pleasure Mike!
Another great adventure! Good job guys! Thanks
Glad you enjoyed it
I am soooo entertained, You make Monday feel like Saturday night. Many thanks from Canada ( The real home of International trucks).......
Thanks Stuart
These thumbnails keep on getting better and better!
Glad you like them!
He chased the cow around the corner of the fence behind you and back up along that side.... looks like it found it way back into the property.... Duff is a Cow Dog !....No to the wrecker bed....fix the bed.... it's cool !
That tie rod looks like the one in my Scout. IH wasn't thinking when they put it there. First thing to hit. Mine was reinforced with angle iron welded to it. Another thing that isn't legal here, but it worked. Every TH-camr I have seen tries to adjust the carb on a cold engine. The engine MUST be at running temp with choke full open before you can adjust the idle speed or mixture. I was adjusting carbs before EFI existed.
Thanks another great video! I used to have a 1972 IHC 1210 4x4 short bed. Yes, from the factory. IH made some interesting trucks. It originally had a 345 and manual 4 speed but the original owner decided to drop a mopar 440 and 727 three speed auto in front of the factory NP205 transfer case. Mine had a dana60 with Detroit locker in the back and a dana 44 up front. My guess is your has a Dana 44 in back and maybe a 33 up front? It had drum brakes all the way round guess IH decided to put discs up front by 74. Fun trucks, too bad body parts are non existent these days.
Internationals were excellent trucks, super tough. I liked the fact they had the distributor in the front like Ford but had the firing order and cylinder numbering of GM. I had a 1972, 4 speed, 4x4 that I bought with a blown head gasket for $50. I thrashed that truck and could never get it stuck in mud or snow.
Everyone brags about the four wheel drive in them
Holy crap that spider!!
What if it?
First
My hose gets girthy after I've been tickling the taco
The bodies weren’t much good on those old Internationals, in fact I think they started rusting right from the factory but they did seem to have solid drive trains, Great video Mortske
Thanks Vince
Solid engine's shit electronics and electric no factory parts you could afford no aftermarket thanks to ih. Just facts.
My 62 International Scout that I had was stealing parts from everybody it had Ford it had Chevy it had all kinds of Parts man but I'll tell you what it was one tough son of a gun especially the PTO windshield was in the front of it I can hook it up to a tree and pull it right up in the tree that looks like it's just about as good if not better because it's a pickup have a great day
Whatever Duffers was smelling he was certainly happy about it as that tail could have powered a small city..
06 that would have been Bush Jr gas.
yeah it sounds like expected for a corn binder fresh off the farm, but I'm digging that front bumper it's killer
I'm a Ford guy but I still laughed at the yanking Fords comment. Every manufacturer had its issues.
Yeah they do.
Always pickin on the Pott Co legend.... gonna catch a New Balance one day without lubie dube....🤣🤣
My Dad joke was so terrible, so bad, that would chase kid jokes and beat them up
Great content, keep it up!
Oh yeah duff man! I'm a structural engineer but what do I know, Duff get those pack rats out budd.
Have you heard that they are trying to outlaw round hay bales?
Some people are afraid cows won’t be able to get a square meal.

AMC sold V-8 blocks to IH, who built their own engines of 304, 345, & 392 cu", which were all the same small block. THE AMCs that AMC built had one bore for for the 290/304, & a larger bore to the 343/360 & 390/401. More stroke to the 390/401 with the same bores as in the 343/360. Don't RACE these blocks, because they had oiling "issues" if "revolution-challenged[--RACED]". Hot Rod Mag had a 401 AMC Hornet hatch FAIL in their '74 Cannonball-Baker Entry,[--they replaced the stock 360 with the 401] and Roger Penske had 23 AMC mains-failures on the way to his "Javelin" Trans-AM victories" until he went to: his previous TRACO-block, and, to dry-sump oiling. EVERY-one I EVER talk to about "AMC-performance", speaks bitterly about lunching @ least ONE AMC, 390/401, due to mains failures, unless they were frequently torn-down/rebuilt {--dragsters}, were Automatics, or driven by our grannies that never heard of Pasadena. AMC's "warranty-solution", was to cast 15,000 extra 360 blocks, instead of FIXING the mains oiling problem. NOT-fixing that problem, RUINED/WASTED the dollars they spent with Penske, and prevented the market penetration they needed to Endure. Their 6s, though too heavy, were much more reliable with a manual, than their V-8s. Dry-sumping their V-8s would've cost them another $100 bucks/car.
Interesting.
I checked the EGR valve the one behind the carburetor big round one do they get tendency to leak take it off and fill it with JB well and you can use it back in that City where you're at
Morning Mortske and Duff
Ah, right hand thread wheel studs. I had a fun experience with a Kaiser CJ5 where someone had swapped the front drums side to side so it didn’t match by vehicle side. Threw me for a loop, thought they were cross threaded at first and narrowly avoided ruining the studs with an impact before I figured it out.
Oh boy!
get some seal all and put it on that crack on the carb and it will work good as new
We were fresh out!
Some rich farmer (is that redundant?) will buy it to sit in the shed next to his 1206.

73 and the same problem. Rivers up here in Timmins ON all run the wrong direction, all the way to James Bay and Hudson Bay, creates a very short shipping season and my "ship" hasn't made it here yet either.

Chrome won't get you home, but JB Weld might! Sweet old truck man, it's a good thing you're half way across the country and I got no more room to park junk, or I'd want this thing! If it's got a manual it gets my interest, don't see as many manuals around here in Virginia, seems like everyone is too lazy to drive one, means they usually sell cheaper though! I'd rather have a stick shift driving in these Blue Ridge Mountains, don't gotta burn up the brakes trying to get back down the mountain trying not to run over the idiot who thinks your rattly 30+ year old death trap can stop like their brand new car payment.
I do like a manual

What about the oversized Norm MacDonald Burt Reynolds Cowboy hat!!!!
Heck of a rig! Super solid, built to last and take abuse. Dana axles and NP transfer! Ultimate 4x4.
This was me last summer with getting my F250 to run again. Turned into rebuilding the whole carburetor. Probably going to go efi here soon I am always having to adjust this damn motorcraft carb.
When I read the comment about the Air Force truck it reminded me of a time when we were in the b52 ramp & when my partner shifted into second gear the shifter came right out of the floor!!! Love those internationals! We were laughing so hard we had to stop & fire up another doobie!!!
Wow
Super Duff to the Rescue able to Leap IH 100 passenger doors in a single bound!!!!!!!!!
Useless knowledge alert: You might know this by now, but I seem to recall the firing order being embossed into either the valve cover or intake on IH V8's.
Running on 6 1/2 or 7 at least, but still running. Sounds like a valve or three aren't seating at first, little bit of a hitch and some popping back. Base gasket is probably leaking despite the JB weld bench "rebuild." The diffs and t-case are worth more than the rest of the truck altogether. Do a good tune-up, give 'er the Mortske flick a few times, set the timing with your timing ear, maybe pull the valve covers and check the valves, stick a less-junky carb on it, and it's good for another 20 years of beating the snot out of it. The stock carb should be a Holley 2300 or 2300g (vacuum governor); 2 bbl Autolite from an early 70s V8 Ferd ought to be a direct bolt on and much better carb.
We call fenders like that friendly fenders. They wave at everyone while you drive.
Haha, makes sense!
While in high school during the mid 2000's my first vehicle was a 71 1010 pickup and a 73 fully optioned travel all that I bought from the original owner. Let's just say I stuck out! I've been an international fanatic ever since.
That's awesome! Love them Travelalls!
Thanks for sharing with us. I, personally, have always had a distaste for the old international trucks.....but the more I see (few to be seen around NW Arkansas) the more I like and respect them. Overbuilt is a good frame of reference to the way those units were built. Good times and Duff stole the show once again. If I was closer I'd snag that one for a crisp $1500! Nice
Right on
Anyways I was thinking I will either build a magnum v8 somewhat like a 340 small block Mopar, but I don't know whether to use a 318, or a 360, or build a cammed IH 345 for the dodge ram 2000 1500 long bed 4x4 but I don't know what to do with the EFI of the dodge because I have never seen a fi ih lol
