My Dad had an immaculate 69 3/4 ton 2 wheel drive that he bought from the original owner. It was just a base pickup. It had the original 307 with a 4 speed and 4.11 posi with coil springs. It was quite the travelin machine with the little sleeper cab on it and the groovy shag carpet. I agree, I really like that color of green. It even has the small chrome mirrors on it. They don't make the greatest tow mirrors, but my buddy's 70 F-100 XLT Merc pickup (Canadian Ford) had the same mirrors and we towed his 63 split window Corvette road race car all over the West coast and Western Canada with those mirrors. When I was in high school my Dad worked as an outboard engine mechanic at a boat sales dealer. The owner bought a new 69 chevy base model. It had the straight six 292 torque monster? and power glide. My Dad drove it home as a perk of the job. When the owner would go to repo furniture (they also owned a furniture/appliance store) they didn't want to sweat too much so the truck went back to Service Chevrolet for a dealer installed Chevy under dash AC. The truck got used to drive to Dallas to pick up boat trailers or boats. Quite a few highways miles where it always got 11 mpg.
