- For 50 years the Transamerica Pyramid has defined the skyline of San Francisco. Now its new owners are hoping a massive redevelopment of the entire block will once again redefine the city's downtown. abc7ne.ws/479khIY

Thre is no issue with the economy as it relates to the super wealthy. It's devastating for everyone else.
"everyone else" votes for it.
@@churblefurbles because everyone else has voting stock in the corporations controlling the government thru lobbying? Please.
This guy has the confidence and vision to make a change... yes, it is a leap of faith, but without someone selling the idea... others will be selling their ideas. I wish him the best and great success... and I wish all of us the same great success... we are all selling ourselves whether we can see it, or not; we must dream the vision, push forward, aim for the best, and take that leap of faith.
This guy has a track recording for producing. He is “new” to the City of SF but he’s been around the world investing and making money. Someone in the comments called him a “baby Trump.” Okay, his NYC office is up the street from Trump Tower; his multi story office and veranda has a better view of Central Park than Trump. He didn’t get there buying bad property and burning money. His billion dollar San Francisco investment will make him money and help make the city more prosperous. I don’t know him but I’ve been paying attention to him and his investments for several years.
Yep. Haters gonna hate though.
Lol this is hilarious. All the waitors and waitresses have left, all the artists have gone, all the stores have shut down, all the culture is gone. He thinks investing into the financial district is going to solve it.
better his money than the taxpayer's
@@zabnorg He's getting taxpayer handouts from the government there, guaranteed.
I hope his vision comes to fruition. Downtown is dead and it’s ugly. This city is the exception, not the rule. Other cities are back to normal.
I love this guy…optimism and faith is important
😂😂😂
Wishing him the best! I hope to see SF bounce back.
Bounce, mama.
SF will always bounce back. Location, location, location. It's the Key to the Golden Gate
Ask any CE realtor in downtown SF, the real vacancy rate is near 60%. Most tenants are just paying the rent until it the lease is up. It’s set to get worse when the Q1 leases are set to expire. But the greater problem is this guy’s “vision” of SF is what killed SF. VCs and and deep funded start ups doesn’t make an SF for everyone. It makes one for very few.
I really admired this beautiful man Richard, he loves SF, bless your heart ❤️ ❤❤myself being a San Franciscan, you’re also doing and preserving the inegrity of sf old buildings are very rare in their structures survived the earthquakes, around the. year 1989. I’ll pray for you good man ❤
I agree, but he still won’t bed you down no matter how much you praise him. Set your eye on a far lower goal.
No, not until you clean up the city. The City only wants to clean up a few blocks during important times and during daylight hours.
Hi . At $200.00 per sqft. My god. He has two new Tennants. Who are they? This is lot of money for per sq ft. Well have to wait and hear about the new tenants .
This dude would install a military junta to get me to go back to the office 5 days a week
Those days are over. I hated working in the office.
Good stuff! 🙏🏻💙
The same confidence boasting his blind-optimism is also going to be same blaming "outside factors" when he fails
Is this guy for real? He owns the entire block??
I lived there in the early 1990s. I want to visit again to see what's up.
This developer is vile. He does not care about any city. The red wood park has always been there, he didn't create it.
Did he say it's a private park now? It has always been public space... and, I agree with you. A wealthy developer who is so out of touch.
The only thing that will last in San Francisco are those redwood trees. That is if people from out of town who don't understand those baby trees are of a species of the tallest and can become nearly the oldest trees on Earth. The trees are a tourist attraction. Building under and around the trees would be far more lucrative and appreciated by the Bay Area Elite.
Yes. It’s private. For the wealthy.
@@maylani3697 ...indeed my Earl grey is most tasty in my front park😂😂
No, Redwood Park has NOT always been there. It has been there for a short 52 years.
im embracing the will to power!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What's wrong with San Francisco?..... CRIME
If you just listen--- this man is a baby trump
Downtown San Francisco will never recover until employers grow the balls to tell employees they need to come into work. Downtown is dying a slow death, which is still continuing and this will continue until big balls are grown. Other cities have recovered. This is the result of San Francisco mentality and it needs to change.
wework?
Good Luck!!!
You cant revitalize a crime scene.
If this dude can become a billionaire, it does give me hope for the rest of us, good luck. 😂
Commercial real estate isn't hurting because it needs a makeover. This guy is desperate
As MythBusters proved you can polish a turd, but at the end of it, it is still a turd. SF and Ca. need to do more to stop crime or it will stay a turd.
Chemtrails 1:14
The billionaires all look the same.
The economy is doing great…not. Please revisit this story at the end of 2024. This guy is nuts.
That’s funny because life is going great for me , maybe you should stop being poor
Lies
5 years later.. i bet this will still empty
He sounds just another desperate salesman 🤡
Used car salesman
Tooo much period
Why not clean crime, Homelessness, druggies , help businesses, and clean the 💩 of the streets first ? 🤔
the city has been doing a lot of those things like care court started a year early for San Francisco county with 6 other counties for drug users and homeless refusing treatment in October. Also I can say San Francisco is way better , but I feel like it some companies paying off people to rob things because it does seem organized.
@@angelmendez2211 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣Business owners paying people to rob them? What school of Brainwashing did you go to? Stop drinking the dummy Koolaid! 👍
@@smoothoperator1083 I'm not saying it someone from san francisco.
@@angelmendez2211 Come on dude. You guys got what you voted for. California/Newsom emptied all the prisons in the pandemic. As did Cuba in 1980 into the USA. Wakeup man.
@@angelmendez2211 Yeah, if you walk around the city cross eyed, it looks good!
What a dump
Nope 😂
no child porn theres are laws to portect chdilren in every nation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
One building did not transform San Francisco no more than Sales Force Tower rejuvenated San Francisco. The booming tech sector (now diffused globally) combined with government policy of near 0% interest rates (for almost a decade) is what revitalized the S.F. Bay Area. The super-liberal policies of the past no longer align with the economic realities the Bay Area wants must NOW face.
1) The Tenderloin needs to go - times up
2) Stop dreaming and look to how other countries maintain control of their global cities (Paris, Rome, London, etc,) and not let crime run rampant
Address the crime, remove the dead wood in government and business will come back. The current mayor is not fit for the office .
Youre a virgin
Ur not even from the bay. No one cares about ur opinion. Why dont u worry about ur own hometown instead of someone elses
He does not have swagger!
Work Remotely! No one wants to go there. People want to have a yard and no crime. Democrats also want to charge you to return to office. Always looking to tax you.
