  • Hi. I've taken the Leica SL2-S camera for a spin around my seaside village to see how it performs from a usability and colour grading point of view.
    All the shots are locked off on a tripod and I let the scenery do the talking, as I take a leisurely walk around the village. I've applied some compositional principles, which I hope you enjoy.
    I experimented with a few different color palettes also to convey different moods and emotions.
    If you're a videographer or filmmaker, and interested in seeing a few samples of what the Leica SL2-S...well this is for you. Hit that play button and join me on this seaside walkabout.
    Also, I am testing out Da Vinci Resolve to see if I want to switch from Adobe Premiere Pro and this was all edited in Da Vinci Resolve.

      It ain't half bad. So far I've mostly just shot in a pinch. I'm figuring my way around the settings and such now. It'll take a little while.

    Nice test. Really dig the color grades you chose for the content.

      Thanks Sunshine. ☀️ I'm gonna do a few more tests over the next weeks to form a bit of an opinion on the camera. Do you shoot much video with the SL2-S?

      Kind of you to say @gumy99. Actually finishing up a talking head responding to the AI Photo which won the Sony Photo Awards as well as another creative video. Coming soon...
      PS If I may ask: which are the videos you enjoy the most?

    Nice photography and very cool that you used the Nikon lenses! I've been reviving many old lenses myself, and Minolta's Rokkor ones are spectacular. The SL2-S is unique in its ability to bring out the best in these vintage lenses. Keep up the great work!

    Hi Oli! Did you use the ProRes output via HDMI or the internal recording? Anyway I really liked the output

      Hi Ron, this was all internal in L-Log. I’m glad you liked it. 👍

    i'm not into filming AT ALL so far. but i might just give my sl2s a spin next week in mallorca. did you use an M lens for these sequences?

    • @oliscurra
      @oliscurra  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah Magnus, give it a whirl. I've got the top right button on my camera set to switch between video and photography mode. I didn't use any M lenses for this though. I used a set of Nikon lenses I own. 24mm, 50mm & 135mm.
      Let me know how you get on and enjoy Mallorca. 🌞

      @@oliscurra always the same old pre-vacation struggle. which camera(s) to bring…. 😀

    • @oliscurra
      @oliscurra  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      😊 Yes that old battle. What I would do often is decide: is it a two lens vacation or a single lens vacation. A lot of the time I just went with my 35mm and that was a-ok. Less choice on the vacation always let me enjoy it more. 🙂 Good luck with the heavy decisions. 👍

      @@oliscurra yes, less is more! but i usually end up packing more and then deciding for the camera-lens-combo on each day (and occasion). but it‘s always like taking only part of the kids to the trip and leaving some behind. just breaks my heart 😀

    It takes great video if you don’t C-AF in video.

    • @oliscurra
      @oliscurra  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, I can imagine it may struggle with AF. I shot everything with some old manual focus Nikon lenses for this.

    • @ericrjennings
      @ericrjennings ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@oliscurra yeah it’s not good. If you stay still for a talking head piece it’s ok, otherwise you have Manual focus or use AF-S and go from point to point by pressing in the joystick
