I would love to know your guy's thoughts on Crosshair preparing to pull a plan 99. His emotional outburst saying their squad died with Tech and that Omega needed Hunter and Wrecker (but not him in his mind), and that he deserved to die as penance was a proverbial cry for help, and it was heartbreaking. I felt that given everything he went through, it was in-character that he thought he would and deserved to die, but I don't understand why so many audiences and theories wrote Crosshair off saying he had to die in order for his redemption to come full circle or be completed. The whole season was about Crosshair confronting his demons, making amends, and putting in the work. Crosshair went farther than any redeemed tragic hero, so there was a lot going for him to live and survive to the end. I'm so glad he did.
YES! i really wanted to get into Crosshair's whole speech there and Hunter and Wrecker's reaction! there was just SO MUCH to get through. That moment was so heavy and heartbreaking - and the emotion we can get from them even though they're wearing helmets is incredible. A whole episode could be dedicated to this scene and Crosshair's entire arc. I definitely didn't want Crosshair to die, but i was worried... A lot of times in Star Wars, as soon as a villain gets redeemed, the immediately die... so i'm super happy they avoided that trope. He gets to live and enjoy the rest of their lives together, which is what he REALLY DESERVES, in my opinion. I'm also SO SO glad he made it through. I'm so glad EVERYONE made it through!
This might be my very favorite Star Wars show that Disney has produced. Btw, gentlemen... your breakdown / podcast about Star Wars is leaps & bounds better than other podcasts on YT that have tens of thousands of subs. In time, you two will be way up there. You do good break downs like this for Tales of the Empire and the Acolyte, you will be up there! Congrats and great job. Your theme song alone is better. And quite the ear worm! Can't wait for more!
@@kryptontoalderaanI loved it when they were looking at the damage from the Zillow and asked "echo or Omega" and they both said "Omega"! It was the perfectly placed levity in a very intense episode. This show was really, really great! There is something about this particular kind of animation that really lends itself well towards this kind of story telling. If this was live action it wouldn't be nearly as good. And if this was in that rebel's kind of animation, which is more kiddy friendly, it wouldn't be as good either. This 3D animation doesn't remind you of a cartoon, it is animated storytelling and it's just brilliant.
I really love that scene! Gah, there was so much to discuss! And I agree about the animation! They also went above and beyond with the animation this season - sometimes it was SO FLUID it looked like motion capture. definitely makes it look and feel more "mature".

Assassins fights would have felt less redundant to me. We could leave off on the cliff hanger of the Batch being captured, The kids are safe, the clone prisoners are safe, And Omega has the opportunity to leave with them. But, of course, we get one last mic drop from her, "I'm not leaving without my brothers." Smash cut to credits. The anticipation of the "second part" might have been the psychological kick I needed.
I like how this almost laughs in the face of the sequels or at the least the "Palpatine returned" plot point. This is part of my SW canon while the sequels are not.
His hand is where he held his stress(PSTD) cutting off the hand was him getting pass it and now he needed his brother shoulder to make the shot. No longer a loner but now fully part of his family

the writers teased the audience soooo much in this show. even at the end they seemed to suggest they could have gone darker but it's still kind of a kid's show.

I did enjoy the episode but yeah, I think they went soft with it. The Rampart redemption was never a thing that was going to happen, in my mind. He didn't see Clones as anything more than droids which is why he treated Crosshair and the clones under his command as expendable. He was never going to help clones of any type. I was a bit disappointed that they didn't involve Ventress in the finale, but Nala Sei destroying all of the records was beautiful. Having CF-99 survive the series was quite a surprise, and I even had my hopes up that one of the Assassins was going to turn out to be Tech with some new Mind control device that they would find a way to remove and save him (similar to Clone Wars Finale with Rex). Those goggles on the assassin really got my hopes up. The other disappointment was that we never got Crosshair's story about what Psychological damage he endured in Tantiss. Lopping his hand off (although very Star Wars) was not a good solution to it shaking. The psychological damage is still there.
I'm sad that it is over now. Hopefully more Star Wars shows in this animated style will come. I'm glad the Bad Batch are still alive. Unfortunately Scorch isn't. I LOVED the Zillo Beast! Imagine having that as your pet? It'd be big, but it'd be awesome! My favourite episode is the mining episode in season 2 Where Tech and Omega had that conversation. It really hit me home. Speaking of 'home.' I believe a discord server could become a home for us all
Yeah I really hope we get more. There’s still so much time to cover and so many questions to answer. AND animation is the best sooooooo 🤣 I really love that episode with Omega and Tech. That’s DEFINITELY one of my favorite moments in the series!
I LOVED the finale so much! I was so happy to see that the episode was way longer than normal! Such a surprisingly wonderful ending that made me cry tears of joy! Crosshair made it through!!! Hemlock’s death was so satisfying! CX-2’s death was satisfying, with Crosshair being the one to basically cause his death by kicking him which caused Hunter to notice him! Oh and Omega hugging Crosshair first is just perfect 😭 It’s hard for me to pick a favorite moment out of this show. I’ll say what a couple of my favorite moments are. One is the moment Crosshair is silently placing Mayday’s and the other clones helmets on the crate, it’s such a emotional scene with no dialogue. Another is the first fight with the CX troopers in the hanger, it’s such a tense fight that makes you worry about the batch surviving the whole time, and it ends with CX-2 cutting off Crosshair’s hand. I’m going to miss waiting for new episodes of the podcast about the Bad Batch. Can’t wait for other Star Wars discussions you guys do though!!! Happy May the 4th!
