Hey guys no kiddin', out of all the star wars after-shows I watch on TH-cam, this is the only one I've actually been waiting for. You two are the best in the biz, here. Just thought I'd give ya some props.
WOW that’s high props! Thank you SO MUCH! We try. And we love Star Wars, and even if we don’t like one thing, we try hard to give generous takes. That said, we really liked the first two episodes of The Acolyte and are SUPER excited to see where it goes! What’d you think of the show?
@@kryptontoalderaan I actually liked it a bit more than I thought I was going to. I probably allowed some of that negative Nelly shit get in my head. One thing I keep in mind is, these arent big budget blow out summer movies. They're tv shows. I think alot of people make the mistake and compare this show, Ahsoka, etc to The Force Awakens or Rogue One. I liked how many new aliens we got to see. I wasnt too crazy about the chick in green. Her acting is ... meh. The dude helping Mae, the apothecary guy, is probably my favorite non-main character. And the Sith dude kinda looked like the Gimp from Pulp Fiction.
It’s so hard when our feeds flood with negativity… All the aliens is awesome! YES Qimir (he’s the one helping Mae) - I like him a lot. Super interesting character. I love all the mysteries. Can’t wait to see how all the puzzle pieces fit.
@@kryptontoalderaan yeah, the story telling is cool! I wish the episodes were just a little bit longer. Give some of the scenes time to breath a bit. Like, when they landed on Corloc or whatever that snowy planet was they went from landing, to searching the crashed ship, to finding Osha, to leaving in under 3 minutes. The pacing was a bit manic, in parts. But that's just me being picky. If I was gonna grade these together, I'd say a good 8 outa 10. And by the way, I like the campy stuff that these SW shows have. Andor was brilliant, but not everything has to be Andor. Andor is Andor. Everything else can have that goofy-ass SW feel, like per New Hope had.
Is Qimir the dark "Sith" guy, with the toothy helmet? You think? He was able to defend himself, albeit briefly, when Mae attacked him outside the shop towards the end, there! It would be a good misdirrect, showing him as kind of goofy and arguably even a bit subservient, to Mae if not simply just on her level, as a peer, then to reveal he's actually also the; "big bad," as well! Just a thought. 🤔
To be honest I love the takes you guys have. There are only two Star Wars TH-camrs I go out of my way to watch, Krypton to Alderaan and Generation Tech.
Wow that’s so great! Thanks so much! That’s so great to hear! We really try to give generous takes, whether something is for us or not. BUT, it’s worked out ‘cause so far we’re really enjoying The Acolyte and are excited to see where it goes! What did you think of the show?
I liked the first 2 episodes. A few things did feel a bit off to me, but all by all I liked it. However I made the mistake of going youtube afterwards and I saw a certain interview. The inteviewer asked an unrelated question and all of a sudden this new show became a topic in a political conversation. Life is hard. We humans sometimes want to have an escape from our hard lifes. Watching shows is one of these escapes. It hurts me to see that people aren't coming to there senses. We can do so much if we just unite everyone.. Speaking of uniting people: Discord unites.. right guys? 🤣 (for some reason my comment didn't go through on the last video, no idea why) As usual I love the content you guys are making! Keep it up! That big 1K will hit sooner than you think. I am stoked to see what Episode 3 of The Acolyte will bring!
Yeah there’s a lot of stuff being said about the show that has nothing to do with the show. But, we’re here to talk about it through a lens of what we love about Star Wars. If we don’t like a thing, it’s ok - someone else likes it! But fortunately, we really liked the first two episodes and can’t wait to see more! Thank you as always for you kind words! Can’t wait to hear what you think as the show goes on!
I think the show is great so far and it’s really nice listening to you guys when I’ve been overwhelmed with all this negativity about it. Sol is definitely my favorite character so far! I’m not looking forward to when Osha will find out what the Jedi did and have her trust for Sol be broken, her and Sol’s relationship is one of my favorite parts. I’m so curious about what the Jedi did that they thought was justified. Also got to love the droids that can fold back into chairs lol
Thanks for sharing this. I’ve also felt overwhelmed with the negative reviews-my feed is just full of it. But we’re loving the show and I’m glad others are as well. Sol is my favorite too! I just hope the show doesn’t flip his genuine nature upside down with these flashbacks…
@@RoyishGoodLooks Yeah I hope they don’t flip his genuine nature either. To me he seems like he regrets whatever he did and wants to make up for it. He wants to learn from the past like he said.
Thanks so much! We always try to give generous takes whether or not we like the thing. BUT we really like the show so far - so it’s easy! 🤣 Too much negativity in the feeds. I’m so afraid for Osha to learn the truth! The fallout will fall hard, I think. 😭 Those droids 🤣🤣🤣 There’s something very arrogant about not having any Jedi escorting the prison transport.
@@kryptontoalderaan I thought Yord and his padawan would be with them but nope. I feel it’s especially arrogant of them since they thought Osha was the Jedi killer, if she could kill a Jedi might she have something up her sleeve to get out idk.
What we already know from the movies is that the Sith were not seen in the Galaxy for a Millennium, and yet in this series we have heard characters referencing the Sith Code. This leads me to believe that the big secret the Jedi are guarding is that the Sith have always been a threat, but they keep that fact hidden so as not to promote a level of Fear. I think the event that occurred was a showdown with a Sith Lord where He/she was hunted to that world, and went down fighting with the lead Jedi (Torbin?) Performing the killing blow against an unarmed opponent. The council then erased the encounter from their archives and ordered all of the other Jedi to remain silent about it.
Interesting! In the high republic books, the Jedi definitely know and are taught about the sith. But they definitely think they’re extinct. It would be super interesting if we saw evidence of a Sith in a flashback on the show. Loving all the mystery!
Will the evolution of Vernestra garner as much criticism as those of CW-Barriss and TBB-Scorch, I wonder, or do people don't care that much for the High Republic? 😮
It definitely didn’t feel that way to me. I think I read it more as bringing the audience up to speed as they’re bringing a character up to speed, like Jecki.
Who are these jokers actually thinking the acolyte has potential, there is no mystery, no substance, and overall a lame predictable story. The mystery is has been solved in the next 2 minutes of the show when they premise a new question.

sol saw what luke saw in ben solo but actually let Mae die. now is trying too redeem himself by saving Mae. mAE

I LOVE the High Republic and can’t wait to see why her character is the way she is. Excited to learn more about her evolution and development!
Like 90% of the dialog was exposition told to the audience, not just Jord. Everyone jus explained people to themselves...

Its beyond me that theres actually star wars fans who believe this is good/ well made.
I fear for the future of SW.
