Why do I vaguely feel like the Winchester gun company inspired Jakobs? Orville Winchester was known for his eye for detail and quality like Singleton Talbott was, and had much the same mentality with the idea that all you need is one precise powerful shot.
That’s vladof or torgue . But jakobs meh yeh the shotgun and pistol is good but snipers meh the fire rate and recoil neh. That’s why I love vladof it’s both and high fire rate god tier damage

I feel that the corporations are starting to become redeemed a bit in a sense wainwright leads Jakobs, Rhys owns Atlas and maliwan will probably be given to Naoko katagawa as jr is dead along with the others so she is the sole heir to maliwan these ceos would reform the name of their Corp hopefully

Then when DeLeon discovered the one on Promethea, they realized what they were sitting on. That is when Monty made is deal with DeLeon. (This also would assume that they didn't dare try to harvest the power for themselves a la Atlas and Dahl... I wonder if the Graveward is what sparked interest in bioengineering a monster-weapon?)
I always enjoy using Jakob weapons all the time. Though I wouldn't mind there shields to be the norm as well even if it exploits some of the class perks when you have a depleted shield.

omg I got the biggest Mandela effect watching the vault monster. I was 99% certain that the arm of the monster was just nothing i dident know that the vault monster had a weakspot on the hand, no im certain it hadent I even watched old videos when the game was released. and i remember farming that vault monster on my 4 playthrough of the game. Damn that feels so trippy
Hilariously most of my end game weapons in 2 were Jakobs. My pistol was a Jakobs, my shotgun was a Jakobs, my sniper rifle was a Jakobs, the only thing that wasn't a Jakobs was my machine gun.
So the borderlands timeline really hasn't been going for that long, based on the lore such as the ages of some of the characters and their oldest ancestors atleast those we know of the story really Binky has I'd say around maybe 210 years or so of lore and that is being generous
honestly, I've enjoyed using the Jakobs weapons, they're western themed, and they pack quite the punch too, on the count of using either a revolver pistol, shotgun, a semi-automatic rifle, and a sniper rifle.

I love the story of Jakobs, it exposes how advanced jakobs had became especially how they tried to make a beast as bio warfare. Jackobs is one of my 2 favorite companies, the other been Torgue. When i was a noob who did not know any better in bl2, i always used their shotguns and revolvers, as they had very high damage. When i was down, Jackobs was always there to give me a second wind.
My theory is that they found some Eridian ruins and maybe the key or part of it but had no idea what it was or that they lead to the vault. After Typhon discovered the first vault they put two and two together and realise their is probably one on Eden-6. Then hire Typhon to find the location so they can hide it easier or at the very least make it harder to reach.
I think the Jacob's new of the vaults before. In that typhon log the conversation seems like Montgomery already knew of the vault and just hired typhon expecting he would never find it.
That was exactly his plan. Hire him, have Typhon find nothing and thise prove to ANY other corperation out there that thers no Vault on Eden 6 so they are left alone and if another Corprate War fore the control of Vaults would break out they can stay out of it
That entire Gehena footnote on the Jakobs legacy feels so damn bizarre. Like I get that they made their fortune off of the natural resources of eden 6 but to go from incorporating a high quality Woodstock for their high quality, grounded and personalized guns to just dabbling in bio weapon manufacturing seems like quite the illogical sorta jump for that kind of company to be making. Although thinking about it, it would be fun if any other weapon manufacturers actually considered that as a theming for themselves. Creating proper living weapons (no, walking tediore guns don’t count)
