Hey guys, back with another Borderlands 2 video and today I figured I would talk a little bit about who I think is Borderlands 2's Best and Worst Gun and/or Weapon Manufacturer!

I like playing Sniper Zero and I love Jacobs snipers. Something about one shot one kill seems so satisfying. In Borderlands 1 Marcus had a saying: "If you took more than one shot, you weren't using a Jacobs". I'll tell you that's for the most part true.

I've always found it awkward trying to switch from a blue quality Jakobs to a purple quality one. Since blues are always bolt action with slower fire rate but enormous power. Whereas the purples have faster fire rate with less damage than the blues. I always found it weird and never knew when it was worth replacing the blue.

Personally, I can't stand anything made by Tediore. All the years of playing shooters have conditioned me to become a lean, mean, obsessive-compulsive reloading machine.

Playing as Gaige gives you access to the ability Anarchy.
Anarchy increases damage 1.75% and decreases accuracy 1.75% per stack of anarchy you have.
You collect stacks by killing enemies, and reloading with 0 in the clip during battle.
If you reload with more than 0 in the clip, you lose all stacks of Anarchy.
You can get a skill called Discord, so instead of losing all stacks instantly, they slowly drain and give you a slight stat boost until you reload with more than 0 once again.

recently got back into it got zer0 to lv80 op4 and krieg to 72
according to steam ive played about 9 hours a day for 2 weeks and ive learnt weapon parts and i use calculators to figure out if something with better fire rate has more dps and basically Im way too deep now

Sawyer Weathers eh borderlands 3 is probably the funnest game to play out of the 3 but it’s also really cringy if you were to actually watch the cutscenes and the dlcs are pretty fun, that being said it definitely has the worst story, writing and characters. That’s just my opinion and your entitled to yours

i didn't realize you threw away the remainder of your clip when you reload those exploding guns, so i kept firing 1 or 2 shots and throwing it at enemies. i was wondering why i'm always so low on ammo with them until i finally figured it out.

Maliwan is personally one brand I love, sleek looking, good damage, and just an overall great brand.
They don't even seem like an evil corporation like Dahl or Hyperion.
Ahem. In Borderlands 3, Maliwan keeps getting in your way. But I guess you already know that. Oh yeah, they also murdered civilians on Promethea without hesitation.

I have to disagree with the assessment of Hyperion sniper rifles, because the way you described them isn't actually how they work. Rather than inverse recoil, Hyperion sniper rifles apply the effect to the sway when scoped, so if you WAIT a few seconds before firing your shot, it's almost guaranteed to go exactly where you aim it. This makes them extremely effective for picking off enemies one by one at long range, but I will say that at medium range you're better off with a Jakobs, Maliwan, or Vladof depending on the situation.

@@Iveno-Von-Aethervein You're not really supposed to use sniper rifles in the heat of a firefight though, you open the engagement at range with them by picking off high value targets first. Granted, I will say that the meta for high level play in BL2 discourages the use of sniper rifles as direct damage dealers other than ones from Vladof or Dahl (which you can basically use as giant assault rifles). That's more the result of the higher difficulties being deliberately imbalanced in such a way that you need every bit of extra DPS you can get because you're so fragile and can't take any hits than anything else though.

You're missing an important detail and a reason I love Hyperion snipers: their negative recoil kicks in by scoping in for a moment. If you just scope in for a second or so then you have maximum accuracy and because of the way they work you now have effectively zero recoil, meaning it's now super easy to go on headshot sprees and clear out an entire room without waiting on your gun
Yeah but recoil is pretty easy to control tho and would be more of an issue on jakobs snipers.

Assault rifles don't "suck badly".
Assault Rifles in general DO suck badly, Trail, due to the Assault Rifle class, for most of their weapons, having the lowest DPS of all weapon classes, especially due to their critical penalty making them the worst weapons in the game for critical hits.
There are a few that work really well, like Elemental Vladof Assault Rifles, but the majority of them are quite poor choices late game.
Assault Rifles aren't the best weapon class in the entire game, but I feel like you're forgetting plenty of good ARs. Torgue Spitters are the best non-unique ARs for Axton, Krieg and Salvador while Jakobs Gatling Guns are the best non-unique ARs for Zer0 and Maya. Jakobs ARs don't even have crit penalty, and Torgue ARs don't need to crit to deal good damage. Plus, there are a good chunk of red-text ARs out there. Both Torgue Spitters and Jakobs Gatling Guns with perfect parts outperform both Torgue Pistols and Jakobs Revolvers with perfect parts.
There ARE good AR's, but almost all AR's are bad, is the problem.
Jakob's doesn't matter because, well, it's Jakobs, as a manufacturer they all do that, it's the class that sucks. Plus Jakobs causes my fingers to become fatigued so that sucks.
Torgue AR's are next to impossible to hit anything beyond close range due to their gyrojet shots.
The best AR I manage to get my hands on are elemental Vladof AR's for spraying lots of effects everywhere.
*Says Jacobs doesn't make elemental weapons 99% of the time. In video, switches to an elemental Jacobs shotgun*.

There are three elemental jakobs guns: Twister (Shock, shotgun), Stinkpot (Corrosive, Assault Rifle) and the Greed (Fire, Pistol). All non-unique jakobs weapons come without an element.

Jacobs: the ultradamage is epic when you manage to hit the crits
Vladof: shoot your whole backpack to send enemies to the grave and you to the ammo vending machine
Tediore: Don't accidentally reload, don't accidentally reload!

Maliwan: While you miss they get cooked, awersome synergy
Torgue: No bullet... no ricochet...?

Personal list:
1. Hyperion - for smgs and shotguns and sometimes pistols.
2. Jakobs - mostly for pistols
3. Maliwan - snipers and smgs.
4. Torgue - usually pistols
5. Dhal - whatever's good
6. Vladof - don't use much.
7. Tediore - don't use much.
8. Bandit - usually only shotguns or launchers.

Jakobs makes good everything, Torgue makes good Shotguns and Assault rifles, Vladof makes good everything and Bandit makes good SMGs.
Maliwan: high elemental damage/chance
Jakobs: high damage, crit damage and good fire rate

Torgue: EXPLOSIONS
tediore: YEET

Torgue shotguns are the best. The explosive shotguns are amazing
The ones that eat 3 ammo per shot make for a great substitute for a rocket launcher when you're at short range.
I love the different gun manufacturers for different gun types. I love jakobs for their pistols, where they have instant fire upon click (for pc), but the bolt-action snipers they make take way too long to reload, at the cost of pretty high damage.

How is the Deliverance a bad weapon? I think it's awesome! A shotgun, that when thrown, seeks out enemies and constantly shoots a bottomless magazine until it detonates? Yes please!
My personal favorites are Maliwan and Jakob's, Maliwan has great damage potential and also the DOT effects from them can actually be useful for regenerating. While Jakob's just has an absurd amount of damage potential.
Hopefully S&S Munitions makes a comeback in BL3! Also, bring back the Glorious Havocs!

I know this is an older (based on perspective) video, but I've seen a number of your videos, and I appreciate the content you produce. I've loved this game for a long time, but for reasons, haven't been able to play it as much. I'm restarting for the umpteenth time in normal mode, and as someone who has played the game enough to know, but not been able to progress to the OP levels, I want to thank you for your help. I appreciate your style of delivery, your inclusive range of subjects (for all levels), your professional disposition, and your content as a whole, as I have experienced it. I would like to thank you, and wish you much success in your future endeavors. :)
I find Jakobs Assault Rifles to be less Assault and more Rifle, if anything. Underwhelming on DPS, but great for controlling your aim. Kind of like Hyperion's reverse-recoil and Dahl's scoped-burst-fire, Jakobs Assault Rifles should be treated with a different mindset (think of treating them like Sniper Rifles with less effective range and more carried and/or loaded Ammo). I lucked into a Hammer Buster from a random Loot Midget that carried my Axton file for most of the mid-to-late story (and greatly trained my shot timing for Critical Hit spots).
Get a jakobs assault rifle with a vladof minigun barrel. Good DPS right there.
Jakobs grenade launchers, out of all the grenade launchers in the game, are probably the best too, all things considered for a generally underused projectile class. The grenades fire reaaaally fast.

My favourite is probably Maliwan. Apart from the weapons you listed, they also made the magnificient Magic Missile grenade mod. Their weapons look fantastic, their sniper scopes are the best and the "Snider" Rifles are so much fun to use
As a semi casual player who's played through the game countless times, my personal tier list is
1. Jacob's, very powerful and reliable for fight for your life. My personal favorite and I think you should always take any quality gun (excluding ARs, as they can be lackluster at times.)
2.hyperion, good chip damage and very accurate, nice side arm for sniping or good sniping
3.Torgue, once again good for fight for your life, and while I personally hate using explosive weapons, their power is undeniable
4.maliwan,these guns are best used for utility. If it's not a launcher or SMG, I would recommend staying away unless it's extremely good.
5.Tediore, these guns are solid in the early game, but they tend to be underwhelming late game. From personal experience, if it's not a shotgun or a quality launcher, it's not worth it.
6. Bandit/scav, I personally love these guns early game,but like tourge, I wont deny they suck, as their only real highlights are high ammo cap pistols.Shotguns, and launchers. The ARs are quite the tradeoff, as they dont tend to do enough damage,have horrible accuracy,and bad reload speed.
7.Vladof,this is ranked low only because of my inexperience with the guns, and I will say I have a love for their smgs, and only their smgs.
8.Dahl, I hate the burst fire function, especially with ars and snipers. Their weapons either dont do enough damage or do too much and the burst is uneeded.

tediore guns to me have the opposite effect of what you stated. for example, I had to use my throw reload 3 times to kill a killer marauder in early game, but tossed my SMG once and killed a treant (granted the treant was slagged and I had a bee shield)

Vladof elemental weapons are a force to be reckoned with.
Hyperion is a good choice. I might choose Maliwan because of their pistols and sniper rifles. Funny thing is is that I don't look for Hyperion parts on my weapons.

I think bandit and Jakob's are my favorite but it just feels like they are underwhelming and inconsistent with their non uniques. Maliwan is my #1 for the sole reason of moxxi. End game bl2 almost requires a grog or some kind of moxxi weapon and all though there are some from other manufactures maliwan just seems to have the best, along with the God teir norfleet and fotfh and antagonist shields maliwan just feels so great. I also feel like tediore shouldn't even be compared to the rest of the guns due to being more like explosive tomahawks than guns and can either be op on axton or kreig or a boat load of ass like a gaige

There isn't such thing like best and worst manufacturer. Every single manufacturer has its own pluses and minuses. Every manufacturer has its own special items which makes them worth using. Also sometimes is better to mix parts on certain weapons or items to have better results than matching parts to manufacturer.

Hyperion makes shitty sniper rifles and average smgs. From Torgue outside of maybe ravagers, few ar's and maybe injectors everything is just mediocre or even bad. The same goes to Tediore, Maliwan and Vladof.
If everything is crap then nothing is crap.
Bandit sucks, Hyperion sucks, Torgue sucks, Maliwan sucks, everything sucks if you don't use it how it should be used and not in proper build. All depends what weapon you use, against who and in which build.
The ones I don't like: Bandit, Tedior, and Hyperion
The ones I do like: Jakobs and Vladof
Inbetween: Torgue and Maliwan
The Thre Dog is the only Bandit weapon I've ever used for a decent period of time. It was a lifesaver early on in Frostburn Canyon with several characters.
I do find that torgues weapons are pretty good at early levels, when you don't get many legendary or elemental weapons - they can deal decently high damage and when you don't have better elemental they're pretty solid. That said, they are outdone in late game by many weapons, and don't last very long in early leveling.
i agree that bandit weapons usually get surpassed by just about everything with notable exceptions such as the the slagga or the tattler but for the best manufacturer

I find that Dahl is my favorite weapons manufacturer. I really like the low recoil with the burst fire it's really good for accuracy. However as for their snipers it's kinda difficult for me to decide if I like it or hate it. I like the burst fire rate because I like being versatility. I'm able to snipe at a distance, while if an enemy is running towards me, I'm able to take it out as well. This is my opinion of course, and I always play as Zer0 or as Mordecai. In other words I usually play as a sniper class. My favorite sniper rifle from BorderLands 2 is the Night Terror. I find it does the damage that I want and has great accuracy. I prefer it as a corrosive element because it's easy to take out Loaders and Buzzards with it.
Hyperion hates my Maya. I never got any elemental weapon from that company.

I love the Hyperion shotguns especially with SLAG and using Salvador with a high fire rate SMG is quite something to try out if you wanna see alot of damage . I hate Torgue weapons I absolutely never use them unless I get 1 from right at the start of a new character . Great video even though years ahead now I still love watching old BL2 videos and I still love playing BL2 who's here in 2022 ?

Best manufacturer in the series was SnS. This is back when manufacturers weren't almost exclusive in their niche as manufacturers, but they seemed to actually have the most going for them. They had an INCREDIBLY large ammo capacity, and some of their guns rivaled even Jakobs or torgue. It was honestly almost OP if it wasn't for the fact they had the slowest reloads (which even isn't the case when it came.to their pistols!)

I don't like Hyperion, their snipers are horrible, their pistols are mediocre at best, their shields are bad. The only exceptional thing about them are shotguns. For me Jakobs is the thing, they're very reliable, have good damage and you don't need to worry about matching elements.

one thing i like about the explosive handguns is that once ur adjusted and u know u cant fire 'straight lines' at enemies more than 50ft away u can predict the 'arc of the bullet fired and ive had some cool blind kills hitting headshots but 'lobbing/arcing' an explosive pistol round over their cover etc
I'm a big Krieg player, so my personal bests pretty much have to be Maliwan and Torgue. Least favorite is obviously Jakobs since there are very few elemental Jakobs weapons.
From an objective standpoint I would say that in a group scenario as I usually play, Jakobs is still my least favorite, with Bandit beating it out for one gun variety in particular: the Bandit slag SMG. Jakobs single action on basically everything tends to annoy me personally and I am rarely the sniper in my friends group. Meanwhile the Bandit slag SMGs with decent parts provides very consistent slagging for massively extended periods of time due to the mag size.
Vladof actually takes my top spot for personal enjoyment because of the bane of everyone's existence, that being spiniguns. Nothing to me feels better than walking into a fight and watching the barrel spin up before throwing a veritable torrent of lead at whatever happens to be in front of me. Are they better than other barrel types? Nope, but they're fun. I also really enjoy the Anarchist pistol.

To be honest every manufacture is great on each weapon even though they have flaws. Honestly it's hard for me to picking one cause they all have uses in some ways.
Favorite: Vladof, really like fast fire rate on weapon's.
Best: Maliwan, with the gun elements you are unstoppable examples like the Norfleet.
Worst: Bandit, although their rocket launchers are great the others are kind of point less in capacity.

the actualizer is actually really good against larger enemies like terra, crawmerax jr, tinder snowflake, the pumpkin kingpin, voracidous, vermiverous, saturn, bunker, and the warrior. it just isnt the best on smaller enemies or getting crits. also the torgue ogre is really good as well
I can't stand Dahl. They feel terrible to use.
High firerate Dahl weapons are always worth a try, sometimes they have almost zero delay between bursts-you can get relics that reduce the delays even more if you really wanted. I used to hate Dahl weapons, but on my most recent playthrough I've been giving them more of a chance and actually if the rate of fire is more than 8 and the stats look good, it is definitely worth testing, sometimes they almost function like full autos
If you can find a way, either through skills or relics, to lessen the downsides of bandit weapons they can actually be pretty good. Most of them have +damage for a lot of their parts. Axton is really good with them. Might do a bandit run with him.

It depends on the character you picked, like Torque guns are usually considered the worse for Maya but top picks for Axton or Gaige.

I've only used it in the community balance patch but the Storm from Maliwan is a gun I used for almost 20 levels before replacing it. It seemed to be very overpower on my Gaige.

Maliwan weapons are all really accurate and elemental while still looking awesome while Torgue weapons are inaccurate and only explode and look like giant warning signs or weapons that look like they're used by nuclear test dummies

I can’t recall a time where I used a Tediore weapon because I liked it ever. I love Hyperion Shotguns. I love Vladof snipers. I love Dahl Pistols and SMG’s. I love Torgue AR’s. I love Dahl simply for the accuracy and being able to get like 3-4 headshots in less than a second with a burst. I don’t like the long reloads for Jakobs and the non-elemental. I don’t like trying to wrestle with Jakobs recoil either. Bandit sucks because I don’t need the massive magazine. It’s not hard to find cover to reload for a second, and considering how bad it’s weapons are because of the mag size, you might not kill all of the enemies before needing a long ass 5 second reload anyhow.

New to Borderlands 2 starting TVHM now and my general favourites were Dahl SMG, jakobs lawman pistols, vladof assault rifles and snipers
If you play axton i would reccomend a Tediore Build, Salvador is probably a grog nozzle which needs dragon keep and unkempt harold which you can get from savage lee. Gaige is just, anything i would guess i dont have any dlc , same for krieg, And vladof set would be good for long range Zer0. Torgue is for close range Zer0
@@magnoliaonly6488 I am now lvl 68 with Zero, on ultimate vault hunter. Got a gun/melee build rolling a explicit unkempt, a diamond anarchist vladof with fire damage and the good and bad touch at high levels for health gating.
I am spending time farming Pyro Pete for seraphs as I want the Florentine and anarchist shield. But also farming XP to get them at 72.
UVHM is amazing, just need friends to catch up so I can try farm for the Norfleet, soloing for vermivorous is awful

I find Tediore exploding weapons reloads pretty helpful when tyring to maintain high anarchy stacks with Gaige. Specially if I want to use a rocket launcher. Even if the -1000% accuracy shoots a rocket at my feet and kills me, at least the rocket launcher, well, rocker launches at the center of the screen.
sadly anarchy gaige kinda ruins the fun of tediores, as there's nothing more fun then shooting one bullet and yeeting your SMG at a rakk 100 feet in the sky

How do you use it well then
I love all manufacturers, except for Bandit. The best for me are Dahl and Jakobs, more specifically Dahl Pistols and SMG’s, and Jakobs for the Striker, Longriders and Quads. Runner ups are Maliwan because they’re the only manufacturer that makes guns with moving parts and flashing lights. Very pretty. Tediore is super fun because they take something as idiotic as throwing your gun at the enemy and turn it into a really viable and fun mechanic. Grenade Axton is ungodly with a good Tediore SMG.

I mostly use Jakobs snipers and rifles, Torgue shotguns, Vladof pistols, Malian SMGs, and Bandit launchers. However, I've gotten some really good Bandit SMGs and shotguns. Dahl is good for the occasional SMG or pistol. Hyperion uniques are their only decent guns.
In light of this, the worst manufacturer is definitively Tediore, unless you're doing something funny with Axton or Krieg.

I thought Hyperion snipers got more accurate as you stayed zoomed as well. I could be wrong about this, but I thought I remembered that being the case.
They do, he's saying people don't like them cause the first few seconds of aiming are less accurate

I only did TVHM recently despite playing the base game several times before, and I very quickly dropped my love for jakobs stuff
I disagree, banit shotguns like the oberkill and room cleaner are great.
Finally im not the only one, sure you could argue that the others have "better" stats but ill take a Bandit Shotgun over a Tediore one just to hear that awesome bang sound.

In my humble opinion the best manufacturer is Hyperion, they have trash accuracy due to the guns sway while aiming but the mags accuracy and damage of the guns is just way too good to care and I’m a Krieg main so Hyperion shotguns are my go to
