Imagine Steve with his own Hot Rod shop truck?! “ Mind explosion 💥” I bet everyone here who has been with this channel since the beginning, would like to see that happen
Awesome Project !! Love that it has the wide bed and wide five wheels. Your idea of a mild chop is spot on. Needs a Flathead. Looking forward to your Winter videos with this.
Right? I'm putting a sawhorse under the hinge point on those flimsy recycled beer cans! That said, they seem to do the job, at least for these "light weight" vehicles.
Matt, Mike and Steve, glad you saved that old 1931 pickup truck. That's the kind of truck I want to buy and best of luck with it!!! I know you guys will do a great job as always
The big red truck has really turned out to have been a wise investment! Your friend has a bitchin' garage! Cool project to have to work on. Many different ways you can go on this, all of them very interesting! GOOD JOB!
Parts. Parts. Everywhere there's parts. I'm always on the lookout for stuff for my 53 Packard hardtop kustom project while I continue forward progress on my 57 Catalina.
So that just might be the perfect truck for me when completed. Plenty of room for my sailboat poppets, could stuff many leave bags in the back for dump runs and the rare trip to Home Depot. I'll be watching (as usual: you probably know that!).
The thumbnail reminds me of that Aerosmith album cover. Cool new project, by the way. I loved the highboy roadster truck with its beer keg fuel tank. This'll fill the gap it left.
Considering you already have another parts truck in the works you may want to consider something like a 1960's style Hot Rod. Picking up on the dash consider a 302 tricked out with an inappropriate amounts of chrome and a nice interior and paint job.
Maybe a slight chop like you said and stretch the cab for more leg room while you at it also. Extended cabs look pretty cool and they gain the leg room too.. Keep up the great content!!
Matt Matt Matt, Truly my opinion -- I've done several trucks and currently completing a '32 that I de-chopped (and de-channeled). Chopped coupes look cool as do lowered convertible tops on roadsters, but I've never seen a chopped truck that didn't venture into the realm of disproportion -- in layman terms they look like ass.
I feel Jaime, my 30 sedan has been sitting for a few years now. All after having it chopped and engine built. Just stopped when we got to mocking up mounting the engine
I like the fenderless look on this one with the wide 5's. Chopping is something I'd never do because A. I don't like it, B. us taller guys have to get in them, and then find out we no longer fit.
Steve..please consider leaving this little truck with the 4 banger in it. I think it would be a given for a change. In most cases, a V8 is an upgrade install. Please stay with the 4 banger for a change. 😊
@@S7midnight A 45hp light farm tractor is also great but..... As Seattle Speed Shop Mat sed, you'll never pay so much to go so slow. In the late 60s we wouldn't take a running perfect post war 6 for free because we could get running V8s for $25. They all got tossed to scrap by the 70s because even the 6s were so boring. I have a 31 Hudson long 8 coupe but even though its a gorgeous car I wouldn't keep it if it didn't keep up with traffic.
@@danontherun5685 of course, but you don't get an engine like that to go fast or something. You get an engine like that just to have it, and to be honest they have many V8 and zero r4s so why not ?
Exactly my question, but I was reading the comments before doing it and here it is. I've followed the channel for years and don't remember the little pickup being sold.
A small block chevy s 10 5 speed 9 inch ford rear end from a late 50s ford wagon rancho would be perfect . More fun to drive than a banger. Ask me how I know 😮
...not to mention the more you have lower the seat to accommodate the diminished height the more you have to pike to drive the dang thing. Not good -- can't stress this enough. They're already cramped enough.
Are you ever going to recover the seat in the Red truck? Or is this going to be one of your famous Thats the way it looked Back in the day. because they were cheap and lazy

Paint that thing the dark green that's on the box. Yes, let Steve have at it. Leave him alone and let's see where it goes.
That green is great & it needs a V-8!
@@kodak_jack Ya. Go with the green theme
According to the ITG calendar, this is Big Red Truck month!
Haha yep!
Straight out of a Stroker McGurk cartoon! Should be a great project. A hopped up banger would be cool.
Good grief, what an awesome garage set up Jamie's got!
Awesome Project !! Love that it has the wide bed and wide five wheels. Your idea of a mild chop is spot on. Needs a Flathead. Looking forward to your Winter videos with this.
I agree, put a flat head in it. Will help it's look a lot. After all, it's a hot rod pickup.
@@Bonar-62 ya flathead, probably have one just waiting.
Nail head will be perfect
Another cool project. I've had Model A trucks before, love them. (don't fit so good in them any more LOL) Steve's the man, let him at it.
Yes. Would love to see the build, including the chop. Steve for the lead and paint it green
Steve gets a company vehicle hell yeah can't wait go steve love this channel
Another great new project! It's going to be a busy winter! Yes to the chop! Go Iron Trap, keep moving forward!
Hope this gets in the shop soon. I’d like to see the process for the chop and the finished truck.
I am also working on a 1929 Model A Pickup you project looks great
That’s a lot of faith to put in those ramps!

This truck is awesome. On my bucket list as well. Steve in this truck is a good call!

A testimony to self discipline! All that garage space not filled with projects.
I Love trucks! I have two 1939 Fords and a 1948 Willys!
Another great project !
Nice, these trucks have always been among my favorite vintage vehicles, after a '32 Vicky!
I have a steeltop 31 all rodded. ❤ it.
Bangers can be very cool!
Should be a fun project, I can't wait for a video on disassembling the front axle or building exhaust!

Yup, prewar cabins are already way too small. Best to keep practical front of the list.
de-chop I've never seen done
@@xmo552 I asked the seller if he saved the pieces from the chop which they did and I cut along his chop lines then welded them back in the mix.

Love the truck builds!
Yea , I can see Steve vision now Nova rear end with 4:11 gears , big block Chevy motor with a 671 blower , rock crusher 4 speed trans. Or 400 turbo
All these projects will keep the channel going strong. Seems there is a project for every day of the work week at ITG now. See you on Tuesday!
Keep the banger

Yeah, you have to sit on the floor, then your knees are sticking up…. No chop. Also NEVER TIE ONTO THE MIDDLE OF THE FRONT AXLE!!!!!
Great truck project . Can sort out the body & frame first , then try it with the 4"banger" for testing . May be fine as is for a parts runner .

cool project
Ya gotta put in a hot rod Flattie v8. It screams for one!

Banger, banger, banger!
It would be cool to see a non choped hot rod shop truck. Like the kids would have done to there dads truck in the 40s
Cool truck!
I think a little 283 with a 5 speed manual. My opinion
Very nice
Hey Matt what happened to the jalopy Roadster pickup with the blower on it
Exactly my question, but I was reading the comments before doing it and here it is. I've followed the channel for years and don't remember the little pickup being sold.
They mentioned it in a couple podcasts, that it was sold to a viewer who took a liking too it just after they finished it.
Sold over a year ago, they’ve mentioned it several times.
They would love to keep them all..gotta have the room for the next projects and keep the channel in cash
I've wondered that myself ...

Much as I like stock engine left in truck this one cries for a V-8 for go power. Never know when you need a bit mores horses.😅
Time for a Hemi! Dodges are the smallest.
ITG, for some reason I thought this was the truck that had the tri-power Pontiac motor, guess I was wrong!!
I love trucks. 👍🍺
Do you guys still have the Riley overhead banger engine? That would be really cool in this truck
Most A Model beds are 56 inches long , the late '31 bed is 61 inches long .
👍
What's the latest on Mike's Chevy Cabriolet?

Hi Matt. How about putting a Cadillac engine and a Lasalle trans combo
While I know you don't do bangers, I think it'd be a cool one to strip n soup for the Allentown Drags...and maybe some dirt trackin'.

Cycle & bobbed '32 rears.
'32 shell & 1 pc hood top.

Well if your gonna build it I’d put that hopped up Olds engine in it you have and make it a tire frying parts running machine!👍😂
Wasn’t this in a few videos a couple years ago with only your friend in them?
It really needs a bigger engine in it.. It needs a flathead!

cool little A truck, not sure about the stance.
You guys ever gonna finish a car?
Was this the same truck there was a build series on for a little bit. On this channel?
Nope different one
Put a flathead in it
He put a Chevy dash in the truck, now the doors shut like a square body. 😅
