I'm up on the K&P Trail for an early start to birding on this beautiful mid-May morning. Join the dogs and I as we wander from the White Lake Road parking area to the new Elbow Creek bridge and back; a total of 11 km.

I know you *love* this time of year. I am so happy you can savour it, through nature, birding, and early morning hikes.
Yes, May passes far too quickly. But you can then look forward to May 2025. lol
The very high humidity is unfortunate. Will feel like plus 37 here by Wednesday. But I think people have learned to live with it.
I hope birds, animals, and plants don't suffer too much, with the changes in our climate.
Hope you enjoy a wonderful week ahead Todd! Always look forward to your work. Pat

A wonderful video Todd, thank you! Like you, I enjoy peace, solitude and nature on my hikes. So, I will head out early as well, to beat the ATVs.
I absolutely love the deep early mornings shadows. The bird songs are beautiful to enjoy! Thank you very much for identifying the birds for us!
This really is an amazing video... with an incredible bird list. Will enjoy this one several times. lol Thank you! Pat

Thanks Pat! It’s a great time of year for those of us who enjoy being out in the natural world. My early morning walks are the highlight of each day for sure. There is the cool air and the anticipation of what might be seen. For example, this morning we had 5 Least Sandpipers in our pond. I got decent pictures of them as they were quite happy to feed with me watching them from 30-50 feet away. Things seem to be slowing down somewhat, as far as migration is concerned. But still some new arrivals coming in. 😊. Been doing a lot of gardening lately too…. which I need to reduce really due to getting old☹️
