    Is there any guarantee that this nominal sum would go where it needs to go? I don't think so somehow. We pay enough already through our taxes.

    We already paid through the massive tax burden in this country

    • @AdeboFunkyVoodoo

      This country does not have a "massive tax burden":
      We are not in the top ten for taxation. We are not in the top twenty for taxation.
      We are around 30th.
      So that is not massive and we get a lot of value for every pound in taxation.

    The moment a fixed fee is implemented, you will quickly see that fee increase because that always happens. I think what would be better is if the NHS managed finances more effectively. The highest paying role i have found is an NHS Talent Manager at £520,500 per year. That sounds ridiculous. You can't claim to be struggling and be paying amounts like that. It's like the water companies' massive bonuses for the elites and bad performance for the people it's working for.

    There are simply too many people allowed to use the NHS.
    Anyone who chooses to move to the UK should have to work and contribute tax and NI for a set number of years before they have access to it. Until then, they should be required to have private insurance.
    It's hardly rocket science 🤦🏻‍♂️

      Migrants pay an NHS health surcharge when filling in their Visa applications (with some exceptions) so they already are paying into it along with their taxes.
      Migrants aren’t the issue, it’s the woeful funding and management of the NHS that’s the issue

      How much do they pay?
      They've also supposed to have a guaranteed income of at least £29,000 a year or £88,000 in savings.
      Those dom care, barber shop and Deliveroo jobs must pay REALLY well.
      We 1.2 million new arrivals last year and over a million the year before. Every single one of which can use the NHS and claim benefits.....but of course, that has absolutely NO detrimental affect whatsoever.......

      in theory, maybe.
      How does that pan out in practice? How many have been refused NHS treatment or benefits because they haven't worked for long enough or paid enough in contributions?

    We already pay for the NHS, TAXES! I resent having to go private for dentistry, even paying the £28 for a band 1 checkup lasting 10 minutes is outrageous.

    Absolutely not - the root of the problem with the NHS is ADMIN. The operations/admin side of the NHS MUST be streamlined - cut out the middle management (the ‘fat’ if you will), reduce bosses’ pay and rebalance salaries to ensure that those working on the front lines finally receive a liveable wage.
    If we accept to pay a Netflix-esque subscription service, this will set a dangerous precedent for increased costs and WORSENING healthcare. Subscriptions are for luxuries; healthcare is a human right.

    • @AdeboFunkyVoodoo

      Administration is not the root of the problem. This is tabloid nonsense.

    The sad part realistically, children in the next 15 years NHS will no longer be free. Insurance companies will be having a field day.

    My wife and i are both pensioners just over the threshold, my wife as been suffering toothache for weeks, she finally had the tooth out yesterday £76 bloody quid to take out a tooth and she needs other work we can’t afford so we’ll have to save up and we all know what happens when you start charging for NHS treatment starts at nominal charge and ends up rising and rising to the point you can’t afford it.

    • @jonathanhill9504
      @jonathanhill9504 13 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I don't know if I'm missing something but I don't understand how people don't have a spare £80 for dental care... It's so cheap in comparison to other medical expenses. Having spare money for a test rather than treatment I can comprehend but the idea of not having money for treatment I can't. Have you tried spending less on avocados and coffee or getting a job in cyber?

    • @KevinSmith-ki7yl
      @KevinSmith-ki7yl 12 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @ my argument is once they start putting a charge on NHS treatment it starts at a nominal fee and then the price starts to rise every time they need a few bob in the coffers and if you can’t understand that i can’t help you, by the way they want another £460 pound for the rest of her treatment and that’s on the NHS.

  • @johnbrown8077

    If things are that bad then you need you introduce wealth taxes. Charging peple will delay treatment and harm people

  • @jonathanhill9504
    @jonathanhill9504 13 วันที่ผ่านมา

    Lower the taxes slightly and charge £15 for an appointment. The number of appointments would substantially drop. People are fleecing the NHS because they think it's owed to them

    How come every time these topics come up it ends up all about the nurses sod them they are in a far better position financially than many many people . One you need to remember the tax I payed payed the pensions of the generation before us . The dentist were available to all when it was on the nhs now it’s private it’s not available . If the dr,s can’t see us all now how will paying alter that it will only mean less nhs dr,s to see us they will all be raking in the pounds . I love how these guys who are earning a great income want the poorest to pay to make them feel better

    NHS accessibility should be based upon showing evidence of being, through at least one parent, 2nd generation or more born in the UK or marrying someone as such. I’d personally rather say 3rd generation but many others sadly wouldn’t.
