Not gonna lie, I actually enjoy excruciatingly difficult boss battles in JRPGs. Hidden bosses are something to live for and they're unfortunately not something we see enough of these days.
The thing I hate about Galdera tho is that literally all of the satisfying lore for all 8 stories is locked behind a sequence of incredibly ambiguous side quests that have nothing to do with any of the main characters
could this game have had any worse of a difficulty curve tho? the entire game is piss easy but this mf throws an entire game’s worth of difficulty at you all at once. certainly, however, i am glad this game does have one difficult boss that feels rewarding to defeat.
@Joshua Serrano Nah, the joke is that in a speedrun, Therion is set up to nuke with Winnehild at 1 HP (Fortitude). Thing is, you need someone to give him BP first, so if he goes first when the fight starts, you can guess how well that goes.
@Joshua Serrano Since you've only just started, just note that nothing we do in a speedrun is indicative of casual play, at all. Therion is actually one of the better tanks with evasion stacking, and no one's a true glass cannon. It's just that, for a speedrun, we need him (or any other character, this is just how the route worked out) at a single HP left to beat this boss fast enough, so even a small breeze will knock him over. And him going first means we can't nuke the boss sections in turn 1, leaving the party open for 2 turns of its attacks instead of just 1. It's bad news. So, my original comment was just poking fun at the fact that "Therion First vs Galdera" is a big meme for the speedrun community and fitting with how the video has Therion's sprite accompanying the track.
@Joshua Serrano Nah, but in the speedrun, Therion is your Warmaster, so you want him to use his Divine Skill ASAP. But if he moves first, then that means every part of Galdera moves before he can
Ok, this cover is (part of) what pushed me to play the game. I just had to hear the original, but I didn't want to spoil it by looking it up on youtube. I wanted to hear it in-game. I'll die... on purpose! that sure is the plan!
Know that, if you defeat Galdera, there's no way you can battle it again, so be careful when saving the game or you'll have to start a new file from scratch if you ever wish to do that fight again!
