    I spent a whole day sanding adhesive off 2 half walls, I wish I had found this video first! Now I can just do this for the rest of my walls! Lifesaver!

      Oh yaaa, better late then never I guess! Glad it helped, it’s a time saver for sure! Depending how rough the walls are too, sometimes I rip them right out, or add drywall over them if the space allows.

    Omg this video is a lifesaver! Currently battling a wall in my new home after removing wallpaper and having adhesive from hell!
    I’ve been trying to remove it for months slowly and now I’m just going to prime straight over that bad boy 😅
    Thank you!!

      Glad that it could help! One thing I'd keep in mind, wall paper adhesive is a bit different then what I'm fixing in this video, so i'd recommend doing a test area first, prime it, paint it, and see if it adheres or not.
      Good luck!

    I'm doing a similar job right now to this video I'm very happy I found this video lol. I was worried about the tile adhesive causing failure or bubbles in my plaster job so I didn't know if I should primer it with binz or killz but I definitely will be using the 123 primer like you before I skim coat. Thanks 🙏

      Yes! I just did a bathroom with those pink tiles as well.. ended up ripping the plaster off completely :p
      But it’s nice to know you don’t have to go to that length to update your walls!

      I initially thought I'd spray our ugly pink tiles white but I'm exploring possibly removing them and having a cleaner looking wall. I'm nervous to mess it up and take off pieces of wall or having it look messy bc I've never done anything like this.

    On my wall the adhesive is slightly sticking out past the wall in some spots. Should that just be sanded or? Thanks

    • @zackcrafted
      @zackcrafted  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey, this was actually the same for this wall. I knocked off some higher points, but then just skim coated the rest, that’s why I go over it a few times and feather it out a bit onto wall

    Very helpful video. I'm dealing with tile residue in my bathroom as well. Just to clarify, once you finished the skim coats did you then reapply fresh drywall over top?

    • @zackcrafted
      @zackcrafted  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi madalyn, nope! No new drywall, I just skim coated it multiple times until it was smooth enough to paint. A bit of a process but in this situation it saves time and money

    Hi Great Job, would you know if this method, would be compatible with putting up tub surround panels. People at hardware store don't think the Tub Surround glue(Lepages) would stick to the walls

    • @zackcrafted
      @zackcrafted  ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question!
      It’s a glue on tin surround then? You could probably avoid the skim coat priming altogether and if you’ve removed the old tile and it’s left behind residue, you could probably apply new glue directly onto that.
      Hard to know without looking at what your situation is though.
      I would be confident with using my method for a tub surround, as long as you let the primer cure properly before apply the tub surround.
      Another, and better, option is tearing it out and applying new moisture resistant drywall or even better, denshield. Might seem like a lot of work but it could be quicker in the long run

    Can u do this 2 popcorn ceiling ( another ugly idea)

    • @zackcrafted
      @zackcrafted  17 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi,
      Good question, I have done it before but sometimes it depends on the popcorn, if it’s raw (unpainted/primed) and you try and skim coat it it might not adhere, but if it is painted you should be able to just skim coat over it.
      Another option I do sometimes is add 1/2” drywall, depending on the situation

    Can we prime and skim coat on top of wood panel to install backsplash. Please let me know.

    • @zackcrafted
      @zackcrafted  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Oh good question. I would be hesitant to do that, because the wood paneling won't be structural secure. Best to remove it and install a sturdier backer, such as drywall.
      Depends a bit on the situation.
      Good luck!

    • @Clarity5970
      @Clarity5970 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you! Still one more question. The wood panel is made of Knoty pine wood and is part of wall structure of the house. Looks pretty sturdy. It’s a post and beam house. Do you still suggest going for cement board or hardie board. Appreciate your suggestions.

    • @zackcrafted

    Did you just feather upper edges (on the half wall areas)so there's no notable bulges?

    • @zackcrafted
      @zackcrafted  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yep! That’s exactly what I did, the glue only stuck out about a 16th, so it wasn’t to bad to feather out
