It's been over 3 years since I purchased this pair of workbooks from blundstone. Foundation Crack Repair, Sika

We're using an expanding epoxy which will seal any water penetration thats not caused by hydrostatic pressure. While exterior excavation and sheet membrane may be the best fix, cost, time, permits, may not always allow for it. This inexpensive kit can be used by the home owner to save money, time, and mess. If your foundation is cracked in a finished space, or a living space, consult a contract...

    I've got a few exposed ducts like this in my finished basement, and there is a mixture of drop ceiling and hard lid. The previous owners tacked drop ceiling tracks right to the sheet metal with the intention of covering up the duct work partly, but I haven't been keen on finishing it that way since it looks dumb and the ceiling is already low. Maybe I'll just paint everything white and do some drywall here and there to help conceal some areas (there are various headers and sections and rooms, so nothing is straight forward. Nice job on this, I'll be borrowing your idea!

    Wrong. The 3 layered walls are doing the work. 1 layer drywall , 1 layer wood, and one layer foam. The extra layer makes a huge difference.

    Do these doors drip water on the floor when you swing them open?

    • @zackcrafted
      @zackcrafted 14 วันที่ผ่านมา

      These had a drip edge designed to catch the water and drain it back towards the shower pan when swung open, I’d say it was 70% effective at that haha

    Well done! Note: that Sika kit comes with PU foam, not epoxy. Different regions get different kits for whatever reason. I'm not sure there is a conclusive answer for which technology is best (foam or epoxy). The foam is the only option if the crack is wet; the epoxy is the only option if you want more strength in the wall. You can buy the epoxy tubes yourself if you don't want to use the PU kit. Keep up the good work!

    TEMPERATURE IS MOST IMPORTANT ~ any temps over 75 degrees is going to reduce the application time to drying haze will be approximately 15 minutes ~ Mix small amounts pretty loose and work small areas like 2' x' 3' ~ I also suggest using "distilled water" so the manufacture cannot say that '''''''''there may be chemicals in your water making it dry extremely fast'''' Work Fast in high temp situations and clean tools immediately WITH EACH MIX ~ [within 15 minutes] are they will be toast!! The F/A brand does make great smooth seams when done properly.....

    My experience with Blundstones as someone who has used them in Ontario for a winter boot/commuting boot, ( approximately 5-10km a day year round) has been they are tough, comfortable, sturdy, and span over all the seasons for foot protection. I put a sheepskin liner in the bottom for winter and have never suffered for cold feet, which is a big deal since I easily get cold. My job also used to mean I was pushing and pulling heavy weight through the snow, ice, sleet and rain, and these kept me and my cargo firmly upright. My last pair lasted about 2-3 years with daily heavy use from November to March as well.
