Biggest issue is the 3v1 system because 4 max players, secondary most phantoms host sucks because they have zero knowledge of how gank and anti gank works.
@theshagohod probably realise the p2p might bring the worse outcome of pvp players so make it 4 max as safe to avoid game bug and crash. But really execute badly with the unbalance of invasion. Don't get me wrong invasion are really sweat and coward sometimes but the advantage on host just unfair comparing every way.
you use twinks and overlevels interchangeably, but the classical definition of a twink is someone who plays the whole game at a low level or has their friend drop them end game stuff so they can noob stomp in the early areas. an overleveled phantom is a completely different but somewhat connected issue. When you invade, particularly at low levels when your build is far from complete, overlevels create incentive to twink. when every invasion has at least one lvl 400 phantom you’re basically throwing if you don’t have max flasks and some of the tools in your pocket that can only be acquired late game. I actually don’t have a huge problem with that when it’s done legitimately, because it does take skill to venture into high level areas without upgrades. The problem is that everyone that twinks has their friend drop them the items they want, so there is no skill involved whatsoever. They can throw rot pots and lightning all day and nobody can counter them - unless there’s another twink. It’s a vicious cycle/arms race and it’s the main reason I stopped playing until the DLC. every invasion is either a massive sweat fest that nobody really enjoys, or it’s over in seconds because the host is clueless and I’m optimized for the gank squads. tldr: game sucks, play something else

Yup, like I said most invaders don't twink to ruin honest coop fun, they twink so they can have a chance against the host's 2 gods
