Excellent video. I take CDP Choline daily to aid my cognitive faculties. One concerning issue is that the majority of medications are anticholinergic and so many people who are taking prescription medications ranging from antidepressants to antihistamines to analgesic medication are having their brain's choline depleted with time and lack of choline is directly correlated with dementia. As such it would be a good idea for medical practitioners to recommend supplementation with Citicoline for such patients but the majority of primary care practitioners don't do this. Do you think this is because they're not taught about the importance of Citicoline in medical school?
My understanding is that anticholinergics don't necessarily deplete choline, instead they don't allow choline to be used properly through a mechanism known as receptor competition. Muscarinic and nicotinic receptors become blocked by anticholinergic compounds and therefore don't allow the optimal functioning of the acetylcholinergic system.
Adara i think i have brain fog (or MCI) from my anticholinergic burden of 6 for like 9 months - do believe i can recover/advice fo under go/where to look for hep??
@@EvanRajala I'm not a medical practitioner so would suggest speaking with your primary care physician. However you can look into Citicoline supplements and may find it to be of benefit.
CDP-Choline vs Magnesium L-threonate.. Which would you say has a greater impact on memory function. Also would you recommend taking these supplements together in one stack? Or maybe alternating days, since they both have some of the same effects on cognition? Thanks in advance.. you have a new subscriber, love the content.

As a life long insomniac who has tried most every supplement imaginable with no success, Citicoline actually moved the needle just a bit. I take Phoshatidylcholine (420 to 840 mg/day) and Citicoline (264 to 581 mg/day) and I noticed improved sleep. Deeper and longer sleep (per my sleep cycle app on my phone). It is not a huge improvement, but as any insomniac will tell you, anything is better than nothing. I know the main reason for taking is not for sleep, but since it does work on brain health and neurotransmitters, maybe that's why I am seeing s slight improvement in my sleep.
TMA can then get converted in the liver into TMAO, a compound that may increase cardiovascular issues. Citicoline, on the other hand, may be a source of choline less prone to increasing TMAO.
My aunt fell from the stairs and had a traumatic brain injury after 2 weeks in the hospital we delivered her to her house where she is spending her recovery. At first, she can still remember things but every day her memory is getting worse right now she can't remember anything. Is it okay for her to take citicoline as a supplement although she's taking prescribed medication for her recovery? Will it still bring back her memory? Thank you very much for responding to my question. More power to you Doc./sir.
Hello Dr. I have liver cihrrosis in early stage and started taking Choline Bitartrate 1000mg pills once a day. It’s been 4 months now. What is the difference between the pills and dosage?
take this with food 1000mg alpha lipoic acid do this 2 times a day for a week and see how your liver is,it heals the liver very fast and its safe, you must take it with food
Hello doc, for how long you will be taking citicoline to improve cognitive functioning? Is it okay to stop it abruptly after one month of intake? or do we need to taper it down?

What I don't understand is, if CDP choline is just broken down into choline and cytidine in the intestine, why bother taking a citicholine supplement when you can just take choline?
Then why did the doc say he won’t recommend a brand. Surely he would have warned us if every other brand was fake? Then here in the UK and Europe we have trade descriptions laws that are taken seriously.
Your presentation is all over the place. You start out "pushing" CDP Choline then switch over to Cytidine; then switch back to CDP Choline. What's with that?
CDP choline is broken down into choline and cytidine in the intestine. I understood that he was saying that the cytidine which comes from the CDP choline is good

What about Atherosclerosis risk development associated with choline suplementation? Citicoline has the same risk?
Citicoline can be taken ongoing
is it possible to combine this with sulbutiamine and magnesium threonate? also does this produce a compound called, trimethylene N-oxide (TMAO).?
