Sting & Brett Hart were both terrific wrestlers. Loved both of these guys. They also worked well together in the ring with their matches & when they tag teamed together.
Sting always had great energy and really pumped up the crowd. Had a great look to him, athletic, and pretty strong. Brett was also a great worker but was more of a technical wrestler that took the business very serious. His seriousness made the matches look very legit. Brett Was great at selling and understood that if he also made his opponents look great he would have great matches. I dont really care who came up with that finisher, they were both my favorites growing up (:
Yeah, that's basically why Sting was my favorite. Never was a technician, but he's one of the most charismatic wrestlers ever, and he was a great athlete on top of that. In terms of pure athleticism, he may have had better leaping ability than any other wrestler of his size. 6'2" 250lb dudes shouldn't have that kind of hang time...but Sting did! And it made high spots out of seemingly mundane moves like dropkicks and splashes. Along with the great gimmick, he was solid on the mic. Never had the "catchphrases" that get printed on T-shirts and move merchandise (but he did have the masks that used to just be everywhere), but he was a good actor. He was believable, well-spoken, and coherent in his interviews/promos, and it never felt phoned-in or stilted. I'd say Sting was a better promo than Bret and he had a better look. Better athlete too. Certainly not the technician, not a ring general, but just solid all around and exceptionally physically gifted.
Sting starting using that Finisher in the 1980s Year's before Bret Hart ever used. Sting learned it in New Japan which that's it's real Name The Scorpion Death-Lock and something else. Than when Bret became a Singles Wrestler in Mid 1991 he asked the Guys in the Locker room if they could teach him how to do that Finisher. Whivh he claims he only saw it in Japan again Bret Hart lies like a Bastard. When this is 1991 and Sting is a Huge Ass Superstar Bigger than Bret Hart ever was especially than. Bret was a nobody even after he finally got the Belt but you can say his top year's we're in 93-94 and WWF was st an all-time low with him as Champion. And Sting became a Star in the 1980s while Bret was in a Tag Team from 85-91. Sting was huge in 87,88 and 1989 was when he exploded with the 50 minute draw with Ric Flair at Clash Of The Champions whih was up against Survivor Series or WrestleMania I think. And than with his Masterpiece vs Ric Flair where Flair put him on the Map I think it was Starrcade up vs Survivor Series which Vince threatened half the cable companies to not show it. And they did huge Numbers which that event blew out Survivor Series and I'm a WWF Guy. Send that's the Night sting wore The American Flag Color Face Paint and that Attire and Won The NWA World's Heavyweight Championship. And in the Clash Of The Champions match in 1989 or 88 Sting was all in Pink with Black Scorpion. So Bret Hart bit off Sting Big time and attire and finishing move. And the only reason people call it the Sharpshooter send think Bret used it first was cuz The WWF was world Wide and Vince knew how to promote as NWA and WCW was stuck in the South for Year's.
@@bigkev3184 Convenient that you left out the fact that Pat Patterson was the one who suggested that Bret use it and the fact that Bret was familiar with it. Konnan taught him the move in 1991. Sting and Bret never had any backstage heat with each other. They had mutual respect. Sting wouldn’t say multiple times that he liked Bret if he didn’t. Bret convinced Sting to stop doing the stage drop from the ceiling after Owen’s death. The fact is, many, many, many legit wrestlers don’t have a bad word to say about Bret. Hulk Hogan, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, HHH, and HBK hate bret, but when you’re the best not everyone’s going to love you. Also when WCW was purchased by WWE they never really gave sting a shot. If I recall they brought sting in to do a couple jobs for triple H to build up HHH and the cut him. So the same people treated sting like crap too.
That's why sting didn't go to wwe for almost 15 years after wcw because he knew the wwe wouldn't give him the same respect as a talent as wcw did. Sting is one of the all time greats he seems to be in good enough shape for one more run.
You got some of that wrong my dude, Kevin Nash actually likes and respects Bret a lot, and the same goes in reverse. As for Hogan I don't think there's any real hate for anyone, he was just always in it for himself is all. Caused a lot of BS that shouldn't have ever been. Scott Hall turned into a drug-addicted douche but HBK turned his life around completely and befriended The Hitman later on.

Actually he asked Bret and he talked to the family and they didn't mind sting dropping from the rafters. That's why he kept doing it long after Owen's death. That's just how respectable he is
Bret Hart actually admitted in his documentary "The best there is, the best there was, the best there ever will be", he stated, "Everyone thinks I invented it or learned it from my dad but actually the sharpshooter was just a move I saw a few times, and I asked some people backstage to teach me it...I think it was called the Scorpion Deathlock back then...and that's actually how it came about". I always wondered on how well they actually got along.
lolamar yes I agree Sting and the Undertaker are probably the classiest wrestlers that ever lived and I wish more of them were that way. You can tell just by the way they talk. Fuck the rest!
You really thought the feud was that good? I thought it had its moments but ultimately was lackluster considering what all they could have done with the feud and the places they could have gone with it. I think they really missed the boat, for one reason or another, on creating one of the most legendary feuds in the history of wrestling with the two of them. I think they ultimately should have had a hold vs hold match. Scorpion Death Lock vs The Sharpshooter. That would have been a natural finish to the feud to settle it. But I'm not sure if either one of them would have wanted to do the job to their own hold. And well, we all know how Bret can be when it comes to losing a match in any fashion sometimes.
Sting would've been happy to job for Bret, knowing Bret's propensity to throw a bitch fit whenever things don't go the way he wants them to go. Sting on the other hand is a team player who puts his company first, is willing to lose when the script and booker tell him to lose and never whines about it like Bret does.
@@MainEventMafia4Life lol bret doesn't wanna do the job 1 time in his career and now "we all know how bret is when it comes to losing"? Cmon man that's just dumb. He always lost when he was supposed to except Montreal.
@@joshuaa1605 - You took what I said a bit out of context. Of course Bret has done the job numerous times in his career. Between the 2 of them Sting would have probably been the one willing to do the honors first. Bret was always about protecting himself and how he looked to the fans when a lot of times he didn't understand not everything was about him and his evolvement.
@@rylandweet7750 Scorpian Deathlock is based on the actual original name though. Sasori-Gatame which directly translates as Scorpian hold (As the legs of the opponent look like a Scorpian's tail). Sharpshooter is named after Bret. Scorpian Deathlock is the actual english name for the move.
Hopefully most people know this, bit Sting was doing the scorpion death lock waaay before Bret took it and called the sharpshooter. To be fair, Sting didn't invent the hold either. It was called the Indian Deathlock before him
Sting definitely used the hold first and he credited Chosu for teaching him. Bret was tagging with Neidhart. But most WWF/WWE fans are blind to the fact that Sting used the scorpion deathlock around 1987-88 about a year before Hart... #Fact
Sting did it before Bret. And I also called it Scorpion Death Lock because the original move created by the Japanese wrestler he named it Sasori hold or something (sasori = 🦂).
Sting is so humble! He can’t even say that he had 4 yrs on top of Bret Hart. Sting was wrestling single matches while Bret was still in the Hart Foundation.
Robert you realize that sting never drew money despite being respected and such right, every time they put the title on him the company bled money, so they had to take it off. As much as people praise him, he never generated anything. No one will ever forget Bret the guy was pretty much the fall back guy in WWE every time someone failed or lost the company money he pulled the company back and kept it afloat. Remember when Flair, Kevin Nash, Michaels, Yoko, and even Taker has the belt and the company lost revenue, yes during that time wrestling was losing money but Bret actually kept it afloat and drew more money. Also the guy made Austin put him over and is widely regarded as the pros pro, the damn dude is a legend all over the world. Sting love the guy but no don’t be changing history you can’t it takes maybe 20 minutes to look stuff up and realize you are wrong try it.
Japanese wrestler Ricki Choshi used it first, Sting used it second. then brett used it when he resumed his solo career Sting used it before brett but with wwe fans living in their bubble refusing to watch other wrestling companies wouldn't know this.
The Prophet of Rage As one of the biggest Bret Hart fans as a kid, even I knew of Sting using the hold first. It didn’t matter who was first, just that it was used effectively in terms of telling a story in the ring.
Technically one could argue Bret is the only one to do the Sharpshooter since he places his left leg between his opponent's legs and turn to the left while everybody else do it with the right leg and turning on the right which would be the Scorpion Deathlock :p And Bret is not even lefthanded to justify this. When I asked him about it at an Axxess he jokingly answered "That's why it's The Sharpshooter and not everybody else's version"
The Prophet of Rage None of those guys use that hold better than Bret...none...try to dispute that, who cares about who used it first? Bret owned the shit out of the Sasori Gatame, fuck the WWE bubble, this is bigger than any argument about a bubble, even after popping that bubble, Bret's use of the hold trumps everybody else's use of it
Sting's starts with the right leg while brets starts with the left. That is the difference. They both found their own respective ways to make it look different from the other. I love them both. Legends

But Bret Hart made it look beautiful as much as now for the last 20+ years it's unreal how he can't seem to talk positive about anyone which us annoying as Hell. Cuz Bret Hart wasn't Great by any means he thinks he was & he doesn't hold a candle to HBK, or Ric Flair Macho Man, Hell Razor Scott Hall, Mr Perfect we're all guy that we're beyond Bret Hart & cuz of the way he was used & it's in WWF Fans heads cuz that's how they pretty much brainwashed us. Bret Hart didn't have half the Talent that his brother Owen Hart did & if they let Owen Wrestle the way he did in Canada when he was doing those crazy Ass flips that you didn't see in TV till Rey Mysterio in 96-97 Owen was doing that in the 80s which blows my mind. But him & HBK I use to love watching them Wrestle Man what Matches never had a bad one. And after the Screw Job when Owen came back with that New look pissed 📴 I thought 💭 that was the perfect chance open 🚪 for Vince McMahon & the WWF to make him the huge star & take over as the Bret Hart of the Next Generation Attitude ERA & the leader of The Hart Foundation. He was hot 🔥 at the time & it was believable they should of had him beat HBK for the WWF Title on Raw & than lost it back to HBK at DX IYH in December instead of the Shamrock match. It made perfect sense you would of had HHH screw him out of it cuz he went on to Feud with him for the European Title miss that Belt it was nasty Looking. But Owen Hart could of been World 🌎 Champion at that time & back when he had long hair & had the feud with Bret Hart & he won the King 👑 of the Ring I loved his look than all in Pink I thought he had the perfect look & I think they should of had him beat Bret at SummerSlam 94 in the Cage when Bulldog came back the Anvil turned there was so much great crap there that WWF missed on & The Hart Foundation 🆕 Formation should of started than. But why didn't Bret Hart put Owen over as WWF Champion for awhile think about it he could of easily pushed. Bret only agreed to lose at Mania cuz he was gonna Win the WWF Title later that night. Bret was all about himself that's the sad truth & that came out when he left for WCW many came out & saud what Owen Hart said Bret Hart said to him. Owen Hart didn't want to leave WWF like Bret Hart likes to make people believe he was happy there & Bret told him if you stay I'll never talk to you again your a backstabbing POS. And Vince Russo even tells a Story about Owen Hart calling him asking him to talk to Bret saying that it's true Owen wants to go but he can't get out & WCW won't do anything with him. And he even called Vince McMahon crying 😢 asking him to please tell Bret that he refused to let him out if his contract but the truth was Owen didn't want to leave he was happy in WWF & knew about the stories of WCW & that Bret would probably be okay but he could be screwing over his Career & Life for his family which you saw Bret Hart wasn't ok in WCW he did shit & Bulldog & Anvil Wrestled 1-2 matches Bulldog got hurt & they got fired less than a Year. Bret didn't do anything for them & they needed to work & than he started talking shit about bulldog putting his personal medical stuff out there cuz he signed back with WWF after Owen Died. He didn't care the Bulldog had a freaking family to support as Bret was making $3 Million Dollars a Year he didn't say offer to help his family that's what's crazy to me how these families who become rich 🤑💸💸 that we're so close have brothers and sisters poor or struggling & they don't even lend them a dime 💸 that's sum Evil 😈 dirty shit. That's bit the kinda family I was raised in & come from as I take care of my family parents & all & I have my own family & I don't have or didn't make Bret Hart money so that kinda shit makes me sick & I lose any kinda respect for people like that.
Bret and Sting should have been one for the ages. I remember being more excited for their match at Halloween Havoc than Hogan and Warrior 2 but the feud just fizzled out bc WCW dropped the ball.
Sting is the only other wrestler, other than Bret, that I've seen put the Scorpion Deathlock on properly. Those two always put the hold on nice and tight. A lot of wrestlers, Shawn Michaels and the Rock come to mind specifically, always put the hold on too loose, IMO.
Technically speaking, Sting was using the Scorpion Deathlock before Bret was using it. It originated in Japan as the "Scorpion hold" because of the way the opponent's leg is bent, resembling a Scorpion's tail. The only reason why some fans associate the move with Hart is because of WWE being a larger corporate entity than the NWA or WCW until 1996. The Scorpion Hold will always be the Scorpion Deathlock to me.
Sting is a super solid guy. Always respectful. The most interesting thing of his career is he went undefeated (29-0) in AEW while going winless (0-2) in WWE.
Bret Hart was also on WWF during the early years and Sting was on WCW, so that is a big reason why so many people think that Sting does the sharpshooter when it's really the scorpion death lock. WWF was just always the bigger promotion and seen in more places around the world.
according to Bret's book, after he split from Anvil and went off on his own, Bret was in need of a finisher. So Vince, or was it someone else I can't remember who, advised Bret to seek out this Mexican wrestler and learn this submission move known as the "Scorpion Deathlock" from him. After that, Vince and Bret threw out a bunch of different names for the finishing hold like "Executioner," the "Eliminator," and finally Bret spit out "The Shapshooter," which they went with. So Bret never took credit for inventing, nor did he give Sting the creative credit. It was clearly around before either of them started wrestling
Rugged Ronnie Garvin used that submission hold in the WWF before Bret Hart. Interestingly, Garvin had a feud with Greg The Hammer Valentine who used the figure four leg-lock and in the NWA Sting had a feud with Nature Boy Ric Flair who also used the figure four leg-lock. (On a side note, Valentine and Flair were a tag team in the late 70's.)
Agree. I got a dvd of the Road Warriors in Japan where a Japanese put the sharp shooter on Hawk. Keep in mind, this match happened in 1984 long before Sting even used the Scorpion Death lock. The Scorpion Death or The Sharpshooter was used in Japan even before Bret or Sting were established superstars.

I remember the first time I saw Sting was when he was Eddie Gilbert's bodyguard. He played a heel very well, but the thing was...he had a natural charisma that put him over with fans. He had no choice, but to become a face. I remember those days of watching wrestling every Saturday night when the Von Erich's, Dusty Rhodes, etc...would come on for 3 hours. The hosts were Joe Presciano and Bonnie Blackstone. How do I remember this? Missy Hyatt was Eddie's girlfriend. I was about three years old when this was on. I have no idea, how I remember this stuff.
I remember that too. Sting, Eddie Gilbert, Rick Steiner and Missy Hyatt. Eddie Gilbert was the t.v champ and said he would wrestle anybody in the top 10. So the promoter said he had to wrestle Sting. Sting was ranked #7. I think Sting won the belt. I can't remember if he did.
The death lock was actually before the sharpshooter tho lol.. Ronnie Garvin was using it in wwf and then Brett took it and flipped it into his version the sharpshooter

@@tomasnichols8401 Stinger was never at a lost for words and intensity.
@@bigkev3184 Convenient that you left out the fact that Pat Patterson was the one who suggested that Bret use it and the fact that Bret was familiar with it. Konnan taught him the move in 1991. You can hate Bret if you want but you dont need to lie to try to make him look bad. I like how you wrote this rant on a nice comment
Excuse me sir...bret hart made his opponents looks very classy and good in ring performer....bret will definitely make u look good in the ring...
Always loved Sting, and when I learned from Jim Ross's podcast how he handled Owen's death, I respected him even more.
He is a good honest man no grudges. True icon legend. The best ever and gorgeous his wife is very lucky. He is so positive and always seems happy
The classy wrestlers always say good things about Bret.
Both great wrestlers and cool 😎 to fans too👍
Looking back, I am glad I got the chance to see Bret Hart and Sting wrestle in the mid 90s. Love those guys.
@@Laerun Scott hall is now clean and sober thanks to ddp yoga. Shawn Michaels changed himself and got clean and became a born again Christian. Hulk hogan is the asshole who made it all about himself. He and vince Russo killed WCW
Actually he asked Bret and he talked to the family and they didn't mind sting dropping from the rafters. That's why he kept doing it long after Owen's death. That's just how respectable he is
Seth Rollins injured Sting with a buckle bomb. He never got to finish his WWE run. They didnt just cut him for no reason.
Sting not bothering takeing on he used the move first between the two .... it is not hard to see why he was the most respected men with taker
lolamar Sting is a cool guy...but it's such an unimportant trivial fact to harp on anyways, I suspect Sting feels the same way
Bret Hart actually admitted in his documentary "The best there is, the best there was, the best there ever will be", he stated, "Everyone thinks I invented it or learned it from my dad but actually the sharpshooter was just a move I saw a few times, and I asked some people backstage to teach me it...I think it was called the Scorpion Deathlock back then...and that's actually how it came about". I always wondered on how well they actually got along.
lolamar yes I agree Sting and the Undertaker are probably the classiest wrestlers that ever lived and I wish more of them were that way. You can tell just by the way they talk. Fuck the rest!
@@azraelangelofred I heard Bret say he learned it in Japan
I love u both ........
Their feud in 98 still remains my all time favourite.
Which doesn't hold a candle to lost my smile boy toy.
But considering how serious he takes his legacy as he was trying to create it and after he retired, do you honestly think he would have been comfortable doing a job to Sting in submitting in a hold he feels he made as much of a household name as him CLEAN in the ring? Between the 2 of them Sting would have probably been the one willing to do the honors first. Bret was always about protecting himself and how he looked to the fans when a lot of times he didn't understand not everything was about him and his evolvement.
"Scorpion Deathlock" sounds way better and more fitting than "Sharpshooter," in my opinion.
2 different gimmicks 2 different names for them...
@@rylandweet7750 exactly
@@nathancarroll3562 true, but I do like the deathlock name as it is very much part of the Mexican deathlock family of holds
Scorpion Death Lock was before the Sharpshooter. Sting was using it while Bret was still doing tag team matches and the Hart Foundation finisher.
Excellent! Thank you for sharing this interview with the legendary Sting himself, not that singer, but THE Stinger!
Hopefully most people know this, bit Sting was doing the scorpion death lock waaay before Bret took it and called the sharpshooter.
To be fair, Sting didn't invent the hold either. It was called the Indian Deathlock before him
It’s hard for Sting to use the “I had it first” argument when he also shares his name with a famous singer.
And also his make up from The Crow.
Its actually the stinger, that's the original name the wrestlers kept calling him sting.
So proud that this man has always been my favourite wrestler. So humble and such a good guy, no shit talking or any bitterness.
I have never seen an interview where Sting was anything but classy and respectful, outside of the ring.
Bret actually got the Sharpshooter from Konan. I would of never guessed that but I heard Bret explain it himself.
Sting definitely used the hold first and he credited Chosu for teaching him. Bret was tagging with Neidhart. But most WWF/WWE fans are blind to the fact that Sting used the scorpion deathlock around 1987-88 about a year before Hart... #Fact
Ur an idiot....#Fact
My two favourits. Sting and the Hitman. 👍
my 2 favorite wrestlers of all time , Sting and Bret Hart . Great role models !
And we love you steve for being humble and honest!
Sting did it before Bret. And I also called it Scorpion Death Lock because the original move created by the Japanese wrestler he named it Sasori hold or something (sasori = 🦂).
Sting you and Brett is definitely the icons of wrestling
My favorite WCW and WWF wrestlers!!
Sting is so humble! He can’t even say that he had 4 yrs on top of Bret Hart. Sting was wrestling single matches while Bret was still in the Hart Foundation.
Walter Jarquin sting was better than Brett Hart he drew more doe ray me for Wcw than Brett did for the wwf
lol not even close
wolfpacsyxx sting drew money Brett was largely forgotten
So Bret Hart "kept it afloat" when WWF was losing money, but Sting was "bleeding money?" WWF was nearly out of business in 1997 with Hart on top.
Sting seems so cool man, very humble.
Sting and Bret always been my guy
Always liked sting
Funny how the best of the best in pro wrestling almost always have good things to say about Bret.
Right On Stinger ! Loved you an Bret ! Superstars ! Classy Men
Japanese wrestler Ricki Choshi used it first, Sting used it second. then brett used it when he resumed his solo career Sting used it before brett but with wwe fans living in their bubble refusing to watch other wrestling companies wouldn't know this.
The Prophet of Rage As one of the biggest Bret Hart fans as a kid, even I knew of Sting using the hold first. It didn’t matter who was first, just that it was used effectively in terms of telling a story in the ring.
Technically one could argue Bret is the only one to do the Sharpshooter since he places his left leg between his opponent's legs and turn to the left while everybody else do it with the right leg and turning on the right which would be the Scorpion Deathlock :p
And Bret is not even lefthanded to justify this. When I asked him about it at an Axxess he jokingly answered "That's why it's The Sharpshooter and not everybody else's version"
Same argument over diamond cutter, RKO and stone cold stunner
The Prophet of Rage None of those guys use that hold better than Bret...none...try to dispute that, who cares about who used it first? Bret owned the shit out of the Sasori Gatame, fuck the WWE bubble, this is bigger than any argument about a bubble, even after popping that bubble, Bret's use of the hold trumps everybody else's use of it
The Prophet of Rage And Ricki Choshu is Korean not Japanese
I remember Bret saying despite the fact they may look the same the moves are not the same because they are done differently.
Sting's starts with the right leg while brets starts with the left. That is the difference. They both found their own respective ways to make it look different from the other. I love them both. Legends
Which is true...
@@derekwinkler7414 Great observation.. 👀
In addition, Bret has found different ways to put the move on as well as reverse the move; and Bret made it look the most realistic.
@@derekwinkler7414 Don't know what your talking about. Bret same as Sting always put his right leg through & turned to the right. Sting would always make it look like the guy was pushing him off like he couldn't twist him over like WOW wow like is he gonna make it than dud dramatic effect than sit back.
Bret is a living Legend..........greatest of all time
Bret and Sting should have been one for the ages. I remember being more excited for their match at Halloween Havoc than Hogan and Warrior 2 but the feud just fizzled out bc WCW dropped the ball.
Very true. He definitely is the best there is the best there was and best there ever will be, period.
@Aaron9 is there something wrong? U say calm down as if bret isn't in the top 2 of all time lol
Sting is the only other wrestler, other than Bret, that I've seen put the Scorpion Deathlock on properly. Those two always put the hold on nice and tight. A lot of wrestlers, Shawn Michaels and the Rock come to mind specifically, always put the hold on too loose, IMO.
Sting always so classy when he says "Bret was before me". Every wrestling fan knows Sting used the hold before the Hitman.
Cheshire Tiger nope you're right I was referring to their finishing move. To which I will say Bret did do it better.
Nope bret hart debut was 1976 as a refree 1978 as a wrestler
Steve Borden/Sting debut was 1985
@@lumpencelt3318 I meant the finishing move which Sting talks about in the video not their debut in the business. Sorry about the mix up. 😁
Bret has always acknowledged that sting used the move before.
I loved the Bret and Sting feud in wcw. It’s the first feud that got me into wrestling 😊
Sting is a super solid guy. Always respectful. The most interesting thing of his career is he went undefeated (29-0) in AEW while going winless (0-2) in WWE.
So humble love him
Hell yeah Dude! Words from a True Champion!
Sting is one of the biggest most iconic Legends to ever step foot inside the ring
Bret Hart make the Sharpshooter famous that's why nobody do it like him with the excitement And the emotions
Sting has class. Him and Taker seem to have a lot in common including not fighting each other at Wrestlemania =D
Yeah, it was called the powerlock originally
Rugged Ronnie Garvin used that submission hold in the WWF before Bret Hart. Interestingly, Garvin had a feud with Greg The Hammer Valentine who used the figure four leg-lock and in the NWA Sting had a feud with Nature Boy Ric Flair who also used the figure four leg-lock. (On a side note, Valentine and Flair were a tag team in the late 70's.)
I think I saw Nick Bockwinkle apply the hold in the early 80's. It was referred to as the indian death lock.
"This Mexican wrestler"? Dude, it was Konnan.
Sting is my favorite.
Sting is my all time fav wrestler
Lmao, sting is a legend
Sting vs Bret would be epic although they wrestle a few times in wcw but I feel like if Bret was still wrestling and got a chance to leave on his own terms and sting would have came in to wwf/wwe during both of their prime we would have got the best of sting vs best of bret Hart both loyal company guys and who for a long time were most of their run on top were Babyfaces would have been epic

I loved their wcw feud. They had some great chemistry. Sting eventually one uped Bret with his new finisher. The scorpion death drop was and still is my favorite variation of the DDT
Wrestling is always great when you have 2 top guys in different Territories with the same finishers. It creates and instant Fantasy Match
He reminds me of Jim Carey during that interview. Seems like an awesome guy and was one Hell of an in ring performer!
"Bret, you stole my look."
This is good to see. We see so much shit talking from wrestlers about one another outside the ring. It's nice to see one that is positive. Sting has always come off as a humble guy, so this doesn't surprise me lol.
These two are the only reason I watched WCW/WWF back in the day lol
Actually Bret acknowledged Sting came up with the scorpion deathlock first, then Bret practiced it with Konan and came up with the Sharpshooter.
Love stings attitude but hell Bret was not doing that move until after Sting was doing it
I remember the first time I saw Sting was when he was Eddie Gilbert's bodyguard.
If you ever talk about wcw definitely mentioning STING its a must!!!
Sting vs Undertaker at Mania is the biggest missed opportunity
Triple H thought it was best for his ego to beat Sting in the middle of the ring.
Sting vs Hbk
Taker vs Andre
Sting is a legit class act.
Every true wrestling fan knows Bret steps in with right leg for the sharpshooter and Sting steps in with the left for the SDL.

i was disapointed they had at it at WCW they way they did; wouldve been clasy to have Sting eventually join WWE, and to have Hart remain there too

bret and sting are two of the coolest wrestlers of all time
I believe Bret was able to use the SharpShooter as a Defense/Reversal hold which was awesome.
The death lock was actually before the sharpshooter tho lol..
Ronnie Garvin was using it in wwf and then Brett took it and flipped it into his version the sharpshooter
My favorite wrestler!
