    I’m so glad you give the epilogue! I always see these things and ask “but do they last?” This isn’t much maintenance for one year of having a greenhouse!

    You should use polycarbonate sheets, it doesn't break like glass. BTW, the price has gone way to high because of covid ( glass shields)

      Twinwall polycarbonate is great and has great transparency and rigidity

      😮 That’s wild, over here all covid related materials went way down in price while it was full on

    I also am living in Canada and am moved into our dream rental property in the country!! (Yay us! So excited!) the property comes with a green house that has been damaged by the last tenants. Hopefully they haven’t torn it down (I asked “please leave it! I’ll fix it!”) it’s made out of old windows and there’s more I can use to replace the broken windows. Will this make a good greenhouse?

    What a beautiful greenhouse! I learned the hard way about angles, greenhouses and plexiglass anything! I lived in a rain zone, we got some snow. I had no idea how heavy powder can be! ❄️ it cracked a bit on the side, and I understood why ALPINE ARCHITECTURE is roofed differently LoL. Ok so next time I know! I had a bunch of carnivorous plants out there. They were fine, I mainly used it for finishing my wheatgrass crops, temporary lodgers. My permanent residents were like …. Mom! Fix this thing NOW!

    I would suggest polycarbonate over plexiglass. They are both clear plastic like materials however poly carbonate is much more durable and withstands more impact. also your plexiglass will break down overtime in the sun and start to fog over where as the polycarbonate will stay clear for much longer allowing more sunlight in. The polycarbonate is significantly more expensive but I would suggest going to a glass distributor and buying it in bulk that way they will cut it down for you and you will save a lot of money in the long run. The poly carbonate may also be called Lexan

    * Ditto❤
    I wanted to comment on virtually the same thing as your top comment...and further give you kudos for sharing the "failure"/"temporary setback" in order to further HELP people by showing the problem you experienced.
    It is so much more helpful/honest/COOL to include this experience.
    The "silver lining" of negative life experience(s) ~ and a psychologically healthy way to gain a positive benefit from mistakes ~ for by HONESTLY SHARING your experience with others ~ you give preemptive advice that can/will help others.
    Those younger/less established/ less experienced than you GENUINELY BENEFIT from such shared honesty/experience and CAN thereby AVOID repeating your minor setback (should they choose to listen/heed your experience).
    I ALSO wanted to comment on the BEAUTY of your DESIGN, particularly as you worked with "found materials". I've often found in my own life and projects that being mindful of WASTING (both money and more importantly one's TIME) pushes you to be FAR MORE open-minded and CREATIVE in your designs.
    I love the "Art Noveau" aesthetic (which is also the Japanese aesthetic): if an object is FUNCTIONAL it might as well be BEAUTIFUL as well. Investing HOURS (or in the case of my log cabin the 25 YEARS in which we searched for viable affordable property) in the design phase will reap incalculable GAINS in the FINAL CONSTRUCTION.
    BEAUTY and ART makes me FEEL HAPPY. The definition of ART I love best is "ART is that which evokes STRONG EMOTION": SIMPLY it makes the audience FEEL.
    I CANNOT help but feel HAPPY seeing your BEAUTIFUL GREENHOUSE. I ALSO feel the passion and love you invested in the design and construction phases.
    A very lovely SHORT.
    WELL DONE.
    Another CANUCKian commenting.
