Lord, quiet my heart. May I draw near You for peaceful rest.
Thanks again, LIndsey, we appreciate you.
Rob
LOL!!! "I almost died making this stupid video" ... I laughed out loud at 7:50 a.m. - not common.
Once again encouraged to accept and be thankful for my "not the story I wanted" and to allow my heart, my story, to be at rest in God.
So glad you are part of our story - and John was able to bring you unexpected giggles. Thank you for sharing Bucky
I have been wrestling with restlessness for over a year now. It helps to know that I am not the only one and that it just may be where God wants me to be... utterly dependent on Him. ❤
Thank you for sharing what God may be stirring in your heart - we appreciate you Bucky
Thankful that you weren’t electrocuted! 😂. Much needed message! Thanks!
😁 We are grateful as well that John is okay - thank you for joining us Bucky
So grateful for the fellowship of the withered hand. ❤
I never thought of being grateful for my story but after the first of this series I realised that in 2003, when I first went to South Africa, I was given the task of of telling my story (part of it anyway) to a group of people at a drug and rehabilitation centre. And I included stuff I had never told anyone else before. The one girl there came up to me after and said that she had never believed someone could ever love her, as what happened to me had happened to her. And she discovered she was loved by an amazing God. So I am grateful for my story but the most amazing thing is that God knew it would happen even before I left home, He is beyond amazing.
Thank you so much for sharing your heart and your story. Every story matters - we appreciate you! Bucky
❤❤
Learning to be content solves a slew of problems. Plus it’s restful. I used to fear I was lazy, checked out or in denial. Later I learned it’s just better to be content and not insult God’s work in making me. I hope that doesn’t sound arrogant but I’m grateful for how he made me. Even the deaf part is good (inherited, solved with two cochlear implants). The silence is extremely restful.
Thank you for sharing a very tender part of your story - we are grateful Bucky
My restlessness is currently my age. At 55, I am experiencing unexpected changes that I never thought I would. Going into year 2 of these changes, and I can see God's hand upon my life. It was for my good. I am taking the raw age of 55 and using it to build something new. God lead the way :)
We are grateful for your insights seeing how God's hand is on you. Thank you so much for sharing your heart. Bucky
LOL! Happy you didnt get zapped...I laughed out loud on that one too!! I love your videos and your realness! Peace to you and the team! ❤
We are as grateful as you - glad you are enjoying John's messages Bucky
Oh John, you never cease to make me laugh 😂
I thank God, and am grateful for the wisdom you share with us each day. 💖
I'm so glad! Thank you for sharing a part of your day with us Blessings Bucky
I don’t know if I can ever accept the parts I cannot change and pray that all those, like me, can turn it over to God. May we all find inner peace. ❤
Blessings Savant of God, God all mighty continue use you in his mighty way man of God
Thank you for your kind words Bucky
@BecomeNew thanks very I would like to Invite you and the man of God here in Uganda
When I was a kid Dad used temporary “electric fences” to keep his cattle where he wanted them. When they would touch the fence with their noses, they didn’t attempt it again. Dad used batteries for the source of power. He could hold on to the fence and then supposedly help us through the fence. Of course the shock would transfer to our hand when he “helped”! This was not abuse but a learning experience! Now I expect the power source is much stronger? It’s not something to kill, but to teach! ;-). You did learn to not touch an electric fence for all time, didn’t you. I also learned that a single wire as a fence was something to be avoided! I think God has a lesson in that. What to you think? BTW my Dad was the best ever Daddy!
Powerful lessons indeed - carry us through life Thanks for sharing your daddy's lesson with our BecomeNew Community Bucky
Jesus said “it’s Enough for the servant to be like his Master”. The challenge today paired with this is “to be at rest in Him”, not me but Him. Thank you
PS Laughter is also sweet peace !!! Thank you John ❤️
Laughter is good for the soul - thank you for being with us. Bucky
Just when I think I’ve become thankful I find a new restlessness:(
I know this is the way of Jesus, but it is a struggle for me!
Thanks for this reminder/encouragement
So true - thank you for taking the journey of "story" with us. Each Story matters Bucky
So very thankful for you in God’s garden John . Always finding my peace in God’s creation.
You are a blessing to Become New - Bucky
If the opposite of restlessness is peace, we must find our rest in God. Rest in God will bring peace. Shalom, shalom.
Thank you for sharing truth - Shalom, shalom Bucky
Wow. That is quite a lot to consider. I hope you will be speaking more about the accepting and being grateful parts of our story. There is often quite a lot that we don’t want to be grateful for, yet our lives are a gift from God.
Thanks John, for reminding us of whose we are - we are indeed the sheep of His pasture!!
Indeed! Thank you Bucky
This one hit home. I am forever living in restless state. I am grateful for all I have and yet, still longing for more, for different. Will I ever stop longing for “different”? 😢❤️
“Accept deeply that which we can not change”…. Praying through this as it is a step in trusting God that I had not thought of before.
Trust = Faith....it is a process. Thanks for sharing, Cindy!
Rob
Wow, go Schopenhauer's mom! She'd been hanging on to that one for a while!
For me, envy can be a problem. God's put in my thoughts so many times 'but this is YOUR life, the one I've given you.' I'm not happy to have had many of the circumstances in my life, but I've learned to be more grateful for the depth of experiences I've had because of them.
Thank you for sharing our journey - as each one matters. God is good Bucky
My husband and I were laughing so loud while you were reading that letter from Schopenhauer's mom that we could hardly hear you reading! 🤣
Hahaha, this makes us happy! Laughing out loud is a part of the fellowship of the withered hand. We're glad you took the time to tell us! - Brad
I come back over and over again to the Bible's Creation story. The restlessness we all experience began there. The first people could not be content with God's dominion and the role of earthly stewards he gave them. They could not be content to be obedient children. We are their restless, disobedient children. Jesus rested in the Father. I need to pray to be more like Jesus.
Thank you for watching, Anne!
Rob
good morning ☀️ John so grateful to the risks you bear to create these wonderful videos for us.
Peace is what brought me back home to Jesus. I can find rest when I kick me out and let God. Sadly, easier said than done. 💕🍃
So grateful for you sharing a piece of your own story with us as we continue our journey Bucky
The sheep dog looks like he/she isn’t paying attention, but knowing just exactly what to do when something disturbs the sheep. Another example?
Good insight! Bucky
Over the course of becoming a licensed pastor I’ve had to write and rewrite my story multiple times. Indeed every story is God story the hard and difficult components so love this series and can’t wait to hear more stories of God’s redemption.
So grateful you are joining us on our "Story" journey - every story matters to God. Thank you for sharing yours Bucky
So grateful for this reminder. Thank you so much.
You are so welcome, thanks for watching!
Rob
King James Version is the best
