      Almiron at a lower level is more than a one-dimensional player, but he's really just an impact player at the premier league level. I wouldn't be surprised to see a move to the Netherlands or potentially even back to America if he wants regular first-team football. He's great at a level where his creativity is allowed to show, and he's shown with extended success in North America that he's capable of a physical style of play, but in the Prem his creativity is limited and he's more of a speedy good on the ball sort. He has goals in him, potentially even on the big stage, but I think he plays best when he's one of the best players on the pitch.

He's just not a quality Premiership player because it appears he doesn't like to be a role player.

    • @dddgtsd
      @dddgtsd 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep, I laughed out loud when Lascelles was included in the 'good players'. ASM, Wilson and Dubs for sure are our best three players. I'd chuck Willock and Almiron in the second tier of half decent attacking squad players. Fernandez has probably been the most consistent defender, I'd hold on to Schar just in case we start playing decent football as he could be useful as a ball player at the back. Clark, Ritchie, Hayden, Manquillo, Dummett are all good lads who deserve a pat on the back but let's be fair, they're championship quality. Shelvey and Joelinton are two weird ones, I think there's a player in Jo under the right manager, maybe not a starter but he has some attributes just needs some guidance. Shelvey I'd be shifting on, complete luxury player but like Schar could benefit from having some decent players around him and a good manager in the short term.

  • @moe_mohamed
    @moe_mohamed 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    I mean we cant forget also that the plan here for the club is to just avoid relegation, so a lot of players in that club are imo good enough to do just that under a competent manager. Playera like Schar, Jamal Lewis, Hayden, Almiron are not bad players. But I do agree that a RM and a RB are a priority.

    • @dddgtsd
      @dddgtsd 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Schar I've commented elsewhere, under a decent manager and playing in a more expressive side should be our best CB. He overplays a bit for the way we play atm and can only really play as one of the three CBs as he needs that cover. Lewis, I'm yet to see any positives from him but he's young and under the right manager who knows, Almiron is a grafter and should always remain as at least a squad player. I'd be looking to move Hayden on, great servant much like many of the lads (Clarke, Ritchie, Lascelles etc) but he needs to be replaced with someone better on the ball. Always said if you could combine Hayden and Shelvey you'd have a a decent Prem player.

    • @moe_mohamed
      @moe_mohamed 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@dddgtsd Yes! Agree with all your points. Schär gets regurlarly picked for Switzerland and shows his qualities. If it turns out to be Eddie Howe, I wouldn't be too surprised if we see him at least get a chance. Can't help thinking that Zlatan could probably be tempted from Milan and being from Sweden he will be fine with the weather! If the Trippier rumours are true then that is a great start.
    But what they need to do is to derail their rivals for relegation, Norwich are down regardless of who they sell or sign so i would buy the following: Tarkowski from Burnley, Sarr from Watford, Bertrand from Southampton, Dallas from Leeds and Bissouma from Brighton - it'll cost them north of £250m but add those players to Newcastle and they have a decent squad and very good first choice XI.

  • @mattburland8105

    The real issue I see is that come January, Newcastle may still be propping up the bottom of the table and it will be hard to convince the kind of exceptionally talented players that Newcastle need to come join a relegation fight already in progress with the very real prospect, not of playing Champions League football next season, but of playing in the Championship instead.

  • @tomsmith3216
    @tomsmith3216 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Someone mentioned Barkley, he'd be a good signing.
    Any of the CBs mentioned in the video. Surely a left back would be high on the prio list. Ben Davies from Spurs, maybe. Ramsey is a good shout. I'd probably leave the attack for now, tbh. You can come back to that later, but ASM, Fraser, Wilson and Amiron have enough about them to do a job until the summer. So prioritise a CB, a LB, a RB, and a central mid.
    But I think the bigger problem Newcastle have is coaching: it's not been good enough. IMO, Hayden, Willock, Lascelles are good enough for the PL, but they're not at the level they should be. And Newcastle are being carried by ASM and Wilson.

      In his defence, he a) reliably crosses a ball well to the point that he's one of Newcastle's most effective creative outlets and b) makes a huge difference in motivation. The team's a lot more aggressive and willing to fight with him shouting at everyone on the pitch. and c) He's also somehow a better defender than Jamal Lewis, despite being a very very makeshift LWB.
      We desperately need someone better than him but it's worth bearing in mind what he *does* bring to the table too, which is more than his below par wingback performance.

    If Newcastle want to be in Europe soon they'll not only need to look at home grown English players, but ones that developed through Newcastle, as you need at least 4 in a 25 man squad - currently they have the Longstaffs and Woodman, so it might be worth looking into ex-Newcastle players that they could tempt back. Tavernier or Mbabu at RB would be an upgrade on Manquillo, and up front, Toney and Adam Armstrong would probably cost a lot more but would provide better depth than Joelinton and Gayle

  • @yaboialejandro

    Loftus-Cheek would fit Newcastle perfectly imo. He's shown glimpses of real quality playing for Chelsea this season, but he's not really commanding a guaranteed place on a teamsheet that's already *stacked* with brilliant midfielders. He's English, premier-league quality and a player that Chelsea would certainly consider selling.
    I'd say that Marcelo Brozovic is an outside bet, but unlikely. He's quality and is probably holding out for a bigger team e.g. Utd or Liverpool to come get him in the summer instead.

    I will not be surprised if New Castle buys him and he becomes a staple to their team. He will be sorely missed by the Clarets, and we’re lucky to have Nathan Collins ready to fill his shoes.

    Fun cos you can play around, experiment, and so on. And frustrating cos when you're trying to get into detail and seriousness and deep tactical analysis and such, it can be derailed at any moment by a mention of ghosts or Joe wanting to be specific (in general) or by TIFO merch...

    (1): Ramsey, Ox, Zaha, Lingard, or even Kane
    (2): Maitland-niles, Eze, Mitchell/Thomas, Aarons, Cantwell

    • @dddgtsd
      @dddgtsd 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've mentioned him in conversations and I think a nice loan with option to buy could work. That means that if we go down we could pull out as he won't likely wanna drop down and we might not want his wages in the Champs. But he should be hungry to impress and he would be a mobile midfielder who can pass, tackle and chip in with goals. Only issue is, has United killed his confidence and if he is weak mentally he might come to Toon a wounded pup...last thing you need in a relegation battle is someone feeling sorry for themselves.

    • @dddgtsd
      @dddgtsd 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'd not say no but if you can only bring in say 3 or 4 players in Jan is a goalie high on the priorities? Dubravka when fit is a decent keeper and Darlow isn't a bad back up. We've got a passed it midfielder at full back, three or four bang average Championship quality players (who don't get me wrong I like and appreciate) making up the rest of our defence. We've missed a decent CM since Cabaye left, there is too much pressure on ASM to create. For me it's a full back, centre back, centre mid and if we can grab another winger on loan who has something to prove.
      Don't get me wrong if Navas is available he is clearly better than Dubravka but he seems to be getting the odd game at the minute for PSG as well.
